shit, i live right by there. I easily could have been kyaking in that very spot. I don't mind slightly drunk drivers, but if you can't stay in your boat at 15 mph on a river, you can't hold your booze.

Why doesn't the red inflatable do a cirlcle just a little wider then the unmanned boat and slowly close in on it - when along side, someone can scramble onboard.
Another dumba.. powerboater... CT river inlets is full of idiot jet skiers and powerboaters. I remember two dumba.. jetskiers chitchatting beneath the railroad bridge while other boats were trying to pass through... I moved to the Thames river after this incident, apparently idiots are afraid of USCG and marine police around there!
you can stop a runner by throwing a ski rope in its path and fouling the prop. Down side is you have to get REAL close. it works though, i;ve seen it done.
My friend's sailboat was hit by this boat and his wife died on impact. He sustained multiple injuries. The other couple on the sailboat were also injured. The video did NOT show the actual collision but caught the aftermath of the boat being corraled. Susan Brandes was a wonderful wife mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. God Be with you Lee for this tragic loss by an out of control drunk uncaring excuse for a human being.

Thanks so much for sharing this. My veiw on this is the runaway boat some how had a line tied to a mouring and wasn't going anywhere. With two or more police boats in command on scene. Why was there no warning horns or sirens to ward the guy's in the yellow boat off? No need for editing. it is what it is. The edited versions on the ct news didn't show enough to make out what was realy happening. thanks again.
have helped at 2 same types of crashes here in holland 1st accsident man hurt and had about 130 stitces in leg , second one was drunk and only was wett< both boats drove around in circels like this one! managet to come alongside with small tug boat and jumed on board to kill the eng's just use kil switshes!! save's lives!!
