When I was about 7 or 8 years old my family had a sheep dog that loved water. Bathing him was not a problem. When he jumped the 6 foot fence from the back yard we always found him at the brook a few blocks away swimming. He liked to fish too. He would catch the fish with his mouth and bring it to shore to share with the fishermen. To lure him into the backyard we would turn on the water to the hose and lead him into the backyard.
