i partly agree, but find it annoying that so much cash was flashed with the disappearance of Maddie, (i flew back from cyprus in May last year & posters were everywhere} I am not a regular news watcher & didn't even realise Shannon was missing until thurs/fri last wk. shannon was very much left in the background and i do think this is because of the parents different lifestyles
Madeleine's parents kept her in the media. Shannon was also a lot older so I think initially the authorities thought she had run away, which isn't the same as a missing 3 year old. This may have contributed to the lack of media coverage. Maddy went missing on holiday in a foriegn country, she was a baby, I think it cut everyone to the core. Unfortunately, & I hate to say it, kids of 8,9 & 10 go missing all the time in this country and we kind of get de-sesitised to it. It's wrong, we shouldn't.
