  • does that tele have a b-bender? :)

  • なんか琴線に触れる曲ダギャ!

  • Jones has the mandolin, 12 string guitar and six string guitar necks on that triple neck. Bass with those foot pedals he used.

  • @jwjbain, jones' tripple neck is a mandolin on top, 8 string bass center, six string guitar bottom...

  • if both jimmy and jones are both playing guitars, and jones is a fantastic guitar player, who's playing bass?

  • @jwjbain that triple neck has something bassish on it i think?

  • @jwjbain nvm hes got synth pedals yo

  • @dahudge14 yeah I think it does. I want to put one on my tele. 😊

  • Jimmy playing his 1953 Fender Telecaster...Nice

  • Does the tele have a B-Bender on it?

  • What a classic! Still in love with Zeppelin 30 years later. My life has been terrifically enhanced because of their genius and brilliance. Thank you, thank you

  • Pagey scagged off his head in 79 with his b bender tele & phase shifter pedal.I am getting a tele like his with the parsons/ white string bender this month .

  • Greatness in action here my friends.

  • I believe goosebumps are in order.

  • My best friend, r.I.p, turned me onto zep at 19. This song means so much more to me than many. Jimmy page is the most perfect guitarist ever. :) good memories with my friend though some sadness since we can't jam out to it together anymore.

  • This is the shortest 7 and a half minute song i've ever heard. maybe i love it so much that time flies by when i hear it.

  • page kicks claptons ass anyday bring it on

  • They just make it look so damn easy. And 30 years gone, nobody else can do it. It gives me reflection, sadness, confusion.

  • @ltschmidt02 Well said...

  • been a fan of zep since "75",,i'm 52 now and still in awe!!!!......oh and the thumb nails seem to be HD,,,,,cool!!!!!!!

  • JPJ playing 3 necked git/mandy And playing bass pedals Wow.

  • I love the way Jimmy moves...plays..everything about him...So much sex appeal.

  • @Kizzie20111 even when scagged off his tits Pagey was and still is a great show man live: he didn't just stand there, he was exciting to watch!

  • if page is sloppy, i want to be sloppy when i grow up!

  • DAT SOLO!

  • Fun fact: this song would have been on *the* Led Zeppelin DVD but Jimmy used a different amp so the guitar wasn't properly recorded

  • wtf how is jimmy sloppy he doesnt mess up for shit...hes all drugged up at this concert and he plays the rain song perfect and doesnt mess up...that proves hes the god of guitar

  • jimmy's definitely not turned up enough in this, especially during the solo

  • NO mams me encanta esta rola NO cabe duda que el rock de esos tiempos era otro pedo!!!

  • common! live music is not the same with the big music these days. Bands have have synthesized back up or half a dozon stand-ins to help recreate their recorded music. When the drums kick in and when they balance in the John Paul's guitar(not until the g-solo) it sounds amazing either way. Some people are about live music and other simply want to have the studio song totally recreated. Live is and should be different. Those who disliked this need live-music time & learn to appreciate it

  • Oh does this bring back memories

  • Thanks Man, one of my Favorites.

  • I've never actually seen anyone play a b-bender lol

  • Pagey's B Bender! AMAZING!Zeppelin live and Zeppelin Studio..always 2 amazing versions of one song..

  • Pagey's B Bender! AMAZING!

  • MUST build time machine. Rewind, play, repeat till fade.

  • Great performers.

  • just one substantive, LED ZEPPELIN, no more.

  • I like the part where they play this song.

  • This is my jam

  • listen to this song way after ur long and dead

  • playing this for my 8th grade graduation ceremony. epic song

  • One of the best live renditions of one of my favourite Zeppelin songs. Plant and Page are just sublime here.

  • I'm hearing a bass. Who's playing that? I see the triple neck Jones is playing, but there's no bass on that.

  • @jjp009 Jones is playing the bass with his feet dude! Bass pedals like on an organ. What a musician!!!!

  • @xrobwx I'll say! I thought he was doing something with his feet, but couldn't see. The camera operator should have at least gotten a shot or two of that work. Thanks.

  • @jjp009 not a problem bro! Keep on Zeppin!

  • @jjp009 JPJ is playing foot pedals making synth bass sounds.

  • ..wow..never seen Jimmy play the B bender tele

  • One incredibly moving song for me, reminds me of all the girls I fell in love with, the ones I had crushes on. The ones who shot me down, and the break ups I have had over the years. Love is a wonderful thing, but can be a painful as hell. This song illustrates it in a way that i do not think any other song does. It is difficult for me not to become emotional when I hear this song. The highs and lows of love...oh well ....Ten Years Gone.

