u can play it, but too much rush for your accurate technique, but i know on piano its more difficult. I recommend slowly training, much weeks of playing slowly training fingers, and then it may get the soul. Its interesting to play the first note of each bar like a 4th note (pause after hitting the first note and then playing the rest of the pattern like one sequence untill next 1st note of the next bar, this pattern will be repeated in the finish. I learned playin it better with that kind
This piece is that we let the rhytm talk.Evenness is important.I think that you can improve in this extent.Overall it is not bad but not good also.Keep investigating!
Lot of assholes in the comments. I thought it was good. I didn't hear many mistakes, and the few I did hear were not very bad ones. Also, the "mood" thing someone below me mentioned is BS. When you play someone else's music, there's not much you can really do other than to play what was written. I really hate it when pianists try to force emotion onto the piece by overusing pedals, playing quietly and then loudly, etc.
For all those people saying that the tempo is too fast: shut up. When you learn a Bach piece, you start slow then build up to insane speeds so that playing normally feels more comfortable. There's no point in every piano player in the world posting this song on Youtube. The most you can do is brag about your max speed. And this guy has speed. I've been learning this piece in the last 2 weeks and can already play it at Gould speed perfectly. If try to go as fast as this guy and my hands freeze.
What is wrong with you? Haven't you learned by now that Bach's Prelude in C minor craves a much slower speed and more accents, not just by showing off and playing fast. The most beautiful part of the whole piece (not according to your playing) happens at 0:50- 0:57 . And I couldn't hear any of the voices of that section. Thank you, you killed it.
@hhaleybluee allegretto doesn't mean play quick and sloppy. The piece is supposed to be played swiftly and crisply or else the notes mash together and the original chord structures are completely lost.
haha. its supposed to be fast. you dumbasses. look at every other person that has played this. its probably faster. and, id bet you couldnt accomplish this if your life depended on it.
you chose such a fast tempo! it takes a lot of work to get to that fast of a speed without tensing up.... im working on it myself and im going a little slower than the written 108 beats per minute. im just browsing for other versions to improve my own. but seriously dude dont post it then call it boring and then deny that its a fast piece, especially since your tempo is way up there. sheesh its called being humble
There are other videos where people can enjoy the suttle medley of the piece but funnily enough I was searching youtube for a rendition of this piece where it's played fast. Found. Enjoyed it. Bravo!
Lol WONDERFUL. I give you like. Um. Some thumbs. BACH IS NOT LAME.. it's wayyy better than having to listen to lady gaga and all that lame hiphop all the time.
I think you need to take more time to practise this very slowly. Many of the notes are uneven and one hand often races ahead of the other. It is crying out for a bit of clarity and control.
Xslayer51 you obviously have no clue what your talking about. This is way too fast. Don't get me wrong he plays it rather clean but its still too fast. So before you put in your two cents learn to play it first.
Ok. It is Allegro Vivace, you play it Prestissimo like I do. It sounds just great to play as fast as you play it. And it is just much more fun to play it faster. Every musician intérpretes music his/her own way. That's the point IMO. Good jon dude!
@bazonce911 do you have a copy of the sheet music with accents init? if you do i'd like to see it. maybe it has a guide to the tempo for your metronome or all the dynamics in it too. id like to see it....
One would expect me to be a fast typer, but I really am quite average or below average (and that even though I'm typing with 10 fingers and am used to computers a lot).
It's not really the fastest piece in the world either :)
"rather boring, I guess" ??? Is it boring or isn't it? Do you prefer other music, or do you like Bach better and just catering to people who don't get it?
yes, the tempo for this son is 144, for 4.... but... i blieve that... if you play it so fast, you too must take care about the piano-forte effect, because, this song have many diminuendo's and crecendo's, that you must respect too, i prefer, personally, this song played slower, it gives more expression at the song, and makes more sweet and melancholic the listener's feeling
I like this prelude faster as well; as someone has already said, the prelude is marked Allegro and Presto (respectively), a couple of the few non-dynamic markings that Bach made in any of his music. If this piece is played too slowly the repeated harmonies in the same texture would drive me crazy. We'd be here forever. I love Glenn Gould, but I don't think his recordings, even of Bach, are always definitive. I think his recording of this piece is too slow; the texture requires a quicker tempo.
I don't know what others are comparing this to say it's too slow, maybe Gould. But I think this is played correctly, according to most versions I've seen, tempo wise. His allegro is allegro and his presto is presto. Don't know if Bach marked that on the original but I think this guy nails it.
the tempo was alright in the beginning but then it got too fast a few measures later. the part where the tempo turned to presto was good. and i disagree with your description on how this piece is boring.
Because you know how fast it's supposed to be played right? you probably like the 'original' version, it's an interpretation, and he played it well, like it would sound on a clavier.
when your left hand is playing on the white notes try to keep it in between the black notes instead of having to do those jumps, also at some times try to keep your wrist higher, but other than that goodjob
Well, not boring for everyone - its got a mathemetical, logical touch of the inimitable mind of the master. Dont think you need to play that fast though.
Every other comment on these videos of people playing preludes is complaining about the tempo. I thought Bach didn't write any indications of what the tempo should be...am I wrong? I don't think I am... so how can you people complain?
well at times, this tempo isnt consistent. but then lol...you have to be like a master to have perfect tempo, especially with this piece. i'd say his tempo is perfect through 90% of the piece.
mais n'importe quoi! le tempo est parfait, en clavecin, c'est celui ci ! et puis quand on est même pas capable de jouer.. mieux vaut ne pas critiquer!
Very good technique, but I think that the allegro part was too fast so the Presto part did not sound as Presto (almost no difference in speed). Congrats!
This is no way to fast! This is the perfect tempo for this particular piece, and if you are of another opinion then it's simple because your brain isn't fast enough. ;-)

Okay, most of the comments suck because they dont know anything about music/bach.
You played the piece very well, except for a big rhythm mistake at the "Ardagio" part.
It's very difficult to play such a piece clearly because mostly the left hand slows down a bit and its not clear.
so
