  • My bunny just died because of this !Q.Q !!!!:(:(:(:(

    Damn you nature!!

Its awful to see and its a hell for the bunny:(

it was just in 1 day, and we didnt notice or even see it, and after the night..its just horrible!:(

    RIP:(

  • My rabbits are both almost two years old, and they are doing fine! But They are being spayed in 3 days and I'm worried about what could go wrong. D:

  • I had a rabbit about 4/5 year ago who has this, I'd never even heard off it. Sadly it got bad to the fact the was sort off limping and falling and stuff....When the vet told me what it was i was confused cus id never heard off it before! Wish i'd known earlier.

  • my house rabbit died friday morning from fly strike, he did go outside also, but in summer flies come inside and incubate easier, because of food etc. I even checked him 3 days previous, its something that rabbits frequently get, i wish i couldve done more to save my boy but couldnt!!

  • When the larvae eat away at the flesh does it leave open wounds? Or do they just bore through cleanly without causing any bleeding?

  • how do they get it? just by going outside? can cats get it?

  • @Bunomous yes but it's less common. for your sake i advise you not to look at youtube videos showing it.

  • Oh my gosh ... this video was ON SPOT

It is exactly what my doe has... thank you soooo much!

  • The moral of the story is keep your bunny inside unless you want it to get eaten alive by maggots.

  • My rabbit of 5 years had to be put to sleep today, after I discovered a horrible injury like that shown in the video, multiplied by about 10x. I thought she had been attacked, but after seeing the video I'm pretty sure she had fly strike; she needed frequent cleaning. (My bunnies live indoors/outdoors on the porch.)

I did my research, but this I had not heard of. I am so sorry I did not see this sooner. I would have kept a much closer eye on DeLilac, the sweetest bunny in the world, RIP.

  • Thats why, people, that you shouldn't keep your bunny outside!

  • my rabbit had it but we saved him :) i love my bunny too much to lose him
