I worked many year and had basic cars, then I retired at 55 and bought a supra fast fast but even great in town a beautiful car. Miss driving it I live in Thailand now can't get near one here 1.5 mil Baht ( £ 30,000 ) for a 1995 Supra. I sold mine for £3,800 in the UK.

I like how it tells you "no nitrous". Hahaha. It's almost suggesting this engine is doing all this on it's own. 31 psi is a lot of boost fellas! This engine is indestructable when it comes to adding boost, but on it's own, the Supra's engine is nothing more than good. "Decent power", good reliability. That's it though. It's not like the engine in a Lexus LFA. That is a true authentic machine of an engine. And it's not boosted at all. It's all natural.
correction- without boost you can get up to about 1300hp.. thats what you call a naturally inspired 2jz.. it has been done before and recorded.. you are right on a few points about it being indestructable but you dont see naturally inspired cars anymore because of movies like fast&furious.. ppl dont have the brains or patience to do it so they let the turbos do it for them..
@Scylvur there's no way a 2JZ is making 1300 horsepower "all on it's own". Meaning no boost of any kind, and no nitrous. Please put me in the direction to see this documentation you speak of. I can say that John Kaase makes highly modified ford, chevy and chrysler V8's that can do around 1700 all natural, but no way is a 2jz able to do that without "a lot" of help. It will need an insane amount of nitrous and/or boost to do this.

The V8s i spoke of with 1700 plus horsepower was without nitrous, and without any turbo or supercharger. Just the engine alone with many mods to itself only. You didn't ruffle any feathers don't worry. Just a friendly discussion. I don't mind being shown I'm wrong, so if you can tell me of a month and year magazine I'd be willing to check it out. 2jz is still a good engine of course.

@Scylvur I would believe 800, but if it's all motor, then they'd obviously have to do a whole lot to the internals. I'm not talking for strength either. I mean putting in a much bigger cam profile, raising the compression ratio to the hilt, and enlarging the displacement as much as it would be able to (I'm not sure how far they can bore and stroke 2JZ out to). There's no replacement for displacement. You either do it internally, or you bolt on a turbo or supercharger. Good times!
yyeah you,re right. theres plenty you can do to a supra- let alone anything from japan because most of their motors come over built factory- RBs, SR series, 2JZ, K20s and the list goes on. the biggest displacement for a 2jz is 3.6 ive never seen any bigger- 3.4 is more common though. but like i said- because its a nissan or a lexus and not a big block chevy no one really bothers to play around with it here and america. someone somewhere has done it- jus maybe not documented
@Scylvur Can't speak for SRs or K20s but RBs and 2Js are some tough ass motors, having a forged bottom end from the factory and iron blocks makes them damn near bullet proof. But they have never made even 800 hp NA from what I've seen. You'll struggle to make 400hp out of an NA 2J. "Boost Logic" defiantly hasn't. If it is and I just don't know please show me, I'd love to see an import finally put some power down NA!
you are crazy! 400 hp for a supra is still stock! *granted it already comes with 320 hp. you can qet about 7-800 hp without touchinq the internals.. read a guide or do some research. there is so much hipe on turbos and nitrous till you wont see a car without it- but it doesn mean that a car isn capable of makinq serious power without it. if you were talkin about a b16 then yyeah- i see why you would say that. but 400 hp for a 2jz RB k20 etc is still practically stock//

You have to rev to like 10K RPMS to achieve what a Turbo car can do at 5600 RPMS & if you put a Turbo you can't rev up that high since it you will need lower compression pistons or else it will cause DETONATION. All you achieve is loosing Turbo Lag & WEIGHT has nothing to do with power. If your car makes 700 whp the weight doesn't affect the making of that power. Now power to weight ratio. Then you have to rely on either high RPM or pure displacement. 2JZ's are tough motors but don't have either of those so they must rely on boost, take that away and there's nothing. Until I see a fast NA supra this is what I know to be true.

it is wasted, but it just an outcome of running a high compression and dumping alot of fuel into it and having a cam or timed to dump the fuel it quickly with overlap with exhaust valve open...if you were to set it up so nothing is unburned youde be taking away some gas that is getting burned and makin power.

