  • this is awesome ^.^ thx from Canada!!!

  • Great recipe and really good instructional video. Thnx for sharing with us.

  • Going to follow your recipe with the laptop on the kitchen counter. Thanks for this. Adding ham to customize it a little bit :-)

  • @SadieDammit Sounds delicious :)

  • I love listening to your voice

  • Very nice. I like to use russet potatoes and waxy potatoes in my potato leek soup. The russets will cook down to a creamy texture while the waxy potatoes will hold their shape and give the soup a bit of texture. Your recipe is a very tasty one that is so good on a winter evening!

  • cant beat these simple recipes , i personally like it chunky so i leave the blender out

  • thank you chef, my nieces like your soup

  • I tried this. Loved it !

  • I just made this - omg... Why haven't I tried it sooner...? Thanks for the awesome recipe. For me this made about 8 cups, and I used about 4 cups of chicken stock, and about 1 cup of extra water to cover it.... YUM!!!

  • It's also good for the summer. You can serve it cold. It's called a vichyçoise.

  • man

i shouldn't look this videos when i'm hungry

    nah... let's keep watching xD

  • can you make a cheese foundo ?

  • Its nearly 3am but your videos somehow always make me want to just get up and go cook :)

  • Made this yesterday, was feeling adventurous so I added a small onion. Turned out delicious, big thanks OPC.

  • every time you taste your food i almost cry :( I want your food >:D

  • What about a dollup of sour cream or cream ; makes it more savory.

  • Can i use only water instead of chicken stock???

  • @stronguy20 Not really, as it won't have a lot of flavor ;)

  • perfect timing. im over stocked on potatos and have run out of ways to use em. gonna give this dish a whirl tonight looks great :D

  • Looks fantastic, and you're still great!

  • Knowing me I would have added a little heavy cream at the end but it certainly wouldn't need it. Great video and I could listen to your voice for hours. Many times before sleep, I will watch your videos bc your voice is so soothing and relaxing. It's wonderful to see someone doing exactly what they were born to do, in your case thats great cooking and great communication skills. :o)

  • Hey Dave, your recipes rock. I made this soup almost exactaly this way but I used beef stock and found out it made a slightly hardier flavor. I recomend it very highly and hope you try it.

  • thank you for introducing a soft, smooth taste soup~

  • i just made this!!used onion as i didnt have leeks!omg!it was so yummmm!!!!!my parents loved it!thank you so much!!!

  • looks amazing!!! i might just make this

  • Verry nice :D I love soups

  • ohh thank you soooo much!! I suggested this !! =) I appreciate it !! cant wait to try it out !! keep up the GREAT work !!

  • hey, a quick question. i have always thought spring onion would be a good alternative to leek. but they always end up burnt in seconds. so the proper alternative is just the onion, as in the bulb? tq

  • @ravniac Yes, it would be better to use an onion instead of spring onions for this soup ;)

  • Winter there. I get it. Opposite Hemisphere.

  • @MistressPoettax96 It is here ;)

  • Totally forgot it was winter there where you are LOL My mom's best friend comes from Australia and always makes her trips during our hot season!

  • mmm i love leek ... that reminds me, I need to get my roof fixed

  • How can you make this thicker

  • @zzzyashiezzz make it watch jersey shore

  • @zzzyashiezzz Add less stock or add more potato ;)

  • whats a leek...

  • @bigbaffledbaffoon123 It's like an elongated onion with a slightly sweeter taste. It's also the national symbol of Wales ;)

  • @MistressPoettax96 it is in parts of the world.........

  • Could you add sour cream to this?

  • @klmk1984 Absolutely ;)

  • Looks absolutely delicious. I'm going to try this when it's colder here. Right now, we're at 32 Celsius.

  • i split my leaks down the middle and soak in water. lots of sand. awesome soup bro

  • Loooove this! Just what I need to make up some meals to freeze :) Thank you once again!

  • So what's a chilly day for Down Under? I'm curious. The soup looks amazing!!

  • @HomemadeCafe It was very cold last night. It got to about 5 degrees Celsius. I know thats not as cold as some places, but I'm used to 25+ degrees year round!

  • I love you Mr One pot chef!

