Uh no they don't. These giant hornets are unique to Japan. The entire 30-minute show on the Discovery channel includes a lot more info than just this 4-minute clip. We have hornets in north america of course, just not these giant mothers with the sting that can actually send a human into shock.

Those hornets are scary as hell. They look like small birds when they fly around here. I live in Connecticut and i've seen this type of hornet only 3 times in my lifetime. They seem to show up when the there is a heat wave and dead grass. My dad shot half a can of bee spray at this type of hornet while trapped inside a traffic cone. It flew out in circles up into the sky like it was unstoppable.
