Once again, nuclear subs are more designed to operate relatively far from the coastline, whereas the Gotland class is designed to operate in very shallow water.

It's benificial for sweden and USA to do this. The american military do realy want how to defend themself against the bigest threten to a carier. And the swedish military (that do not have that big of a budgen) get payed for military training, and failtest everything that can kill the sub. It's a win win situation.

The argument of Swedish Vs American technology is silly because the military contractors that make them are multi-national.
Take the AT-4 antitank missile, which is used by Americans but designed by Saab-bofors (Sweden). Take the AC130, which is designed by Lockheed (US), but used by Sweden..
And those sweet picatinny rails that are on every nations' rifles (Sweden included).. They were invented in New Jersey-- my home state.

The Swedish is potentially saving many U.S. lives by letting us learn how to detect this, which I'm sure all of us here are grateful for. Its a good thing a the Swedish have this technology v.s. those who wish to harm us, (...and one day they will) so we need to prepare and by being prepared there will be peace through strength.

@SverigeochIndien Their navy wouldn't be destroyed, we only have five submarines and they're quite small which limits the amount of torpedoes they can carry, and it might require multiple torpedoes to sink one ship. Getting close enough to take some pictures while undetected during an exercise is one thing but once a torpedo is launched it will be pretty clear that there is a submarine in the area and some ships have torpedo countermeasures.

If we were to engage a US target it would be under sanction of the UN and NATO, meaning everyone turned against you and you'd be fucked over badly. And if you were seen as the aggressors, China and Russia gets a reason to go to war and crush what little "power" the US has left.

Sweden has one of the best fighter jets (JAS 39 Gripen) in the world, one of the best battle corvettes (Visby Class) and we also have one of the best subs (Gotland class) in the world and this is a country of about 9 millions people!
Sweden would have one of the best military forces if just the politicans in this damn country would spend some money on its armed forces!
