I bought galaxy tab GT 1000 serial No 352961048338203 warranty card No 1679390 from Dubai duty free. It has started malfunctioning within a week. When I switch it on its vibrator start vibrating and nothing appear on the screen. Sometimes the screen gets ON but it doesn’t respond and slowly blurt sometimes when I want to switch it off it does not respond. Now it’s totally dead and only the four factions’ lights in the bottom blinks

Yes I do own a Tab I bought one recently and was offered a chance of a iPad 2 recently and turned it down.
The Tab is a excellent Tablet and has a great form factor. 7" is perfect for portability and it will be even better when spacemoose1 releases a SDK or Xoom port of Honeycomb and even better still when the source code is released.
Why would you want your home screen to be just app icons? Its lame. Get a Android device and use widgets, its more produtive.

This is probably the best tablet I have ever owned. I mean, the ipad was pretty cool and stuff (playing games on it was epic) but it didn't have the features I expected it to have but the Samsung Galaxy Tablet has such as external memory, camera, free TV shows and flash.
while the ipad/iphone may be better physically designed and may have more sophisticated software on them, what they fail to do is be more customized to fit the user. Apple assumes that they know what their users want, so they design everything in their own way, with HARDLY any room for the user to tailor it to their own needs. If apple wants to keep their products ahead, they need to realize this and let their users change their devices to fit their own style of use.
From the front the Tab is easily the equal of the iPad. Then things start to go REALLY WRONG. It’s very clear that a $500 tablet is impossible for ANYONE but Apple to build without cutting corners. It not only has a PLASTIC back, but the metal-looking bezel is in fact silvered PLASTIC, and looks as fuckin' tacky as the dime-store toy-tablets that will surely flood stores soon. It LOOKS, FEELS and IS cheap crap. With LESS to offer than an iPad on top of it!
Honestly, I love apple and buy a lot of their products ... looking at the Galaxy Tab just shows me how much better it is than the iPad (maybe this will give Apple some incentives on creating a better device next time around) ... this Galaxy Tab can even make phone calls (can your ipad do that? I think it's great that more companies are getting into the tablet and smartphone markets. More players mean more competition and better products for users.
That said, I dislike the fact that this product and others are almost exact copies of Apple's iOS interface, even down to the details such as textures and animations. Are they too dumb or too cheap to come up with their own ideas? I hate to say it, but Apple remains the original innovator, while the others come across as cheap copycats.

The top bar is left over from cell phones from the 90s, icons are reminiscent of early OSes (sure, Mac System 1, later Windows and all operating systems), widgets-like items have existed since Windows 3.x, actual widgets being part of the OS in OS X, Vista/7, and part of Google Desktop and Compiz. Browser tabs since Firefox 1. What features are iOS?
@jvdthwip What's similar? That's sort of like asking, what's round about a circle. The entire device category and concept is based on Apple's original work with iPhone and iPad. Remember what tablets and smartphones were like before iPhone and iPad? I think it's great that competitors are working to improve on those ideas, adding useful features and such. But it does come across as if they let Apple do the hard work (interface design etc) and then clone it to make a quick buck.

From the front the Tab is easily the equal of the iPad. Then things start to go REALLY WRONG. It’s very clear that a $500 tablet is impossible for ANYONE but Apple to build without cutting corners. It not only has a PLASTIC back, but the metal-looking bezel is in fact silvered PLASTIC, and looks as fuckin' tacky as the dime-store toy-tablets that will surely flood stores soon. It LOOKS, FEELS and IS cheap crap. With LESS to offer than an iPad on top of it!

Honestly, I love apple and buy a lot of their products ... looking at the Galaxy Tab just shows me how much better it is than the iPad (maybe this will give Apple some incentives on creating a better device next time around) ... this Galaxy Tab can even make phone calls (can your ipad do that? I think not!) ... I'm sure the iPad2 will do better but still, I really like this Galaxy Tab, it's very nicely put together, Samsung did a great job1

So somehow a tablet that is barely 7 inches is somehow infinitely better the iPad (10 inches) at the same price? I know you want to find any excuse to hate on Apple but at least use a more rational reason. I have yet to see an actual competing Android (With Honeycomb) 10 inch tablet starting at the same exact price. The Motorola Xoom was promising but it starts at 800 dollars and requires a monthly data plan (even if you just want to use Wi-Fi). iPad only starts at $500 sigh

For instance, if the user wants ultra portability, video chat, GPS, bluetooth 3.0, TRUE multitasking, flash support, widgets, highly customizable OS, light weight, mobile access point capability, freedom from iTunes, infinately expandable storage, external speakers, lower cost ($249 from T-Mobile), freedom of carrier choice, SWYPE, ease of media share to and from any computer. Yes, for those idiots it's infinately better. But iPad IS soooo cool!

7 Inch tablets are useless to me. Thats why I have an iPad. If they had a 10 inch tab. I might buy it. Typing notes on a 7 inch tablet just wont work

@Snowdrift42 I meant what's similar that iOS did first? All modern user interface stems from early Mac System, Windows, Xerox, and some early web browsers. Granted, Macintosh was Apple but no one makes a big deal about similar user.interfaces, if it works, it works. And iOS lacks many of the options Android has. Open Source projects adapt from the best elements of other systems, why fix what isn't broke? Also, Android is free, and the innovation is in the java virtual machine environment, not ui

I think it's great that more companies are getting into the tablet and smartphone markets. More players mean more competition and better products for users.
That said, I dislike the fact that this product and others are almost exact copies of Apple's iOS interface, even down to the details such as textures and animations. Are they too dumb or too cheap to come up with their own ideas? I hate to say it, but Apple remains the original innovator, while the others come across as cheap copycats.

@Snowdrift42 What's similar about the Galaxy Tab? Things in Android that might mimic iOS are the swipe to unlock slider, and perhaps pinch zoom. The top bar is left over from cell phones from the 90s, icons are reminiscent of early OSes (sure, Mac System 1, later Windows and all operating systems), widgets-like items have existed since Windows 3.x, actual widgets being part of the OS in OS X, Vista/7, and part of Google Desktop and Compiz. Browser tabs since Firefox 1. What features are iOS?

@jvdthwip What's similar? That's sort of like asking, what's round about a circle. The entire device category and concept is based on Apple's original work with iPhone and iPad. Remember what tablets and smartphones were like before iPhone and iPad? I think it's great that competitors are working to improve on those ideas, adding useful features and such. But it does come across as if they let Apple do the hard work (interface design etc) and then clone it to make a quick buck.

@mrbigtime81 yeah of course, even though this costs like $600. seriously this is better than the ipad it has 2 cameras vs ipads zero, plays 1080p vids vs ipads 720 and guess what it's on every major network.

When apple users blame other company that they copied Idea from apple product. "They didn't look to themself". ....... People who did jailbreak to their iphone, ipad are criminals. Android users didn't do that. We download free apps from android market.