yyeah you,re right. theres plenty you can do to a supra- let alone anything from japan because most of their motors come over built factory- RBs, SR series, 2JZ, K20s and the list goes on. the biggest displacement for a 2jz is 3.6 ive never seen any bigger- 3.4 is more common though. but like i said- because its a nissan or a lexus and not a big block chevy no one really bothers to play around with it here and america. someone somewhere has done it- jus maybe not documented

@Scylvur Can't speak for SRs or K20s but RBs and 2Js are some tough ass motors, having a forged bottom end from the factory and iron blocks makes them damn near bullet proof. But they have never made even 800 hp NA from what I've seen. You'll struggle to make 400hp out of an NA 2J. "Boost Logic" defiantly hasn't. If it is and I just don't know please show me, I'd love to see an import finally put some power down NA!

you are crazy! 400 hp for a supra is still stock! *granted it already comes with 320 hp. you can qet about 7-800 hp without touchinq the internals.. read a guide or do some research. there is so much hipe on turbos and nitrous till you wont see a car without it- but it doesn mean that a car isn capable of makinq serious power without it. if you were talkin about a b16 then yyeah- i see why you would say that. but 400 hp for a 2jz RB k20 etc is still practically stock//

@Scylvur Oh defiantly, you can see 700hp on the stock motor, given it wont last very long but its possible no doubt. Think about it, have you EVER seen a high hp NA meaning no turbo or nitrous supra, skyline, or any import for that matter. I was speaking of N/A. putting 400hp down NA is a struggle, 2J's live off boost, take it away and their nothing unless full out race motors. And even then.

@Scylvur I'm not knocking the motor, they are small displacement. That lack of displacement is made up through boost, without boost what do you have? Just about any well built motor is mod happy lol.

@Scylvur I'm not arguing whether they can put out 700hp on the stock motor, I'm saying I doubt they could NA meaning no turbo no nitrous. 2J's are too small and struggle to rev to 10k. Have you even ever seen a high hp NA supra? NA-T's are fucking slow. Couldn't tell you, never seen a Cobra without a supercharger. Seen Z06's with nothing but H/C/I put out over 700 hp.

im sorry for some reason it didn post my other comment.. but you just proven my point.. stock a 2jz can hold up too 700 hp- and whether or not it will last lonq is irelevant- considerinq we both aqreed that the motor is very touqh.. you cannot rely on the siqht of the eyes for the eyes are decievinq.. just because you have never seen it done doesn mean it isnt capable without boost- it just means no one has the brains, time, money or patience to achieve the inevitable

So your saying just because nobody has done it doesn't mean its not possible? I've seen NA-T builds and never seen one over mid 400's and that's a fully built high compression motor. Face it, small import motors will not make high hp numbers NA. Why not rely on my eyes when I'm looking at what's being done before them?

all you have to do is type it in.. i admit that no videos will pop up for the supra but several civics will pop up.. and no- they arent necessarily swapped with anythinq since Si honda civics come with B16s. even if they were swapped they are still all motor which is the arguement. supra enqines are stronqer than hondas alone- if you can do it to a honda *considerinq the specs* why cant you do it to a supra ?

@Scylvur Whats the point of ALL MOTOR? You have to rev to like 10K RPMS to achieve what a Turbo car can do at 5600 RPMS & if you put a Turbo you can't rev up that high since it you will need lower compression pistons or else it will cause DETONATION. All you achieve is loosing Turbo Lag & WEIGHT has nothing to do with power. If your car makes 700 whp the weight doesn't affect the making of that power. Now power to weight ratio. STFU there are Supras 3600lbs making 7-8 second passes even mustangs

The movie didn't make turbos popular, they already were in the automotive world, the movie introduced them to RICERS..

Didn't know it existed, i was pleased to see the supra but very disappointed about the whole NOS b.s. I use to watch Camaros, imports race on tracks. @Scylvur Of course motors will be slower without force induction, do you know the point of forced induction? More air more hp makes you faster, take that away you won't be. Then you have to rely on either high RPM or pure displacement. 2JZ's are tough motors but don't have either of those so they must rely on boost, take that away and there's nothing. Until I see a fast NA supra this is what I know to be true.

it is wasted, but it just an outcome of running a high compression and dumping alot of fuel into it and having a cam or timed to dump the fuel it quickly with overlap with exhaust valve open...if you were to set it up so nothing is unburned youde be taking away some gas that is getting burned and makin power.
