Thank you so much for your videos. I beleive I am going through a spiritual awakening HOWEVER I have struggles with depression for years and I have trouble deciphering what is the truth. It comes and goes. I am ready for my depression to lift for good.
if i have bipolar disorder how can i see in my dreams places and name of the people exactly my husband have been florting. i did not even know them. even yesterday i hit the jackpot in my dream that he was hidding something from me. as i told about my dream to him. he was shocked i did not understand first why he was shocked and he confess what he was hidding.so am i or my sister hallucinating ? i believe i am doing astral projection, travel to the future.

@bipolarorwakingup While i was watching your videos i couldn't relate, maybe in some things and i know there is something going on with me. But as soon you started going on about bipolar mania on video 2 i was gobsmacked, i ticked every box. Thanks for putting in the effort on this subject, you've probably helped so many people you don't even know.......Thanks Buddy:)
i fail all of the checks. my grooves are really deep to make up for my damage though. my theory is that the brain can't handle dopamine and it fries us, especially those with abnormal brains. Anyway, God is love. Most bipolar want attention. They're making up for something they're lacking.
Well what if you are projecting imagines from inside to the outside i,m going through a episode this year i am a sophomore in college and i am going fucking crazy i feel depressed ... awaken .... happy at times ... free ....lively and symphonic... i am starting to belive i am a vampire and angel ... i do feel i am being tested by god and that i going through a cleansing process :p
@jongmyoungx Its more complicated than that. Sorry for the delay on the network. I've got a lot happening here in Brazil and I haven't been able to commit the necessary time to it yet.
@SharonvanH Thank you for the translation. I think most translators put some sort of country code in front of the title. Just a suggestion. Also, are you in the Netherlands? Soteria Netherlands might appreciate the translation. They are trying to open a clinic to help people work through their processes.
havent been able to post...sorry if this comes x10!)Have you thought about what sort of set up would be ideal as far as how to support people going through this on all of the levels...from my experiences the compassion is there with the hospital staff...if they were educated with these insights as at least part of their training, and if more of us who have been through it our selves were to become involved with the care side of things... I wonder what it will look like... a new model of care.
My soul is dancing, time is standing still. My facebook status a few days ago was "The past is never late. The future is always behind. The present is right on time." -Homohawk." I won't even begin to explain, "Homohawk," but lets just say it all makes sense now. ;-) Everything that I have experienced in the last week seems to have been documented by you as it occurs. I am certain that I am in the middle of a manic episode and would LOVE to communicate with you about it.
Great work bipolarorwakingup this is HUGE and needs to be out in the open not suppressed by the system. Thankyou for waking me back up. ive found it all just too much lately and this is just what I needed thanks x
I didnt mean some illuminati conspiricy shite, I just ment the system is in a rutt and is stopping thousands of people completing the proccess by pumping folk full of meds or telling them they are nuts. so if they figuerd it out or not the system is "suppressing" there natural thought process. in HUGE I just meant there are thousands of people scared to mention these thoughts because of the reaction caused by that very system/folk
@jeddbowman Thanks man! I've seen so many people with conspiracy theories on Youtube I thought you might be heading down that sorry path as well. Nice to hear that you are so clear headed!
This is a beautiful integration of all of the work you have done over the past few years. The way you have put it together makes me slap my hand to my forehead and shout out "of course!" This last video is a premium example of the whole is bigger than the sum of its parts. Once again, well done!
I have been exploring myself and the multiverse for some time now, by means of neidan, meditation, metafysics, you name it.
And I have had quite some spiritual experiences up until now, but never anything like this at all. Would you say that going through a spiritual emergency in this manner is a necessity to be able to evolve spiritually? (The question is directed to anyone by the way ;) )
@MittensBabu Maybe not "necessary" but that does seem the way it is set up by life, just as birth its self is a trauma that leads to life! I pray for calm gentle transitions in our growth, and sometimes it is gentle and gradual and sometimes it is shocking and sudden... no matter what life is a spiritual journey... it is not a life with some spiritual events... we are wakening up to it's spiritual reality through some events... The bipolarorwhakingup guy has summed it up well. Blessings
@MittensBabu Great question. Well, the great thing about Ken Wilber's work on consciousness (see video #21) is that he shows us how we have been spiritually evolving throughout history and throughout our lifespans without even realizing it. So, certainly a successfully transitioned spiritual emergency can be a great leap forward, but its not necessary. However, I do think as you get into higher levels, often difficult spiritual experiences are bound to pop up!
How can we ever get the doctors to see the light and stop the madness of preventing people from awakening to this wonderful reality! I dealt with the doctors who threatened sever things would happen if i didnt take there drugs. I didnt and my life has been amazing as i live a well balanced life!
