  • Gumby RULEZ

  • woww thanks alot this helps a ton trying to kno what mic i should buy but this is def a help

  • great test, hey it's been over 2 years since you made this, what are your feelings about it now? are you still impressed, I'm thinking of getting one, anyway thanks this sounds great and the video quality is amazing and I'm watching the 360p version, also what seems to be the setting you've stuck with the most ie the gain, high pass blah blah preferred settings...basically to save me trial and error-ring, thx.

  • Thanks for the Review Mr. Stark.

  • @jon625 You're welcome.

What gave me away? The round light shining through the picture of Jim Morrison on my t-shirt?

  • this video does not work. it stops at 24sec

  • very nice review and you have a nice setup too. Thanks

  • I hope the cute little guy doesn't run through the room, trip over the tripod and trash the whole deal.

  • @curiousnomad Wouldn't be the first time! :-)

  • nice ;) i just bought the 5D II and still loading the accu for the first time.....waiting...

  • @BryanComedy Oh no, the stabilizer is great for handheld video too. It kinda guides you around; you can feel it righting itself in your grip.

  • Why so much noise (hiss) wrote this microphone? What's the best setup? Or how to get rid of post production on this noise (hiss)?

    Thank you)))

  • @ForwardREF I don't usually hear hiss. I'll have to listen for it.

  • @genobambino

noise (hiss) in a quiet komnote (when no call) with manual adjustment of the sound level camera. Look it up yourself, but here's my present. Maybe the microphone need to be changed?

    Thanks

  • @ForwardREF Thanks for the present! It's just what I always wanted.

The high pass cutoff and gain add a little hiss, but that doesn't surprise me. Mic filters substitute effects (and artifacts) for adjustments that are best accomplished in a post-production mix. The passage with the neutral settings is pretty clean to my ears, at least for a mic plugged into the camera. If I need better I'll record off-camera. But your mileage may vary.

  • Great! Very useful!

  • @BryanComedy Actually, the IS works great in video mode. It's just that with the native mic you'll hear the IS mechanism grinding away—a big reason to use an outboard mic.

  • full frame for great depth of field. Great in low light. Shoots in 24p now with new firmware. 1080p. It's just all around a great cam. Downfall is it's so small you really have no stabilzation for handheld.

  • thanks for this, very instructive!

  • thanks for the video! !!!!!

  • your son is handsome man..lol

  • very nice review. btw you look like robery downey jr lol.

  • @hydeist667 now that you've mentioned it... he does look like RDJ. :D
