The 107th United States Congress passed HJ 114 EH authorizing the use of force against Iraq. If you read the joint resolution it clearly says "to take the necessary actions against international terrorist and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001" Iraq had no ties to 9/11 therefore the resolution was void and the Iraq war was illegal and fraudulent.

He was criticizing the near-sightedness of the surge, while no plans, at that time, were being made for after the increased military force. He as talking about how we were subjecting a finite military force to infinite conflict, funding without prejudice, and increasing violence without increasing diplomacy.
He didn't think the surge was going to fail. He thought faith in the surge is misguided. More needed to happen.

The 107th United States Congress passed HJ 114 EH authorizing the use of force against Iraq. If you read the joint resolution it clearly says "to take the necessary actions against international terrorist and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001" Iraq had no ties to 9/11 therefore the resolution was void and the Iraq war was illegal and fraudulent.

There are 50,000 Americans servicemembers in Iraq right now and by some estimates twice that number of American contractors and no plans to change that anytime soon. It's roughly the same number as was in Iraq at the time this was made, before the “Surge,” and it is the epitome of hypocrisy.

First it was just about Saddam having WMDs (which he didnt, a mistake no one was held accountable for), then it was about removing him, then it was about liberating Iraq.
