t would be wise for you to remain silent about your concerns. This area is sacred. It deserves to remain in it's condition only to serve to remind visitors who venture up to that site that many people lost their lives there! You sound like a nit-picking grandmother! Let this site remain as it is and if you don't like it, then DON'T go up there anymore!!!
of course this is a older video, but if you venture threw the wood nows, there are paths that have been stomped down. Follow the signs and you'll see a lot. Mostly old artifacts from the fire, but you have to see the memorial.
My father played there with the smothers brothers several times in late 1976! I still have a beverly hills cocktail napkin with "Johnny Benches" autograph on it!
No, unfortunately I was unable to be there. I went earlier on in the day, at around noon, because I knew I couldn't be there that evening for the service.
The owners of this site really have no morals at all.
I went here back in 2000 and we saw all kinds of crap that could trip or cut someone. We also saw a huge sunken area that must have been a basement or storage room. It looked dangerous. I could not but help feeling that a young kid might fall into it and be hurt
It seems that the owners still 30+ years on still have no concern over public safety. The decent thing to do is clear the area up and turn it into a memorial park.
I know that this may be hard for your 56 IQ to comprehend but even if you for example have a pool in your backyard which is fenced in - and then some kid sneaks in and drowns.....guess what Einstein? YES you CAN be sued.
I'll bet your backyard looks much like the wreckage on this video.
They believe the mafia had something to do with it cause the owner didn't want to pay the mafia

Anyone hear how the fire started? I think they said horrible electrical wiring. A few people there think it was arson.

Unsettling. This area definitely needs to never be developed, and have a memorial placed on it.

It should never be forgotten what happened here in 1977.
