Love his work and this trick is great for intermediates honing their craft. A force and a double lift and your pretty much done :) I would say the fact the photo is in a clear plastic sleeve has a big part in this trick if you where struggling to figure out the rest :P (Watch the handling)

A lot of people say he isn't good because he uses moves like that. A riffle force, double lift, etc. Like some people said, and I say all the time, it's PRESENTATION. That doesn't mean a person can't take the time and try, but rather that shows it's YOU that makes the effect possible.

Great trick, and remember this is from a TRAINING VIDEO on how to do the effect. Who cares about the double lift? You know that it's there, if you're the one who bought the vid to learn the effect.

Jay Sankey is awesome. Like it was stated by Darth up there, the patter and interaction is what helps conceal a sleight. Sankey is excellent at that.

Oh, and never invoke the name of Blaine. He's great because of a superb editing staff. Don't compare him to honest mechanics out there.

If I am correct, this trick is similar to Lee Asher's Witness. What I liked about this one was the hole in the card at the end. I carry extra equipment with me only when I know I will be definately performing somewhere. So I am asking for some opinions people. How would you compare it to Witness and which one would you recommend? I just want to make sure it is worth it as I work more frequently with ordinary cards.

double lifts, card control, etc do not make a good effect.....alot of it is patter, and crowd control. Sankey is a master of it. .....so all you magii, FORGET the deception, double lifts, etc, focus on PERFORMING MAGIC, make people SMILE!

becaue a top magician should preform a double that is unnoticed by even another top magician !! im an amature magician i spotted it !!! That is why i pointed it out !! Look at david blaine his double lift is great. almost impossable to spot ! jay is a great magician . but that sleight was i bit poor

This video is designed for magicians, so it doesn't really matter. And very few people can perform a double lift that looks exactly like a single lift. You're best bet is to perform your single lifts like your doubles, as Jay does in this video. And yes Blaine uses the push off most of the time, but certain lifts have certain advantages and disadvantages in certain situations, but you obviously wouldn't understand that.
