  • got hakeem ejected 744 lakers cheating cunts

  • lakers cunts hacking rockets 6-7

  • 314 worthy 4-5 step for dunk lol

  • 314 worthy 4-5 step for dunk lol

  • 314 worthy 4-5 step for dunk lol

  • mad lakers home court constatn travels by kareem and fouls on lakers guards not called shows how much lakers hype was thier home court refs

  • Funny Hakeem Pulls Sampson from Getting In a Fight at 6:23 Then Minutes Later at Around 7:16 His Temper Gets Him Into a Fight. Hakeem had Temper Problem Early In His Career

  • y isn't sampson's jersey retired in houston

  • Love to see the Lakers go down in the forum in front of all of their phony fans.

  • maybe it's the shorts, but these guys seem to have awfully long legs

  • 1. Kareem at 39 was still dealing death.

    2. I wonder how great a player Sampson would have been if his knees didn't end his career?

  • Being a Celtics fan I have great respect for the 80s Lakers, but it's a good thing they lost this series or the Celtics would've destroyed them. Boston was unbelieveable in 86.

Note...Jabbar way past his prime and dominating against a prime Hakeem. Just goes to show how great he was.

  • @BigTimePride Akeem wasn't quite in his prime. He was in his prime during the Rockets back to back years in which he won an MVP in 93 or 94. Akeem is right up there with Kareem, plus he played with much less talented players, with the exception of the championship Kareem won with the Bucks.

  • I still can't believe the Lakers got dominated by two Big Men, they must of not of known how dominant Sampson and Olajuwon could be.

  • Kareem was almost 40 years old here. What a beast.

  • I remember watching that game and being absolutely crushed as a Laker fan.. Have to give big props for Houston in this series because they played clutch.. That was such a great game and notice how more efficient the offense was back then compared to now.. Dirk would have done well in the 80's because he played team ball.

  • Look how awesome the Laker crowd was back then. The Laker crowd is absolutely a sham now.

  • Classic stuff. At 1:08, Kareem does a "Dream Shake" on Olajuwon. Thank god for YouTube. "Hey. Hakeem, its a succa move"

  • @mcentepede ,Kareem does Kareem, but they were both great centers

  • After the double expulsion of Olajuwon I thought the Lakers had this game in the bag. I was heartbroken when Sampson hit that amazing shot. But it was still a great game!

  • Rockets were always tough. Even during the Jordan era. The NBA was just absolutely dripping with talent in the 80s and parts of the 90s. Amazing games. Much respect to the Lakers. Very talented team with a champions heart.

  • One of the craziest #%@*! games ever. Maurice Lucas misses a slam dunk that results in a fast-break 3-point play for the Rockets. Magic misses a layup at the end! James Worthy gets a sure rebound knocked away from him. Absolutely EVERYthing went right for the Rockets this game.

  • Fuck Kubcek..Bustin up Dream in the nuts. He later admitted that was planned to get dream out of the game

  • The Lakers had class. After Sampson made the shot, Magic immediately went over to congratulate him. Magic looked like he was already thinking about next year.

  • @mmcneil777 Acutally Magic had class He's the only one I saw congrat'in

  • Man, the Lakers where a 'machine'.

  • man awesome videos

  • One of the Greatest Series Ever!

Back When the NBA was Competitive

  • This is an example of what Ralph Sampson would've been like if he'd had a fire in his belly throughout his career and just forgot about the perimeter oriented skills he was always trying to incorporate. Took him being pissed off at Lucas to keep asking for the ball low and to go up every time trying to jam or finish hard. I'm talking about after this close altercation w/ Lucas, some of which wasn't captured on this video. Would've been an all-timer w/ that passion, hunger, and intensity.

  • FlipTrojan...part of that was bad coaching by Fitch. And also remember Lucas was suspended in these playoffs so he had to handle the ball a lot, their PG play wasn`t great without Lucas.

  • @FuShengAlex No, I wasn't talking about John Lucas their PG for most of the season. What I was talking about was the scrape that this footage shows between Sampson and Maurice Lucas. That got him pissed off. He calmed down, but when Kupchak and Olajuwon fought later and Olajuwon ended up in M. Lucas's arms on the Laker bench, that reaallly got him PO'd. And, w/ Olajuwon ejected, that's when they started going Ralph, exclusively, who at that point would either score or get fouled every time.

  • FlipTrojan....yes you`re right Ralph did hang out on the perimeter too much for someone of his size. But part of that in 86 playoffs was Lucas` suspension which robbed them of their playmaking ability. They didn`t have good guard play, causing him to handle the ball more than he should have been.

  • Kareem is in my two two favs of ALL TIME!!!!! and i put him above my other by like 0.000001

  • My top 2 Centers as well. Both were the 2 best "big game" playoff performers at the Center position in NBA history. But as a Dream fan, I will tip my hat and say that Hakeem really had to learn from playing against Kareem.

  • The pace, the physicality, the crowd....legends of the game hustling, scratching for every inch...They should show re-runs of games from this era instead of showing crap like the Golden State Warriors on national tv every week.

  • haha fuck you lakers

  • And great post up moves by Kareem, Hakeem and Ralph. Incredible that Jabbar could maintain playing well at such a fast paced level at an advanced age.

Look at Ralph on the baseline vs. Jabbar at 00:17. Jabbar at 1:03. And Hakeem at 2:42. Three dominating big men all playing well in the same game!!! You will NEVER see frontcourt greatness in a single game/playoff series like this again in NBA history as long as you live.

  • @FuShengAlex Akeeeeeem!, just crazy how he started playing basketball at 17, these Lakers and Rockets are a few teams that I know would take the NBA by storm if they played today, I dont think Kurt Rambis would make it in todays league lol, for someone 7'4" and up with raw agility, probably have to give that to Ralph

  • AgentCirrus.....I truly believe that Hakeem and Ralph (b4 injuries) were the big men version of MJ (Hakeem) and Scottie (Ralph). But they were both emotionally immature at this stage and veteran teams could bait them into getting thrown out of games. And Ralph tried to play like a guard too much, they had bad coaching, drug problems (Lucas kicked off the team).....and still DESTROYED heavily favoured LA on the road. Maybe my favourite Rockets win.

  • @FuShengAlex Actually, I think the 1986 finals featured a better overall frontcourt. :)

    Walton, Dream, Ralph, McHale, Parish.

  • Look at Kareem at 00:23 on the offensive glass for those who say he didn't give an effort as he got older. Great stuff!!!...Amazingly we couldn't fully shut down Jabbar at age 39....EVEN WITH THE TWIN TOWERS.

Good pickup the following year with Mychal Thompson for LA to ensure their frontcourt didn't get bullied like this again. Olajuwon was damned everywhere on 'D. Dream stops Ralph from fighting..and then he gets thrown out later for fighting, lol. This video gets 5 stars!

  • @FuShengAlex yea man he was like 40+and still doing it.

  • Scott blew the wide open two-pointer. Whatta great game. I remember it because it was showed at 11:30 p.m. on tape delay back in those days. You had to dodge all news to be in on the big surprise. And my friends were shocked and disappointed while I was happy that those darn Lakers were finally out of the playoffs for once.

  • What an amazing ballgame.. They sure dont make em like that anymore...

  • Sampson + Olajuwon were too much for a 39 years old Kareem in the paint, he needed more help.
