Juan Gabriel had a unique inspiration in writing it and Rocio no doubt put all a mother can have-sleeplessness, depression, helplessness, anxiety, sadness and even suicidal thoughts- to remember her lost child. @aubyn4 - without knowing the original reason this song was written, this is still very much a romantic song from the perspective of one, who has lost a loved one --- perhaps a lover. I have watched a video clip where Rocio was singing this song while her family was watching. I could very much feel the anguish in her husband (Junior) who could not stop the overflowing tears from his eyes. Nevertheless, thanks for the info as to the origin of this song.
