Both John and Kee are excellent guitarists. Kee was in Europe when John was not. They have their own style. I like them both. Everyone has their own opinion and no one is right or wrong. Read Kee's book titled, "The Rock Star God Forgot." I wish both of them sucess and happiness.

I'll tell you who's best.

The one who's composed these solos in the first place. I don't know if it's Tempest or the guitarists themselves but they have some of the best, most catchy and singable guitarsolos ever!

Marcello is the more technically gifted and is a bit more melodic. But his solo's often sound too similar to each other. Norum, is not as clean but his solo's are a lot more creative. Marcello is a better live player, Norum creates amazing music in the studio. Both are excellent. Both mesh well with EUROPE. So thats my opinion. Kee's a technical genius with great feel. John's a creative genius.

Norum always skips hard licks of Marcello's solos, or he plays them wrong. Marcello is more melodic, has a cleaner touch in fast picking, has a wider vocabulary, better bending, and is a MUCH better person (I met them both). Marcello is one of the greatest guitarists and the most underrated, Norum is only a sprinter.

In fase compositiva, quindi su album, a livello tecnico sono 2 mostri... comunque personalmente gli assolo di kee mi piacciono di più perchè a mio avviso più melodici e "ricercati". Ma è dal vivo che non c'è paragone! Kee secondo me è molto meglio, è decisamente più fedele e disinvolto nel riproporre i pezzi... John sembra fare più fatica e tende a semplificare le parti più complesse.

I really doubt marcello is more technical, he is playing repetitive scales, very little emotion, norum's playing is much more elaborate, oh ye, and he had like 8 solo albums and oh ye the final countdown is with norum, oh ye and he did get Dokkens pick, oh ye and he is compared to Malmsteen and oh ye every guitar nerd worships him...
