  • This video was sublime. I greatly enjoyed the zen of it all. I liked reading your description of the events surrounding this video. I saw the video before I read your description so I just thought it was an automated camera. Kudos for sticking through the rain to get this!

  • @newworldin2010 Thanks for the kind words. Makes the soaking worthwhile.

    Bill

  • Don't get too close to this video. Why? Bcuz its HAZARDOUSLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! XD

  • @Randoman35 Hey thanks!

    Bill

  • @basicbill1 No prob dude! Ps: I posted this comment at an Apple store! I'm using a public sample laptop XD

  • @basicbill1 Say what time of evening is that?

  • @Randoman35 Don't remember exactly. Probably about 7:30.

    Bill

  • @basicbill1 Hm. Wouldn't it be awesome if this storm hit at 10:00? XD It would be like it's pouring rain outside and it's like 10pm black skies and all of a sudden u c a big blue flash and then the crossing gets activated, lighting up the night with it's red glow that would be awesome! Gotta love those Illinois storms. We don't get weather like that here in the SF Bay Area...

  • @basicbill1 Except I'm not much for that crossing bell I like the RACO and WC Hayes bells. If I'm being a little too chatty, sorry

  • @Randoman35 Heh he. No problem.

    Bill

  • This is now my desktops background! (dreamscene)

I can't find any videos with a storm and still camera.. This one is pretty good though, minus the trains. Nice footage still.

  • @cool29801 Thanks for that. An older one of mine is SD quality is" Squall Line July 10, 2008 Chicago area" Another in HD is "Approaching Storm on June 18, 2010"

    Bill

  • @cool29801 If you like lightning check out my video from Missouri! :)

  • This is one of my favorites! My fiance and I love thunderstorms and we love this video!

  • @dwkcamman611 Thanks. And my camera got a nice cleaning. Heh.

    Bill

  • Wow look how low those clouds are!

  • @trainguyONR Gotta love our Midwest storms. Thanks for watching.

    Bill

  • Nice!

  • @FlyBikes089 Thanks.

    Bill

  • It did kind of remind me of a Pink Floyd concert. And..... as for the water, it rained the bottom out at Camp Randall stadium (Madison WI) in '94 when we saw their pulse tour. So here you have the parallel.

  • @mcresq65 Glad I could bring back some memories. Heh.

    Bill

  • a bit of a rainy day that day eh? lol

  • @xrecon815 Yes it certainly was.

    Bill

  • Well done but I don't know why you shot through the wet glass.........wel I do really :-)

I was going to post a response but the silly system won't let me go back far enough in my videos. It's called Australia ; Freak storm and it has hail instead of lightning plus a really old EMD unit.

  • @Rocketboy1950 Hi. Thanks for watching. I mentioned in the description that it was not shot through the car window. That's water on the camera lens. Too bad you can't post your video response.

    Bill

  • @basicbill1 My apologies for not reading the description. I often get peeved when people ask me something that I have clearly described and here's me doing it.

  • @Rocketboy1950 No worries, mate. (Am I allowed to say that being a yank?) ;-)

    Bill

  • @basicbill1 I reckon it'll be ok. Probably have Oprah saying it when she gets back home.

  • was there a tornado

  • @NYCTAFreak500 Hi. Not that I remember.

    Bill

  • Coming from both a meteorology student and a train buff, awesome is all I can say. *****

  • @theup3985 Thanks. I appreciate your dual perspectives.

    Bill

  • Awesome !!

    Bill

  • Crossing malfunction

  • @railfanstreator94 Heh heh.

  • That was one of the shortest ones I have ever seen though.

  • @railfanstreator94 Could be.

    Bill

  • I was just thinking the same "psychedelic" thing before I read your full description. Have you purchased a "rain coat" for your Canon?

  • @mcresq65 Thanks for watching. I do have a "boot" that can be used for rain protection, but I didn't think I'd need it with the camera set up in the car. I didn't plan on those gusty north winds. Camera's OK though.

    Bill

  • very nice shot, wow!

  • @spacecalander Thanks a lot!
