  • I'm a metalhead and I hate modern hip hop but I have to admit that old skool rocks

  • public enemy was in cardiff the other day 2011 they still doin it

  • Show me some love!! Hell Yea, they still got it!!! Someone stole my public!

  • what fucking purpose does flav serve?

  • @bsballfan

    You know sometimes he rap.

He doesnt sing in every song, just like Chuck D doesnt (maybe Chuck just raps more, since PE were HIS fucking group).

Oh and, he's one of a kind imho. Or maybe he was, cause nowadays he seems pretty fucked up but he was one of those "Leaders" of a generation... nothing that big, you know, just changing the landscape of Music & MusicVideos Industry and CREATING a Style.

You can like it or not, but you have to realize he DID a lot more than jumping around.

  • @bsballfan Flav actually plays drums, and lots of other instruments on many of PE's tracks. A seriously talented guy- but a joker, so that's not always obvious from the outside!

  • @bsballfan he keeps track of time and uses all drugs to keep the others clean

  • this is one of the first rap albums i listened start-finish constantly

  • PE ~ Number ONE - NUMERO UNO !!!

  • All Time Kingz!

  • This may sound corny but there have been times in my life when I have gone adversity and hardship and I would listen to the PE and the lyrics would pick me right back up and get me mentally fightin fit again. In the words of Chuck 'Realise gave me 5 co I kept him alive'

  • @AnansieDeSpider nothing corny about that, PE is the ulimate adrenaline injection to boost up one's morale to keep striving and fighting

  • Pure Attitude

  • Thanx Chuck for Shouting out my -city Cincinnati !

  • Weird reading all these comments saying how oldskool was the best and the 80's / 90's rocked etc. You realise New Whirl Odor , and hence this track, was released in 2005, right?

  • @TheInformalstyle - I think most people commenting here do realise that, I think most of the comments you refer to are basically a statement to some original players being back on the scene and bringing some of their original old skool flavour back with them...people remember them for who they were back then and still rightly so champion them to this day. Peace...

  • @Stevieboy74

u got it . I'll rock the P.E. tabard forever. grew up with chuck. still one of the best voices in hip hop......vinnie paz/JMT comes a close 2nd for me...

  • @TheInformalstyle yeii but i gues this song still has a strong kinda 80's 90's feel to it

  • @TheInformalstyle Don't u mean Bring that Beat BLACK?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheInformalstyle

true. people watch too much tv and listen too much radio. they remember the good old times while they listen to this song, cause it sounds classic! but hip hop was never dead. good hip hop does still exist but u guys have to find it!

  • flava flave is it? wow what a loser.

  • real hiphop yeah boy

  • CHUCK and FLAVA.what a perfect combination god created! great time of 90s.

  • the radio should bring the beat back thumbs up if you agree

  • @TheMexidorian The radio is owned by "they" = don't count on it. Money is the trap, the whip, hear it go CRACK! They beatin the beat. It's called taxed, CRACK! Whack is what it is, WHACK.

  • I agree with the old-schoolers.... but come on guys if you like the old school Hip Hop so much at least write it out in 2 words like it deserves to be written.. :)

  • That beat is fierce!!!!! Thank you DJ Abnormal!!

  • good but lacks oldschool PE energy...

  • Grandpappies had to go n come back to show them bitches how its done =3

  • @overkill, cuz back then everyone sounded different...choices of sound varies from every sprouting talents. Today's music is for the blind Mass Appeal, real and old-school music caters to certain delegates only.

  • Yeah man that´s so great!

    Peace from Hamburg!

  • 60 hits to overkill what a sick cunt ...nice comment btw

  • Comment removed

  • this is good stuff

  • I missed that beat... can you bring it back?!?

  • If u people may not not know.... Most of these rap songs cannot be put into radio because people just dont know real hip hop iz no more... They like lil wayne and all those pussies so they put it on the radio cause it sells...2nd reason is because some songs may have "EXPLICT CONTENTS"... That means they have bad words and "Inappropiate language"....

