@Jake4595 Movies are different. But real life katana pretty much slashed trough the armor of Japanese units except heavy armored infantry which was rare.

@SMGJohn Katanas that struck in a concentrated stand will ofcourse slash through a stationary object, but in battles, that moment of concentration is only given when the opponent is tied down. When soldiers are moving, armors will use that movement to slow the attack and lower the impact, like a suspension, thus reducing the penetration. Also, even if the sword penetrates in the first strike, it would not be able to kill the man.

@Jake4595 Well the sword is pretty strong and they weren't exactly wearing steel armor covering 100% of their bodies either. It was common to cut arms or heads off resulting in bleeding to death.

@SMGJohn Yea i know they will die from bleeding, but ingame, you can clearly see that the katana struck the place where the armor is at its most defensive position, yet the guy die as if it was a lightsaber. Animation and everything is perfect though

just the killing blow, kind of makes the armor look like just for decorations.

For real near the end the ninja just started whooping ass then bam samurai powaaaa. Samurai are way cooler then ninjas anyways though. You should do some sort of ship battle.

@MrBadbaron The animations in shogun 2 are so far the best in any total war game, soldiers actually defend attacks properly, the animations are more diverse and complicated. The last total war games consisted of one guy making a weak jabbing animation and the other guy 5 meters away from him dying. Also, what do you expect warriors to do? Attack without defending?N o. These are skilled swordsmen which actually use their skill. Soldiers back then didn't just charge and die.

Watching this fight simply amazes me. I remember playing Shogun Total War and watching fights which were more along the lines of pixels bumping into pixels until one fell over. I LOVE anything Total War!

They were spies not warrriors.They could not match a samurai one on one.

Of course the samurai would win, ninjas excel at attacking you when you aren't seeing them coming.

Samurai's were trained at mano vs mano techniques, that means that all they have to do is know where the fuck you are and you are quite fucked.

@TheGingaNinja34 I think you could run it on similar, if slightly lower graphics because I get a similar frame rate on both games using the same graphics, settings, though I'm not certain how it would work for you. You could always download the demo off of steam and see how that works out.

@haloserb yes,but in real game they fight like 2seconds and kill each other.For the video I used a mod and its pretty epic when you ser thousands of soldiers fighting so long.(to make this video I had to wait for them 5 minutes fight until ninja died)
