April 16th marks the 4 year anniversary of the Virginia Tech Massacures. On this day I am asking everyone to please take a moment out of whatever you are doing and say a prayer for the 32 victims that lost there lives, as well as their family and friends.

@ohiostmarine29203 You know what..That is my favorite football team (or one of them) and that massacure was just plain awful .. I really hate that....But still great school Nice campus ive been before to the campus and bad for massacure but still... go hokies!

the full name is Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. that's why there is a "U" in there. It's commonly called "VPI" as well.

@rockythebull85 While a number of media types use "Virginia Tech University," it's not an acceptable name - at least according to Virginia Tech. Straight from the Virginia Tech web site:

"Our official name is Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, but using the full name is cumbersome. Thus, using “Virginia Tech” is preferable in all but formal uses... Never use VPI&SU, VPI and SU, VA Tech, or Virginia Tech University."

For old Hokies like me, it will always be VPI.