  • nice

  • all i got to say is old school over new for real. been into hip hop since the 80,s. new stuff just cant touch it

  • yo my dude OVERKILL i feel u bro im a huge fan of old school ND I CANT STAND LISTENING TO THIS NEW SHIT ON THE RADIO ITS ALL CRAP they need to bring this kinda hip hop back to the radio we need the old school back cause this new bullshit is gettin worse and worse every day and in the future our kids aint gunna kno wat reali rap / hip hop was ..

  • Ever notice that EVERY SINGLE pre-2000 (and closer to 90 the more it is clear) rap track on YouTube has comments that consist of "They don't make rap like this anymore. All the newer shit is garbage." - so.. why are those artists not coming back out with THEIR brand of rap anymore? Go read the comments from anything pre-dating the "hip hop producer" era.. its great that people feel that way, but I don't get why these artists are completely lost to us, you don't see that with Rock music. :/

  • @VisMajorX I think it might be because modrn rock bands aren't telling kids it's cool to be assholes. The whole 'bitches guns n ho' thing is offensive to alot of people and particularly irritating when the intended audience are impressionable kids.

Teenagers are often angry, aggressive and confused because of chemical changes occuring in their bodies and the people bank-rolling modern rap are basically tapping into this, go back to rap's origins and it was about making a point, not money.

  • @VisMajorX .... and all the old school rappers are old now, and mostly retired. LOL

  • Im pretty ripped but this beat reminds me of teenage mutant ninja turtles II secret of the ooze.. For some reason..

  • I'm a good rapper

  • REPLY TO OVERKILL: Probably because nowdays hip hop tracks, are often less united when it comes to the combination vocals/music. back in the dayz rap/hip hop groups did it all together (music and lyrics), with the accent on the vocals ( it's hip hop, logical) nowdays different artist dont choose to be part of a complete group, but focus on their own skill. some of us produce beats, others write lyrics, than its combined into 1 track or at least often. +music more complex -losing the essence

  • why are they blue

  • Innovation is Hip Hop. Hip Hop is innovation. I grew up listenin (to this ;D) to real old school, not what a lotta peeps on yt refer to as old school (early 90's etc), that was actually NEW school lol. But I loved all generations of Hip Hop, from the beginning right up to now. Just goes to show exactly HOW sh!t lotta the chart stuff has become now. I don't even class nor count it as Hip Hop & make sure I correct peeps when they refer to it as such. Sure my pals love me for that lol

  • saw the boys in england on the def jam tour in 87,never forget that, nice one,so many memorys

  • thats the real hip hop! fuck every fake ass bitch in that shit!

  • Damn I went to my first public enemy when I was a kid it was the best!

  • Listen to this listen to this - lis lis listen to this. "Why is it every time you brothers make it you got to leave your sister out in the cold?". Love your black sister. What does Flava Flav do? Sell out on reality TV falling in love with a big blonde white chick. Pratt on crack. As for Professor Griff. Ignorant racist too stupid to see that we are all slaves only a loser blames other people. Like Run DMC you had your time, like them you are tired and passe. Keep moaning and selling out.

  • PE and old skool 4 ever!!!

  • I see Puffy's been on here wit his ilk (cause he can't stand by himself - those vids where he standin' by himself - they removed the wires holding him up later wit computers) and marked it down 13 times :P

    Excellent post! Many thankxz

  • A comment about Flava Flave

  • because old school bands like PE tried to educate. This new rap doesn't. The only message they have is look at my cars, look at my money. PE was never about that BS.

  • PE... real MC's rappin' and a real DJ (and not only a laptop/sampler king...) - this is oldschool RAP and I know why I loved it back'n the days and believe me - this love is not dead!!!

  • public enemy #1 !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love this album! They are my favorite rap group. Saw PE in '91. Awesome. Got into the show free (hung outside concert doors and security let me and friend in) and then I got to meet PE backstage after show. Flav was cool. I died.

  • PUBLIC ENEMY#1 :)

  • PE, the real HIP HOP group!!!!!!!

  • @TXW6424 PE its not hip hop but pure old school RAP

  • no comparison to what nowadays is called "rap"... LOVE P.E!

  • Back when it was real artists that made it in rap.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawh YEAHH

  • kick it to em chuck! how low can you goooo

  • hahahaha! i know all that is spam but someone should for swear keep that. its to funny to delete. lol

its a public enemy rap video. strait spam. lol not even close! hahahaa

  • He absolutely commands the mic!!!

