the entire thing is so amazing, but one of my favorite parts is 00:41 when he does that small contratone (excuse my spelling) into the walking. its shows how amazing his legs work and the detail that he puts into every moment that he is onstage.
Hmm! It seems to me that there is sometimes a fine line between having an "easy" technique and looking careless. I just wish he would always straighten out both his legs when he jumps - often the trailing leg is not stretched fully.
@Pearlaceous Funny, I think Tsiskardize has THE most gorgeous grand jete in ballet. His back leg is sometimes bent, but that's a step in itself . Wathc his entrance jetes from La Bayadere - there his legs are VERY stretched, as they are supposed to be. Of course, not everyone has to like him...
@OnlyBallet Actually, I do like him :-) and I especially love his joie de vivre here, which clearly connects with the audience. His dancing is powerful and seemingly effortless - I would just like him to be perfect *all* the time!
Indeed, Vaganova school of St. Petersburg is very strong, but this dancer in particular was getting his ballet training in Moscow State Ballet school and partially in Tbilisi, Georgia. Cheers :)
LOl, that was funny, because in a way I feel the same with some dancers but I couldn´t find the word for my feelings, some bore me to death, jet still they must be good because they are there in good conpanies for a reason, but even worse, I understand now,my feelings to a ballerina I would´t name:she really annoys me.Not the case of Tsiskaridze, I loooooove him

It is a shame the Bolshoi doesn't do Sleeping Beauty more often, especially when you have such a great Prince Desire in Tsiskaridze!

He was trained at the Bolshoi though, not at the Vaganova academy