@bipolarorwakingup Well its a long one but to make it short, mine is very much like yours. I was involuntarily put into psychiatric unit at hospital by police who thought i was behaving "oddly" I too was labelled and was told i was ill. I know if anything i was closer to being ill before my experience. My awaking is the greatest thing that could have happened to me and i would love to share it with everyone and anyone who will be open minded enough to listen! I would LOVE to chat 5193013213
Great video based on simple truth and logic, shame doctors and drug companies can't see it this way. Guess their motivations are based on ego's and money so it will take them a long time to understand.
spiritual emergency story. I found myself asking repeatedly "What is truth?".My 10 year old atheist daughter said "Oh Mum, I know what truth is. Give me your left hand". She touched the thumb. "That's honesty", the index finger "Trust", middle finger "Happiness", ring ringer "Love", little finger "Reality", palm of hand "Forgiveness", clenched fist "Faith". "You are born in your truth hand and grow into your Greed hand". "God tells us this but we forget" ???!!
Sean, This is indeed a remarkable body of research. I found it quite by chance when looking for ways to convey to my fellow psych students here in Sydney Australia why for me experiencing what I might now call a spiritual emergency at 41 was the very best thing that ever happened to me.
That first episode was in 1998 and I have experienced many since (all good) but long ago gave up describing them as spiritual in the face of modern psychiatry. I wish I had your questing spirit.
These are remarkable insights you make. There are those who may need to be put on drugs and those who may not and this is where people should be directing their outrage so more lives are not needlessly reduced to a living hell, where hope is snuffed out and suicide can be seen as the only option.
@BillOAwesome nobody needs to be put on any psychiatric drugs period. there are destructive and mind numbing and deadly sean touches on that in his videos. theres no such thing as mental disorder its all one big lie to cover the spirit world from people study illuminati and psychiatry
Sean - I am so glad you and your wife are opening a clinic to help people through their spiritual emergencies. I read in John Breeding's book "The Necessity of Madness" that the Austin, TX ,area used to have a very client-centered clinic like the one you propose, but it seems to be gone now. It was called Birch House. There's apparently a similar facility in San Diego, according to counselor Jim Moore, who wrote the book's forward. Love your work. Keep it up!
Once again an amazing work. You are so meaningful for so many. I´m so happy that you keep sharing your wisdom, hope you continue, you do a very important job! Many blessings! Namaste
Sean, i am a psychotherapist in Austin and have been following your videos for awhile. Let me just say that this 3-part videoseries, where you link spiritual emergencies, bipolar, and schizophrenia to levels of consciousness, is one of my favorites. I share your ideas with my clients and they find them very helpful.
Commenter, it means a ton when professionals in the field appreciate my work! And I was especially sensetive with this series, because, as I said, most of my contact with those suffering from schizophrenia was through secondary research. Thanks for watching and for sharing my work!
Hey man, thank you so much for all your vids. I love them all, you are obviously a very intelligent and compassionate man. You would make an excellent teacher because you explain things so well, yet are very open and modest in your tone. God bless you man.
Wonderfully fleshed out work Sean. Yes, the factor of trauma load is the determining factor for severity of symptoms. Intensity of IMPOSED repression also....which (in my opinion) is abuse in the guise of 'education' , socialization, productivity, employability, gender expectations, etc. Jaynes makes these points (somewhat) in that book arguing for the development of the egoic self. First rate work!....Ech....I have so much more to say but only 46 more characters left......Repression again.
Sounds good. IMO, many people with schizophrenia are psychic and are more open to receiving spirits (good and bad). The channel to the spirit world is open for you. I hope they help!
Thanks for another video. I just arrived into my house really tired (don't ask...) and I'm going to watch it tomorrow ( I mean, today, afternoon. Don't ask...)
I guess my own experience is different because I am more of a "spiritualist" but because of the amount of psychological awareness I have, and because of other "abnormalities" in my perception (being an extremely sensitive person with synestisea thus meaning I constantly "see things") I am very CAREFUL about telling people my perceptions because, If I tell people they have bubbles flying out of their heads, or that the whole room just turned red, I'm going to have problems!
In the term, "spiritualist" I guess that would include for many an idea of mediums and talking to the spirits, but I'm more of a believer that there are "spirits" both human and non-human, and that there is obviously some kind of hierarchy within those areas, but I have more of a Jainist system of understanding the theoretical structure of the world "invisible". But as I said, I express these things with great caution because many psychologists believe these as "mental illness" signs.
It's how we are taught to think about them in relation to ourselves. Even better or worse has it's own connotations. As for me, I learned as a very small child that if I had a bad feeling "defined for me" as feeling angry or sad, that meant "I" was bad and "shouldn't" feel that way. Otherwise, god forbid, someone might have to take notice and support me in some way. Separating my feelings from my own identity has been an enormous life long task.
From my own experience, multiple or mixed diagnoses are very common and there is a lot of overlap from what I have seen as well. I've been dX'ed everything from bipolar, schizoaffective, OCD, you name it! I think a second question is are there other causes rather than purely mental stress, which I believe there are and even among mental illness, a lot of these things such as physical health and awareness, life skills need to be learned.
I am curious to see part two, I believe life experience has a lot to do with it, parents, trauma and general life experience as well as the "fruit salad" you were born with.
Oz, aren't you in Seattle? Are you on the net at 6am? Anyways, thanks for all of the support for these 3 years. I think you have probably been the first to post a comment on at least half of my videos!