  • willy j drayton jr.

    Flavaaa Flaveeee!!!!

  • public enemy music is challenger music.

  • public enemy soo good. this is my competition music

  • Yeaaaahhh booyyyyy. Bring that beat back for sure.

  • @warforgedberzerker im not sure but i know that hes in his 40s

  • Im doing Public Enemy for a report for school, WOW im glad i chose them, i knew some of there songs, but now listening to like all there songs, they gott some of the best beats and lyrics ever.....politically

  • Bass for yah face, Public Enemy's still in full effect!

  • chuck d flava fav! yeeeeeaaaah boooiii!!!!

  • Can anyone explain to me why I LOVE oldschool rap and hate new hip hop?

I don't mean content, I mean soundwise, technicaly. anyone?

  • oldschool sounds raw?

  • Just my opinion. But pre Dr Dre the chronic album, production was more rough and less perfected to a clean sound. Nowadays production is made too perfect. (is that drum beat to the milli second perfect?) And too much time is spent on it. Where as before, as long as the rhyme sounded good to the beat it was good enough(rap it, put a beat to it) = raw sound and spontanious. Nowadays (let's spend a weak tweeking this to get it right) = too perfect and unspontanious, but radio friendly.

  • @bobdigi88

i hear u but there is a side of technology that helps because it helps me get a beat sounding just the way i would like it and i like that raw shit im influenced by that raw shit but i use FL studio.....i can see what u mean though....id rather it be imperfect...a half a second off with some swing......def feel wut ur saying though

  • Olds school shit is built from scratch on an MPC, not sequenced in a computer. Plus, most fools skip the bomb samples anymore, because their greedy little fucks. :)

  • @strangersound

wut do u mean they skip the bomb samples cause their greedy little fucks? if they skip the good samples they are giving more for other producers....please rephrase that

  • I just like the old school style with cool samples. It seemed most artists moved away from that...I just assume it's because it means they don't have to give up a cut in royalties. Really though, if it rocks, it's all cool. It's all good. But, most mainstream crap is being made by greedy fools trying to make a buck, not art.

  • Thanks for hitting me up with civilized discourse, btw. You don't find it much in youtube comment threads. ;)

  • lol yeah man confusion on you tube leads to e-arguments and e-gangsters barking at each other so i kindly asked for you to rephrase that ha ha

  • @overkillll - It's just cause they had the biggest beats.. Timberland sux ass against those great beats..

  • @overkillll cuz new rap and hip hop is shit hahaha

  • @AOAWHATSUP (+ its cos your gettin old like me).

  • @ogfunk187 im 14 haha

  • @AOAWHATSUP You clearly have your head screwed on the right way! Good 4 u ;) Peace

  • @overkillll thre s no philosophy in that dude (or sis :) )!!!! These new rappers believe only in money and nothing else, but PE. They are real people, common, not faking, talkin real opening our eyez, not closing them by presenting the wrong values

  • @overkillll cuz theres no hip hop anymore, not a lot of mc's, taggers or dj's out there. In the 90's 22K gold jewlery was worn in videos. Now its chains with a pendant full of cheap cuban fake dimond shit. Plus the rap/hip hop industry is more of a job now, rather then a culture.

  • @overkillll because old school was before its time

  • @overkillll Because the new artists suck. Not to mention they aren't real and they don't have good lyrics. They're beats contain far too much snare and they all follow each other in terms of sound. That's why ;0

  • @overkillll ME TOO

  • @overkillll 'couse it's pure and real:D one track worth more than a million of these new era shit:D

  • @overkillll Because old hip hop is about life,...new hip hop is about money an bitches

  • @Dreetjuhh74 word

  • @Dreetjuhh74 Listen to Lupe Fiasco, MF Doom and PetePhilly.

  • @Dreetjuhh74

But money and bitchez is today's life lol. Well, let's try to say it in an other way. The life of Black community in united states changed since 80s and hip hop changed with them, their mentality changed. Now some people don't forget about where they come from and we still got dope hip hop, like Public Enemy. Sorry for my english, I'm trying to give my point of view.

  • cuz' it's so much better :))

  • cuz' it's so much better :))

  • @overkillll it's because public enemy it's fucking modern still today and they kick butts still today....

