First of all, several members of my extended family are homosexual and I love and respect them. That having been said, Gay marriage is wrong because the institution of marriage exists for the sole purpose of procreation and the formation of a family unit NOT only to let somebody else know that you really like them and want to hang around with them for the rest of your life (though incidentally it does that too). Why create an institution to accomplish something which is absolutely impossible?

First of all, several members of my extended family are homosexual and I love and respect them. That having been said, Gay marriage is wrong because the institution of marriage exists for the sole purpose of procreation and the formation of a family unit NOT only to let somebody else know that you really like them and want to hang around with them for the rest of your life (though incidentally it does that too). Why create an institution to accomplish something which is absolutely impossible?

Each step in the slope must be analyzed, critiqued, and evaluated on its merits.
Use "niggery" in place of "gay" next time you want to call something gay (it the derogatory way), better yet, do it in front of some black people, then see what reaction you get.

Unless you can say that you have sexual attraction for both males and females but CHOOSE to ignore your attraction for males, you have no case. Even then, it just means that you are bisexual and just can't admit it. If, however, you are only attracted to females, with no descision making process involved, how can you say that a man that is only attracted to males has made a choice?

I lost my father when i was 5 so my mother raised me and 2 younger brothers. i didnt need a father figure to tell me i was supposed to be with girls not boys and i didnt have to tell my younger brothers that being gay is not right either. The same way atheists get married, there are many options for a secular marriage, it's not just limited to a courthouse, all you need is a Justice of the Peace, marriage licence and witnesses, the location and degree of "ritualisation" is variable.

Agreed, same-sex couples should be able to get married by law however no one should force any church, mosque, temple, kingdom hall, scientology centre or whatever, to marry a couple they are bigoted against.
