  • What is the name of the piece played on the Harpsicord when MA sees the interior of Palais de Versailles?

  • Such beautiful settings..sure some of it is the wonderful Palais de Versailles....visited there many years ago and was blown away by its grandeur and beauty...they may have been eating cake, but they had a few people building great houses for them! Also in keeping with the times, the little kids are dressed like adults..weird out!

  • I was watching this in class O.o

  • The sound score does absolutely not fit nor compliment the scenes. A bad design decision in my opinion, for it destroys the atmosphere of old french regal splendor and majesty and turns it into somewhat of a parody.

  • I love watching this movie basically for the visual art <3

  • I just finished watching a documentary on her and I need to see this movie!!It's so tragic

  • @1992junekid We killed her in 1793 !!!! It's time to realize she passed over !!!!

  • 7:46 I WAS THERE :O :D

  • I just love the french history of marie antoinette!!! i went to paris and i saw the palace of versallies and loved everything about it!!!

  • what i love the most in this whole movie was the jasmine tea :)

  • where can i catch the whole movie? i adore it! oh, in english if I may.

  • where can i catch the whole movie? i adore it!

  • It is so sad to see such and insignificant actress (Kristen Dunst) attempting to play such a regal role such as Marie Antoinette. She just can't. Now, the version played by Norma Shear is timeless and eternal. Kristen Dunst is too pedestrian and not convincing at all playing a regal role.

  • @jorgeamdv I actually thought she was playing, in that part, a very young and a very surprised at what she sees Marie-Antoinette. When she was young , the whole French court was saying that Marie-Antoinette wasn't regal enough: she liked playing, having fun, pretending she was a farm girl and so on. Just an opinion, though, I'm a special neither of that historical period nor of the way Kristen Dunst acts.

  • Ooooh Part 1 how I miss thee.

  • a the costumes :'( i want one

  • this was actually filmed in the palace of versille

  • it's kind of bogus/hollywood that kristen's roughly 26 in this, but the real marie was roughly 14 during this. So at 4:32 "she looks like a child"... no she doesn't. If hollywood wanted to sell less tickets because of her sex appeal, and more tickets to another audience for its realism, they might found someone 10 years younger looking to show that she wouldn't even be in high school today, and she would run the whole country in several years from now.

  • i woulda ttly attacked one of the dudes screaming, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU STARING AT ME FOR??

  • who r those kids that were with her? r they her daughters?

  • @414caramel No, they're probably the children of the courtiers, sent to welcome her.

  • Can the courtiers be any more rude to her? Why don't they at least be polite and smile?

  • @cutepenguinVergie To make Louis XVI, then Dauphin, more comfortable.

  • I, being a huge Les Miserables fan, have one issue with this movie. It completely romanticized her life. It acts like she did nothing wrong to the people of Paris. She was the Devil to them. Other than that I love this movie. The costumes are spectacular along with the cinematography and acting. 4/5 stars :)

  • @00PhsycoticLiamb00 You're right. Antoinette was an irresponsible Queen who didn't do her duties, didn't reach out to the people, so she ended up alienating both sets of poeple who could have ketp her on her throne and kept her head. The only part of France she bothered ot see was the Opera.

  • 5:05 those clouds have got to be digital! and if not...wow! it looks just like the paintings....

  • @posterboipromotions no there real in eureope we have always awesome clouds :)

  • what the hekk! it jumps

  • Jywenth Klow - is the name of this song (spell badly wrong) but this song is now on my ipod. LOVE IT!!

  • kirsten dunst's totally american accent kind of makes it less believable..isn't she supposed to sound german?

  • i love the costumes in this movie

  • fortunes in the 18th century?!

  • i wonder if they put the nose on the actor who played Louise.

oh and when you see all the aristocrats you think they all lost their heads...

    xD

  • why were there kids in the palace? O_o

  • @x0ticShwty Because all nobles of France were required to live in Versailles- and there should be children of those nobles?

  • thanks for posting thiss <33

  • I did't learn notthing from this video

  • did you learn some thing from this video?

  • why you skipped ?

  • why do they have those little kiddies trailing behind her?

  • why do they have those little kid trailing behind her?

  • this is one of my fav. movies. i wish i was around in this time period with the high class. love the dresses and all the fun they have. :)

  • @wontonhugz hahaha disease didnt distingush between classes

  • it was: sex, money, fashion, jewelry, power, vices, youth, age all fun and games until the fucking revolution came through knocking on her mansion doors!

  • @solanut well while she wasin the mile high club her dear commoners were slaving away to make her cakes and she emptied the royal treasurey while they starved

  • well...the cutting is a little weird....but ok

  • and to think those places are now museums... it's so hard to imagine people living in them...

  • I think Louis' shyness is cuute (x Hahah .

  • hahahah i love the little ugly dogs :D

  • 5:48 there are red coats standing guard

the colour red was worn by the british army NOT the french, who wore blue

  • @kyle887923 Those are Swiss Guards, not regular French Infantry. Swiss Gaurds wore red uniforms, that appeared similar to the British army.

  • That is one of the most uncomfortable scenes. Her walking through the crowd of all those people. Some looking snoody. Just funky looking at her

  • hey um genuia. there's only part 1 2 an 3

  • nice bedroom :x

  • Thanks

  • Apple"strudel". Wonderful. I can't stop laughing!

  • "I will never forgt that you were responsible for my happiness. And that of France"

To bad that "happiness" got her killed and her family as for many other french aristocrats putting the country into turmoil. OHH well good movie tought.

  • i love the art design and the clothes even the walls of this movie

  • @da1976stone Heyy, just wondering.... do you use Blu-Ray? Because Sony was supposed to release this on Blu-Ray in February 2007, but then pulled it, and released dumb movies in place of it. :/ So, I called Sony (NUMEROUS times) and they sent my requests in, but if we get more people to call, then maybe we could get it in 2011. I have the phone numbers if interested, just PM me. Thanks....

  • @da1976stone agreed! In fact I think the costume designer won the Oscar for Best Costume Design the year the movie came out.

  • @heyheyhayhayhey In the first part, Marie Antonette is in your home country Austria. She is forced to go to France to marry with the prince (who later became) king Louis XVI

  • they all have really american accents...

  • Comment removed

  • @blip39 Well, I guess they wouldn't have British accents since they are French. I think the American accents, along with the modern music, are supposed to break everything up and give it a modern, edgy feel that's more relatable for modern audiences.

  • @Briavel1 That is the one thing that ruins the movie, I think x{

  • @Briavel1 and maybe to emphasise how foreign Marie Anntoinette and Louis are to their roles and Dauphin and Dauphine of France.

  • @Briavel1 American's couldn't even get into this movie-despite its "break everything up" modern, edgy etc attempt. Total American Gross $15 mil ( 40 mil. budget). Just FYI.

  • @eurobaby460 are you american?

  • @eurobaby460 That's where Cult Classics come into play. Most movies I come to love I've never seen in theaters.

  • @Briavel1 The set design and costumes are among the best out there. The script, acting etc are utter shit.

  • @vicprobey Thats because it was filmed on location at Versailles. Its one of the few movies out there that was actually filmed in the palace and surrounding grounds.

  • LOVE this movie! and I love the modern twists

  • she just ended up being a very very expensive bride that not even a king could offored her XD

  • its all over the place..?

  • I'm glad you posted this. A lot of people including me love this movie and love seeing it!

  • Thanks for putting this up! Now, I can do my HW at school! :-D
