We used to drive from brum 6 of us in my mates van... Shock out so hard we were burnt out in 2 hours and vexed! Thats when we realised why you London boys did that slow 2 step dance... but we did the same again every week! DJ Hermit & the Beats would just take us!
GASS CLUB LEICESTER SQUARE LONDON EARLY 1990'S......... IF YOU WERE THERE YOU KNOW THAT YOU WERE ONE OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS.... SUNDAY NIGHT 10PM TILL 6AM MONDAY MORNING FOR FCUK SAKE..... WHAT DAYS THEY WERE.............. RIP
' Everybody's loving me for being me but i never thought that i could feel so free ' - massive bumpy us garage house feel - Reminds me of the Boilerhouse in Bradford back in the day !
Nervous was the label that dominated along with Strictly Rhythm! Thanks for the post! Love this song but , only the Armand Van Helden mix. The rest are weak!
Man...Todd Edwards suck deck. Obviously everyone's entitled to their opinion - except in this case, where this is clearly the best mix of this track by far... :D
just love this tune so much....just as much as i'm surprised to see your suitcase at the door!!! no amature here just love the tunes... fantastic... bring it on!!! old school....house and garage... in my 30's now, but just love it still!!!
Spreadlove/Gass club Whitcomb Court, Open When Shut/EC1 club Farringdon Road, Twice As Nice/Club Coliseum Nine Elms Lane (Vauxhall). Girls FM 96.8/106.8, London Underground 98.2, Freek FM 101.8. These were the only clubs and radio stations in London (UK) that played US House & Garage - I repeat US House & Garage - in the mid 1990's where Jungle, Drum & Bass, Hard House and Trance were very popular on the Dance Music scene.
i love the garage that came out of new york but im a london boy and there were so many great tunes from this side of the pond just a shame that by the end of 98 garage went badly down hill
Fletch 305 I did not know that Hanover Grand played US House and Garage the only venue I knew at the club was Fresh N Funky on wednesday nights where they played comptemporary/classic R&B, Rap and Hip-Hop from the beginning of 1990.
mayena you know your music, Freak FM and Girls FM was the nuts, the clubs you mention were the best in london at the time for house and garage music..you miss out Hanover Grand on a thursday nite and Legends on friday and saturday nite!!!
You've made some great tunes, no ones denying that, but the UK made garage great, simple as. And when we made 2 step omg, pisses over anything you lot done :P
Absolutely! UK made that shit fuckin amazing and I ate it up for years! I'm just proud to grow up where some of the best music I love has originated. But I love UK/Europe shit! The best!
Been searching for this tune for years. One of my gave.

Plus the scene changed drastically when some Jungle and Drum & Bass performers moved in the late 1990's.
