You do realize that your fear of a computer making decisions for us based upon the scientific method, which will be programmed BY humans, is only because of the stereotypes produced by hollywood (i.e. the Terminator series or iRobot) A.I. computers won't do anything they aren't programmed to do, and if we have intelligent people programming it then the risk of that happening. I can understand his need to defend it. There is incredible cognitive dissonance to resolve. What helped me was the contradiction in the notion that you will be rewarded in Heaven for ethical behavior. Any dog can perform for a treat. This is not true "goodness."
