why? because pedaling 20 miles to work in the morning is a little too strenuous for most people. an electric bike makes that much easier and would allow more people to dump their cars. pretty obvious really.
Why not just pedal a bike? Design won't save the world. We can't reinvent the wheel in hopes of saving ourselves. Why not just give tax credits for biking? Maybe some decent initiatives to have safer bike lanes or bike-friendly towns? Why is everything that is supposed to save the planet seem to have a price tag? Why not nation-wide mandates on recycling?
