A Little tip re the band Dragon - IF you were impressed by this I suggest you check out the b side . A track callled Rock And Roll Ponsonby. Absolutely amazing guitar work.
I don't know why, but this song grows on me each time i hear it. I suppose it's interesting to hear what Dragon did before their pop-aspiration kicked in.
Dragon must have still been reording for the Vertigo label when they came over to Australia. After all, their first two albums were New Zealand-only releases on that progressive rock label. Do you have either of those albums, and do any of them feature Roger Dean's out-of-this-world spaceship label?
I've only heard a few tracks from those two albums... very prog-rock; nothing like the Dragon we know. I certainly don't have any videos of Dragon prior to this track.
WHAT A NICE SONG....
FIRST TIME I HEARD...

RIP Marc Hunter (lead vocalist), Paul Hewson (keyboardist and Neal Storey (drummer)

The drummer's name was correctly Neil Storey.
He died of an accidental overdose just as Dragon was breaking into the Australian market.
A great tragedy.
He, according to the liner notes, drummed on "This Time" on the "Sunshine" album.
He was replaced by Kerry Jacobson for the remained of the album.

What had Marty Rhone just done on live TV to make him a bit sore in the posterior?

In the their first appearance did they play this song or something different?

I have both the Vertigo released albums on vinyl.
Both purchased in Melourne in the mid 70's.
"Universal Radio" and "Scented Gardens for the Blind". Distributed in Australia by Phonogram. 1974.
"Universal Radio" has what appears to be Roger Dean's artwork.
"Universal Radio" has been re-released on CD

Anyone know who the rhythm guitarist is in the red coat?

Ray Goodwin - went on to John Paul Young's All Star Band and Punkz. You can see him in JPY's 'Keep On Smiling' video (NZOZ1976).

Struth. Blush, foundation, light lipstick AND blue eyeshadow! No wonder they eventually booted him out of the band...
