MS is going to bring out something new for xbox 720, HD DVD since no one owns one now as bluray is king. and it holds 80GB max enough for any game in the future. plus its copy protected as no blanks can be bought now or drives are produced anymore either. 8.5GB DVD compressed on a xbox disc uncompressed = 35GB of data to day

@gateopenope I wouldn't bother looking at these blu-ray players, just because their 2 to 3yrs old, your best bet is to get a tv with usb 2.0 (plus, make sure that it plays; mpeg 4/mp4, mp3, jpeg/jpg, gif, avi).

What`s next/ after blu-ray?

I thought dvd was sharp as hell, but blu-ray is 10 times sharper, and the sound is amazingly good.

I recommend a blu-rayplayer, and if the time comes, i will buy a recorder......a very good invention...those japanese people??? Let them ride.

think about movies guys i have 20 cd's of porn with blu ray ill shrink them all to 1 which helps a lot more in hiding it because my porn stack is getting bigger by the day so im afraid of getting caught. thats why im waiting for blu ray because thats what i did with dvd i shrunk my porn stack to half do you get it?

i really dont know what all the complaints are about blu ray.its basically the same thing as dvd except a lot better.a blu ray player can play dvds and make them look better.stick to dvd for now until blu ray prices drop to a level where anyone can buy them.

I think who ever is dealing with Blu Ray is rich and will be far ahead of the rest of us in terms of knowledge through trial and error amongst blu ray stuff.

ppl who still uses DVDs will be lagging behind, lol

but then again who really cares about extra crisp movies, but i do like the fact that it can store up to 25GB to 50GB of disk space. Thats pretty nice =)

(U.S.) BTW I wonder how complex is a Blu Ray Disc iso file and does all Movies and PS3 games on blu ray relly take up 25GB or 50GB on a dual layer disc? AND another thing why is a BLANK blu ray disc cost so much, for ONE blank blu ray disc (25GB) at "Best Buy" it cost's $21.00

I hope they don't eliminate DVD's, ever. The transition of VHS to DVD was absolutely huge I don't see why they should ditch DVD, it'd be such a waste, and they're a lot cheaper than Blu-Ray discs.

I think people should have a choice, the cheaper one that is DVD or the dearer one that is Blu-Ray, people will have no money if they want us to transfer to Blu-Ray in the quickest possible time. Plus i doubt that a recording music artist would put there albums onto a 4 to 25GB blu ray disc, it would be a waste of disc for such small data files and costly to the music industry.

So dont worry DVDs will be here pretty much throughtout our lifetime anyways =)
