  • I remember when I rode the Q37 once when I was 6 when it was Green Lines. I rode it from Jamaica/111st to Atlantic/111st. That was so quick.

  • This place changed a LOT in a few years.

  • By da way, do you know if Queens or NY has any TMC's without the left side roof-top exhaust. Man that would be a throwback, like seeeing a GM almost.

  • Uhh..I have no idea lol.

  • Actually, the TMC used at Stengel to store garbage still has a 6v92TA, so no, it doesn't. I thought it was 8210 but it obviously isn't. I think its a 82XX

  • There were some 6V-92TA powered RTS's that were using the rooftop tailpipe option, IIRC. Btw, did you hear the engine running?

But for Stengel to be using it in such a disrespectful manner, as refuse container, is extremly irritating. They obviously have not a grain of respect for RTS's anymore.

  • There were? I thought the rooftop tailpipe was installed for the Series 50. I didnt hear it running, but it had no roof tailpipe. And it was 8207. It shows up for roadeos, so you can hear it leaving at the end or something.

  • Roadeos..not bad. Stengel should use one it's Orions for the this refuse business you mentioned. LoL. Thnks for the #8207.

As for the tailpipe, the rooftop was optional early on before the S50; however, once the S50 became standard in RTS's, rooftop tailpipes were fully established, and no longer ''optional''. Before the DD50 repowerings of 1996-97, I'm not sure how many RTS's had rooftop tailpipes. Some RTS's may have been fitted with a new AC housing with exhaust provisions.

  • What's up with old rear window-type TMC's I saw today in Flushing? If I'm correct, the ID's were 9--- and 8334. It was a bit of a shocking sight. I bet I was the only one who noticed or cared lol.

  • Well unless you were wrong about the ID of 9---, that is extremely strange. But 8334, 8218, 8212, and 8246 from Queens Village are the 1990 model that has that last window.Looks pretty cool IMO. They're actually pretty common on the Q27 and Q88. I've been hunting down 8212 because that's the only one I don't have a video of.

  • I saw 8212 this morning at Horace Harding and Utopia, around 9:30am. I didn't get the route, but it was going east so it had to be either a q30, 17 or 88. It's pretty strange that just today I saw that bus, but I didn't have my camera w/ me and I couldn't have pulled it fast enough even if I did. You'll get it eventually. As for the 9--- TMC that I saw, I don't have any solid verification that such a TMC exists with that "9" ID, so don't go hunting for it. I love these 1990 models.

  • Yeah. Jamaica Bus Depot does not have any of these, so it was on the Q88.

  • Oh, so they're all QV. Anyway, just saw another 1990 TMC in Flushing, but it was too far to make out the #..but it was on H. Harding Expwy, so had to have been an 88 right. It was probably a # you've already got a video of I'm guessing too.

  • Probably. They're common on the Q27 and Q88.

  • LOL @ The Whoo-Hoo advertizement. Ahh this is when banks get too enthusiastic!

  • Lol those commercials are so annoying!

  • Yeyeyeyeye my favorite bus!

  • Saw 8334 today, might go for it later. It was going for a school trip for Cardozo.

  • Cool!
