Unlike most of the radio clones that keep getting cranked out of the American Idol garbage machines of the last 20+ years, a few talents actually stand out as worthwhile. SInead was definitely one of 'em. She's also damn good looking if people actually can get over seeing a woman w/ a nearly-shaved head.

i was lucky enough to see her concert at the Torhout-Werchter festival, early nineties, right after the release of this album, and her quarrel with the pope.

one of the best performances i have ever seen by any artist , and i've seen plenty.

For all the funny comments people, I actually think this video and song age well. I am here because I googled "Sinead O'Connor" and "Emperor's New Clothes" when a line from the song popped into my head almost 20 years after it was released: "I will sleep with a clear consience/I will sleep in peace." Yeah, in the day she was a little wacky but almost 2 decades have shown that as an artist she was "honest". I don't think her lyrics would have stuck with me for 18 years if she weren't.
