it depends on the computer though. for me, im using windows 7 ultimate 32bit and it works fine.

try this step if this works. "compatibility for the game (right click the shortcut icon, select the Compatibility tab, check Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP SP3), and also checking 'Disable desktop composition' and 'Run this program as an administrator"

If any of you guys want 1602 AD themes for windows, i have a few. I swear they don't have viruses but take caution as they were made for older operating systems. They have custom icons cursors and wallpaper. Unfortunately some are in German so watch out. Send me a message if you're interested.

wow, really? doesn't work? u tried to run the window comparability mode under windows xp service pack 2, windows 2000, windows 98? u tried other options that disable something? let me know. i will find out and hope there is a way to run in windows 7.

i love to play this game but im stuck!! i never could figure out how to get my soldiers on a ship! can anyone help? :)

Move the ship next to the coast. Select the military unit(s) to load on the

ship. [Ctrl] + click on the ship. The unit(s) will board the ship. To

disembark, click in the ship's hold when you are adjacent to an island.

This has so and so much nostalgic value for me! It was THE game I played as a kid. And since then I commitd myself to keep buying the new versions, although I do not play them as often.

Anno 1602 still stays the very best.

Hopefully I find a Dutch version around here too xD

@CommanderKiller I actually wanted Age of emires or something else i can't even remember what it was and i ended up with this. one of the best games of my childhood. My game had a stutter as i remember, your people your people need a tavern, good times !
