In High School electronics (about 1986) my electronics teacher was so upset at some bad deal he got at a local Appliance store,He had us make these from scratch,making our own PCB's and adding the required parts.Ours scrambled the signal coming in via the air,worked in close proximity,30 feet max. We ,his loyal students were to go to a local store near us, flip the switch and toss the unit in the trash. TV's would not return to normal until they emptied the trash at the end of the day!

Tip for young players, always put the Micro controller in last. Micro's are very sensitive. Soldering irons depending on their quality can produce EMF which will travel through the circuits that your soldering and COULD fry the micro. Also if your working on a board with voltages greater than 5v and you accidentally short 2 tracks out and 1 of them was somehow partially connected to your micro, instant death.