  • I love how you release a video about soup when its 97 degrees where I live right now. Maybe I'll just blast to AC til its super chilly and have some of your delicious soup! The sacrifices we do for you! :D

  • Looks good enough to eat. Have you ever made it by only blending 1/2 of the recipe, thereby leaving some chunks of potato?

  • I'm always up for some soup....this looks good!!

  • i'm definatly going to be making this. live in Utah and we still have snow on the mountains its nuts! plus ive been wanting to try this since i saw it on a game i played when i was little ^-^

  • when I make this, I always finish with a tub of half fat cream.... it takes the hole thing to a completely different level. I always make this in the summer. Keep it in the fridge and serve it cold, on a hot summer day with a few slices of baguette.... delicious classic Vichyssoise... or white gazpacho...

  • Thank you for the Yummy recipe will make it for my family

  • those blenders are SO excellent for blending soups!!!!

  • Great and easy recipe.

Here in Brazil we have fall/winter also.

Temperatures in 15 to 18º celsius.

    Xoxo

  • 10 thumbs up David.... Luv & Hugs from Texas - Sherry

  • I had this one with little pieces of chopped Ham and a dollop of crème fraiche.

    But also good without.

  • It s getting colder? Here in Germany the summer starts :)

  • Cute hahaha

Next video give me a shoutout or Subcribe,

It would mean the world to me.

  • @youtwitfacebabe I don't really do shout outs on my channel - I just cook ;)

  • i hate winter

  • @xWithBrokenWingsx Me too - but I'll take a cold winter over a scorching summer :)

  • Will have to try this one out.

  • looks delicious! too bad it's going to be scorching outside today and definitely not soup making weather XD

  • I'm in Ireland and we don't seem to be getting summer this year :( So I'll be having this later to warm myself up!

  • @iLikeCookie88 Ireland gets summer? ;)

  • @TheNakedWombat LOL! Not really.. just a slight ease in rain xD

  • @iLikeCookie88 Ireland has two seasons - June and Winter ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Haha, sad but true!

  • I have these growing in my garden bed. Going to give it a try when I harvest them. Can I do a VR to this video when I make this? Paula

  • ooh i can't wait to try this!

could you consider making more vegetarian dishes? so far i've only been able to make your desserts...

and they were delicious, so i already have an idea of the yummy-ness i should be expecting (:

  • wow, this is very timely. i got some potatoes and leek in the store. :))

  • Great version, and you didn't skimp on the garlic!

  • can I leave out the potato and leeks?

  • @robjnixon Obvious troll is obvious hahahaha :P

PS: Loved your Butter Chicken recipe mate ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow what does a leek taste like? i have never had one.

  • @thebowlzack It's tastes kind of like an onion, but has a slightly sweeter flavor ;)

  • @robjnixon LOL

  • This is one of my favorite soups! You should try Groundmeat-Leak-Cheese-Soup!

  • Its 82 here in Malta but i am still having this lovely soup for my lunch, thanks for all your lovely ideas and keep up the good work

  • try it with a swirl of cream and a little nutmeg

  • LOL @ Winter in summer! :-D (looks great!)

  • Can I use green onion instead?

  • @ZivEstVeritas If you prefer - I like leeks as they have the flavour of onions, plus a bit of sweetness :)

  • @OnePotChefShow question : What do think of Epic meal time?

  • @yihanglee Funny at first, but kind of over it now ;)

  • traditional. : )

  • I do love this recipe but I like to blend a tiny bit of Stilton cheese in to it for that rich, mature taste. Not everyone will like it but I think its great.

    Keep em coming mate!

  • @themannyxx The Stilton fans out there will adore that :)

  • OMFG YOUR EYES ARE BEAUTIFUL

  • I'd give it a go if it only wasn't 35°C where I am in Italy.. Damn

  • @JoesPlaying Save it in your favourites for winter time ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Yeah.. I got half your channel prepared for winter, lol also I'm still looking forward the chocolate peanut butter fudge, can't find the damn peanut butter :/

  • @JoesPlaying Have you considered looking online for the peanut butter? I often find international food items on eBay, and a quick google search might find a site with cheap prices ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow I did but all the sites where I looked had 5 or more days of shipping, and I still have a few shops that I didn't visit yet, I'm starting to think they don't want me to commit a sin on that fudge, LOL

  • nice vid... i love tasty soups on a cold day