  • @overkillll cause it's raw and not over though over produced peace of shit they spend 2 minutes on?

  • @overkillll Same here.

  • @overkillll Because back in the days, the (nowadays called "real") rap was INNOVATIVE, REVOLUTIONARY, REBELLIOUS and just DIFFERENT from other music of that time... and newer musicians (if they are lucky the love rap and even grew up with it) want to be different and innovative as well, but in order to do this, they have to turn away from the old stuff, which is not always good... it´s hard to improve something proven... but real music is not for TV and radio, but for the musicians and lovers!!!

  • @overkillll Because you can actually hear what they're saying, and they're just fucking better. Lol. And it does sound technicaly better.

  • @overkillll Dude Im totally the same! I can't stand Hip hop groups of today but 80's/early 90s stuff is kick ass

  • @overkillll because hiphop evolves and you didnt kept up ;) i am not sayin todays hiphop is as good as back in the days, but there are still talented and skilled emcees outta there. you just need to search for it.

  • @overkillll

I know what you mean. It is like.......it had a really sexy 'industrial' sound or something. Like, there's a little bit of hollow put intentionally for room for the sound to slighly reverbarate...

It fills in itself. A lot of music had that, back then. Some music not too well known has it now. Marylin manson used to have it as well.

  • @overkillll Because oldscool mc's rap about their life and they write their songs themselves. NOT all that commercial rubbish! The beat and the raps just fit with each other, by new hiphop the beat is to big. FUCK BITCHES AND MONEY!

  • @overkillll das cuz the new hip hop aint rea lhi phop its the demonic version of it, the opposite of hip hop rea lhip hop is old skool and underground

  • @overkillll Because they new good beats. Good basslines, good instrumentals. Another reason is probably because a lot of old school rap was created with real instruments, everything now is synthesized. It's shit.

  • @overkillll the passion is different. the beats and flows of old school rap sound more passionate because they're fired up about real, human, instinctive issues. today's rap is about guns, money, bitches and drugs (because it sells) and while that's all cool i personally think it's harder to get genuinely, truly fired up about such superficial ideas

  • @Sebastianisgreat NOT J.COLE OR PACIFIC DIVISION!!!!!!!!! J.COLE AND PACIFIC DIVISION ARE MY GENERATION OF REAL HIP-HOP!!!

  • @SUPRRREMEkid and lo, i was humbled before the power of capslock

  • @overkillll its the chronic. And the fact that once hip hop had a meaning, now its just cars, money, bitchez... ughh

  • @overkillll

Dig this: Chuck D said: hip hop's definition: 2 turntables, a mic and a mixer. The basics are lost! They try all new sorts of ways to "improve" their sound, but they kill the simpleness; a true strength of hip-hop.

Furthermore the vocal effort and the "depth" of lyrics are appalling. Check out Lord Finesse for example...where can you find this humor and metaphors in hip-hop lyrics today?

That's my opinion(I don't like new hip hop as well)...

  • @overkillll cause this music has style, new rap doesnt, its just about sounding as hardcore as you can and talk about all the bitches you do. also the beats of old school rap are much more interesting

gangstarr, wu tan and public is the only rap i like, all other is shit

  • @overkillll the beat and the rythm- it turns you on, I guarantee B-)

  • @overkillll

Cuz new hiphop is missing one important ingredient... Soul.

  • Chuck D is the man

  • extraaaaaaaa

  • dawm so nice!

  • listen to this

  • when this song ended i was like "bring that beat back!!"lmao xD //daNi iRani

  • chuck d is nasty

  • nobody wants to remember terminator x

seems as tho no one really noticed he left.

I could almost taste the music when he made it.

I can def. taste some off beats since he left.

Most Dj's fall off and promote the fuck out themselves and you hear them always dying to be heard.

    Terminator just made music.

Once no one was listening he opened an ostrich farm and is just chillin look it up.

    Tru artists

  • yup everyone forgets Terminator. just like I thought the beats were better with the bomb squad behind them. no worries though. PE still wrecks all the shit out there. Cannot fuck with Chuck D's voice.

  • this is good old rap all new ones sucks

  • YEAH BOI LOL

  • flaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavor flaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave
