OMG! Dan! I went to a Lebanese restaurant and they serve almost everything with tahini! And my friends didn't know what it was and I taught them when I learned from you! thanks for making me feel smart! hehe~
Daniel Delaney rocks it again! No more bitter, boring canned tahini for this household. Fresh is easy, fast, and costs no more than canned. Check your local Asian market for a great price on sesame seeds. I love WTF! Next up.....eggplant?
I think I may try this and experiment with different oils like maybe a coconut oil -- I like Olive Oil but it is used so much, sometimes I just want to break out the box, so I am thinking either Coconut or Safflower oil.
ive seen it at the grocery store and it was super expensive and you could see the oil separated from the rest and I wasnt sure how fresh it was. I better try to make my own anyway
@PlatypusGuitar Ah well, the separation is natural. Natural peanut butters will do the same thing - you just have to mix it up a bit. But it's easy to make, as you can see, either way.
you are so funny, yet you give us useful info :D. this is a great show. you should have a lot more views. Why don't you include this in hungry nation?
Wow, you are a real fag.

I used to make tahini before I took an arrow to the knee

Thank you as I live in a part of the world where you cannot buy straight Tahini but can get the seeds. Now I can make hummus.

@ItsMeFawn Yea! You should. You can make smaller amounts into a mortar and pestle if you have the patience.

Why is your tahini brown?
MrRallz 1 year ago
@MrRallz All about how much you toast it. It will get nuttier and richer - but don't burn it - then it'll be bitter.

Could you do an episode on okra? I know it's not a "weird" food, haha, but I think it'd be a good educational video :P
