In 1971 I was the proud possessor of a portable 45rpm player (precurser of the walkman by some years). I had it stolen from my car but the real tragedy was that it contained this single, never to be replaced.
One of the great sounds and Elektra's answer to the Fairport's. Georg Hultgren was principal male vocalist (later to emerge in Sailor as Georg Kajanus). Ms Male was to be replaced by the late and wonderful Dorris Henderson. Lucas,Mike Rosen and Gerry Conway completed the line up. Promoted them on several occasions in the 60's
I got the album after seeing them at Newcastle University where I was a student. I wonder who nicked it! Nice to hear this again - brings back the times
Amazing to come across this. 40 years ago, I was playing the hell out of this album at a small college radio station in Rock Island, Illinois. Pity I couldn't make it a hit...
Trevor Lucas did sing lead on "In the Early Days," but I think only on that track. The main vocalist, whose name escapes me at the moment--he sings on this--was also their trumpeter, which he played to great effect on "Early Days" and some of the songs sung by Kerilee Male.
@davidlenander .the lead vocalist on this song is Georg Kajanus who was the lead singer of Sailor ( Glass of Champagne, Girls Girls, Girls were 2 big hits )
I bought this CD off the cuff and was quite impressed. My favorite tune by Eclection is "In Her Mind" but I agree that "Nevertheless" should've been a hit single. How very "1968". Cozy.
Love this.....always have - always will

Featuring Michael Rosen who also wrote this and a future member of Fairport Convention was also in the line up.
