I have two monitors but don't do multi-monitor gaming because one is 32 and one is 27. Just having two monitors for general use is a lot of fun though. Increases your productivity and you can watch a movie and play a game or browse the internet at the same time, it's great.
Every single triple monitor setup I've seen has the periphery moniters angled like that, which is strange because it's theoretically incorrect. The math in video games always assumes a flat plane for projection regardless of your monitor size. And you can see this error as you turn past the combine CP officer for example.
But I guess it doesn't look so nice with LCD's that are so angle dependent.
@doltBmB I Agree with you unless a game takes that into account and some do. when you lay three flat it gets real hard to see the other screens even for periphery so it is a waste..
It may be theoretically incorrect but angling that way makes for a better viewing experience in general because of two large factors (In my opinion, I mean there are others..) Space. Most desks can't accommodate the large space needed for three monitors in a row. Distance is another factor. If you're sitting back further, it makes sense that less angling would be acceptable. But if you're sitting close up, you need to angle the monitors.
This is just my opinion. I think having three screens just to play a game is ridiculous. It is unnecessary rendering to max out a game and then to play it on a setup like that, it is too expensive, and it looks like a bad old Cinerama film. I think it also spoils some games, like the beginning of HL2. At 1:18, you can see both of G-Man's eyes. I think it was much scarier when you only saw one eye. What about Portal 2? What fun will it be when Wheatley asks you to turn around in that setup?
I had to go until he was right off the third monitor before he would do anything. :D
It is a totally different experience when you are right beside the computer as opposed to watching it online.
If you ever get a chance to test out a system like this, do it, you will not regret it.
I mainly use it for multitasking operations, but gaming is a cool side product to three monitors. Just like how 2 monitors is great, 3 is even better.
@minimorley22 FPS sucks with 2 monitors cuz the crosshair is in the middle of the 2 screens. Im gonna buy 6870HD and 3 24" fullHD monitors. If i would want 21" it would cost me like 600 € only. It is not so expensive as u might think.
I would like, to have one giant screen that surrounds my head, and that half life render a 360 degree perspective so I can turn my own head and see if there's someone behind me. and mainly use the mouse to aim my gun and turn my body around in the game ^.^
@xprtnegotiator Yeah, my english sucks, what I was explaining that 3 screens next to each others is like aspect ratio 3:1 or sumthing, and thats not good in my opinion :/ well but who cares.
@23BiGFailure btw....i read somewhere that the reason for the widescreens is because its more like the human eye works...we can see far better peripherally then vertically.
Just check your graphics card at the back of your computer, it should have an extra monitor port. If not, just buy a new graphics card with two monitor ports. (Mostly all mid end cards and up have this now)
Very COOL!!! If you can't see the point of 3 monitors the you're probably not a hardcore gamer.180 degree visibility! This means seeing angles that you wouldn't see with 1 monitor.Getting a bigger TV would not accomplish this.Great for simulations like Forza & Ace Combat. All you need is a racing wheel & flight stick.
@UGonnaEatUrtots really though hlf2 is fun but its not a game i would wanna show if i had this awesome setup i would play a game like lfd2 or MW or crysis thats all im saying

Seriously though, the main reason is simply for desktop real estate, the super wide gaming is just a fun perk.
@killa524 It increases your FOV (field of view) which allows you to see more of whats going on on the screen, including you peripherals in first person shooters

At first glance, I would agree with you. There are a couple of downsides with multi monitor gaming that can be solved by a big monitor. However, it has some cool advantages as well. For example, when you play a game on a 30 inch monitor, you see exactly the same amount of screen, except that the image has been enlarged. With three monitors, you see in the middle monitor what you normally see, and the same as would be seen on a bigger monitor, but then you have 'peripheral vision' on the other 2.
I have 3 monitors around the house (Not the same, But I dont care about mismatching and tackyness) They are all 15 inch.
How do I get any game to go across all 3 screens?. I've got them all set up and so I can drag a window from screen 1 all the way round to screen 3, But I cant get games to stretch like this. Thanks if any helps :)
yeah the curved monitor is not worth it seeing as it cost 7000$ could buy 3 30" and quad 5870 crossfire, i7 920 oc 4.2GHz,6G ddr3 1600mhz,1Tb hardrive,Bluray burner,Win7, Buy a really cool fulltower case to but it all in get a highend gaming keybaord and mouse and still have money left over or buy one alien ware curved monitor you Choice
Hey thanks for posting this vid. I was interested in a triple samsung 2253bw for the triplehead2go and your vid is perfect. BTW, do you notice if any, a performance impact in games when running a single screen and in tri-monitor setup?
Thats because hes doing 3 22 inch moniters from the look of it but if he went 24 it would strech the screen abit and if you do ati crossfire maxtor triplehead wont work but if you do sli it works fine.. I did that for a while was nice but I just got sick of it takeing up way to much deskspace..
thats because the rez is insanely high.... for example 1 24 inch moniter is 1920x1200 now 3 is 1920+1920+1920x1200 so the rez would be 5760x1200 thats alot more pixels for the video card to render.. now maxtor triplehead use max rez of 22 inch moniters so 1660 or something like that.. thats why I use softh its software that can do anyrez instead but takes time to do each game and you need 1 good video card and extra one to do other moniters but you can use diffrent size moniters no problem
I would never do it because of the bezels. just get an ultra wide display instead

Do you have a crosshair in the game? For whatever reason, when I start the game with my TH2G setup there isn't one.

Thats because hes doing 3 22 inch moniters from the look of it but if he went 24 it would strech the screen abit and if you do ati crossfire maxtor triplehead wont work but if you do sli it works fine.. I did that for a while was nice but I just got sick of it takeing up way to much deskspace..

fps seems low.. maybe camera records at low fps? or setup lol.

Setup is running at 49 FPS, so not lightning fast, but still perfect for gaming. The camera makes the fps look much lower then it really is.

thats because the rez is insanely high.... for example 1 24 inch moniter is 1920x1200 now 3 is 1920+1920+1920x1200 so the rez would be 5760x1200 thats alot more pixels for the video card to render.. now maxtor triplehead use max rez of 22 inch moniters so 1660 or something like that.. thats why I use softh its software that can do anyrez instead but takes time to do each game and you need 1 good video card and extra one to do other moniters but you can use diffrent size moniters no problem

how do u do that
