Oh you people need to stop criticizing a movie that is 22 years older than its new version.

I bet if they make a new Bridge to Terabithia version on 2029, the 2007 version is going to suck too. Also you have to realize that these kind of great ideas for movies are rarely seen anymore.

So I admit that Gabor Csupo did a great job with the remake of the movie but I´ll have to give the credits to Eric Till for coming up with such a great idea.

I'm not gonna say the reason I don't like this version is because Leslie isn't as pretty or there are no special effects. If you determine how good a movie is by how someone in it looks, that's a poor way to judge. And plus, it's an older movie, so they didn't have as much to work with as moviemakers do today for special effects.. But I honestly have to say that the acting here really sucks, and I think that's the real resason why the newer one's better.

It depends. Pan's Labyrinth did a good job of switching from imagination to reality and back.

I didn't actually watch the new Terebithia, but from the commercials (and the abundant CGI creatures) it looked like they were trying to get a lot of people who wanted something in the LotR/Narnia/Harry Potter flavor.

The book never struck me as being anything like what the commercial showed. It was a lot more of a preteen, angsty, psychological drama than a fantasy movie. But that's just me.
