I feel like I'm watching clips from different parts of a longer version. And there's ZERO chemistry btw the leads, he's not supposed to know she's a woman so early on.
I'm not a fan of animations, but I have to admit the Disney version was much better even from an adult POV.
@MyBakaDestiny I'm not criticising the story, the legend is a classic. And I don't care if it's a happy ending or not. What I commented on was the technique of the MOVIE MAKING!!! Despite the large scale film production this movie is rated B for a reason. Disney's CHILDREN version is better produced and directed with ANIMATED characters. The acting in this film is fine - but the director had failed to link together the scenes so it feels like clips from different episodes of a longer historical
rather unlikely scenario; how could neither of them notice each other initially in such a small pool....?

this is not about her HIDING her idenity... its about her fighting for her country, hardening her heart, act against her emotions.
But fine, if u wanna stay a kid with the happy-ending mulan for children, its ur choice.

Oh i got ya. i also saw some parts that doesnt seem conencted to each other cuz they were shot partingly, and then were edited kinda bad.
But for me i really prefer this movie cuz well it shows much more than just animated figures and gentle storyline to fit for the kids,
Too i didnt really feel theres something wrong with the parts before iwatched it for the second time :P
And yea Mulan was the movie of my childhood and she was my hero, then i like both too ^^
