Ahh Stansted got it! Was bound for LHR but due to him wanting to come early due to ash and the Royal Suite at LHR was not ready for him! Lucky guys! Awesome capture.
@alrightmyson1983 Thanks a lot alrightmyson1983, I had heard that STN was the preferred choice especially after the successul visit a few years ago. From a logistical point of view STN is probably much easier than LHR for the number of aircraft and helicopters they had over.
@irishrover63 Thanks for your comment about my #obamavisit video. Definitely a shame it was at night, but I'm pleased I was able to get there to capture this, I think it caught many people off guard unfortunately so at least one of us Stansted regulars was able to get it. Thank you for watching.
@Aviationnation10 Yeah, I had to rush over to the airport yesterday evening to set up in the hope of getting a daylight video. There were a lot of ppl there too hoping for photos. Shame the arrival was brought forward and in the dark but it's better to arrive than not at all.
@Aviationnation10 To be fair I don't think he's been to the UK many times. He was here for the G20. It's a shame he didn't stay in Ireland but I doubt this would be his last visit even if he's not in power as a statesman I'm sure he'll be back to Ireland, if nothing else but to finish the pint of Guinness he started.
@xlunatic38x #airforceone landing was perfect. It sounds like you've been fortunate to see lots of them. It's a great looking aircraft too. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice David! No trouble with police? because I guess security must be very tight with AF1 plane! and especially the night! maybe you have been filmed by MPS infra reds cameras?
@fabrice42160 Hi Fabrice thanks for your comment about my #obamavisit video. The Police were visible and keeping a close eye on events. I am a member of the Airport Plane Watch scheme and whilst we have no more rights than general public we have been vetted by police. I've no doubt I was being watched as much as the next person. Still it was nice to witness Air Force One landing again.
@ALVAREZ5534 Thanks for your comment ALVAREZ5534 I think, from reports I'd read, that he was whisked out of STN within 30mins of arrival and driven to London in a motor convoy. Unfortunately, although I had the camera at the ready, I didn't see any of that!
@Shane028 With The Queen, and Obama in quick succession, it's been a really inspiring and uplifting time, not just for people living in Ireland but also the people that live elsewhere and care deeply about Ireland. I thought Enda Kenny's speech when introducing Obama was eloquently drafted and summed things up really nicely - before the crowd pleasing Obama rally. Great to see.
@bananamanuk Its been one hell of a week for our country .... The Queens visit in its self was historic and to see her out on the street in Cork on her last day greeting the crowd was unbelievabe. She visited the Rock of Cashel which is about a 10 min drive from me but unfortunately due to security and road closures there was no hope of getting anywhere near Cashel for a look but all in all this week has given Ireland a huge lift and we'll remember it for a long time :)
@Shane028 Hi Shane028, thanks for your comment, it's so good when there is a collective uplift in spirits, goodness knows it's needed. In some ways the lockdown approach to security was a pity, but the symbolism and achievements of the visit far outweigh that. Hopefully all of this attention on Ireland will bring good things to the country again. I can't wait until I get go over again! Thanks a lot for taking time to watch my videos and for your comments. I do appreciate it.
@lauramark3883 Hello Lauramark3883, I think you are one of the many people who were disappointed that the arrival was brought forward and in total darkness, it was a shame. Did you see the 757 with Hilary Clinton? that was in as well.
@hairybearz Hi Hairybearz thanks a lot glad you liked my #obamavisit to Stansted video. Pity it was in darkness, there were a lot of disappointed people but I'm glad I was able to get 'something'. Thanks for watching.
@LeoA380 Hi LeoA380, it was certainly a smooth touchdown - probably required after the bump they had leaving Government Buildings in Dublin a few hours earlier in the car :-)
This is called Power!

Not exactly true, BO and USSS selected STN for the security arrangement and access points to London, Plus its a lot easier to getin and out.

@bananamanuk Ya hopefully but a couple of hours is a bit dissapointing after all the hype about it

After watching multiple landings of Air Force One, I think it's safe to say, it's the smoothest landings you'll ever witness for a 747.