Led Zeppelin is heavy as a lead balloon!

  • Sooo should have been on the DVD!!!

  • @Evster2012 I soooooooooo agree with you. Thanks.

  • It gives me chills watching videos of Led Zeppelin perfoming live. Unfortunately, I never got to see a Led Zeppelin concert. I'd do anything for them to come play at "The Hill" in Moncton, New Brunswick, with Jason Bonham on drums, my dream come true.

"Then as it was, then again it will be. And though the course may change sometimes, rivers always reach the sea."

    Beautiful :)

  • The 25 people who disliked this are Justin Bieber fans.

  • @racer500gp People still say that?wow

  • From what I understand the woman this song is about, as well as other Led Zep songs, is named Shirley and she is the sister of Maureen (Robert's ex-wife). He dated Shirley first and she told him "its either music or me" he chose music and ended up with Maureen but always pined after Shirley. They even reunited again in the ealry 80's after he and Maureen divorced and supposedly have a son together. Gee I wonder what the holidays are like in that family...talk about drama.

  • "We are eagles of one nest, The nest is our soul"

  • non of zeps songs sound the same. non of their performances of the same song sound the same. they were so good at what they did and no other band (imo) even came close to their level

  • Robert Plant Perfect

    I love you always

  • i love zeppelin i wana be like jimmy :) and im working on that

  • I saw Zep twice in the 70s at the Inglewood Forum in LA. They were two of the most amazing musical experiences in my long, storied life. I can tell you, first hand, watching the vids of live Zep, this is what it was like, somewhat. You cannot reproduce the vibe, the thrill, the excitement and volume of the live concert - being there, taking it all in, Page's guitar and Bonzo's drums swirling about, Jone's bass lined reverberating through your body, and Plant's voice and persona. It was great!

  • @Monkey45008 That's awesome, thanks for sharing.

  • Listen to that Telecaster...

  • I didn't get to see Zepplin in concert, but did go to 2 Page and Plant concerts in the 90' and all I can say it was AWESOME!

  • The worlds most perfect band.....

  • I like Roberts eye/eyebrow lift at 3:59 "did it feel so good". Unfortunately I do not like junky Jimmys look...it's sad.

  • It's so sad to see Jimmy look so sickly here

  • What is the instrument Jones is playing?

  • @dragonsGTO a 3 neck guitar. on the bottom a 6 string guitar in the middle a 12 string guitar and up top a mandolin

  • holy shit a tele

  • @karsaurlong - tele with a B bender.

  • not so great live, look at all the overdubs and editing that had to bemade to their "live" DVD

  • Well past there prime here.

  • beautiful song

  • I still love you "C". I miss you everyday.

  • Fucking page was feeling REAL good while playing this night. Look at him, he has just the right amount in him to pull it off. :-)

  • @johnex3303 ... of heroin... LOL

  • Greatest rock band of all time; playing their favorite song of all time.

    LIVE.

    Enough said.

  • My dad made me listen to rock music. i started with Beatles. in my life i listened to lynyrd skynyrd, rolling stones, black sabbath, GnR, The doors,.... My hard disc was full of music. then i realize. listening to led zeppelin i like listening to Beatles, lynyrd skynyrd, rolling stones, black sabbath, GnR, The doors all together. This diversity which Led Zepp had you shouldn't find anywhere you try. Thank you God for that.

  • Love this song so much. Live with the b-bender adds another dimension

  • I miss my Grandad :')

  • This is what it's all about, Led Zeppelin at their best. Most notably Jimmy and Robert at their ultimate best. This song will forever remain number 1. And will someone please tell me just what in the world JPJ is playing?

  • This is what it's all about, Led Zeppelin at their best. Most notably Jimmy and Robert at their ultimate best. This song will forever remain number 1.

  • in my opinion Page being high on stage all the time and his sloppiness made his music nearly impossible to imitate, making him even more of a god in music. Zepps genres of music go from Country to Soft Metal, Bron Yr Aur Stomp to Achilles Last Stand, making all four of them be GENIUSES AND GODS they should all be Knighted. Sir James Patrick Page, Sir Robert Anthony Plant, Sir John Henry Bonham(even if he is dead knight him), and Sir John Baldwin

  • its just ocurred to me this is led zeps version of country music, and it is awesome

  • Comment removed

  • my favorite band always had been led zeppelin.

  • why the hell didnt jpj play bass >:|

  • @Zososg He's playing bass pedals. It's hard to make out in the muddy sound, but it's there.

  • Comment removed

  • Jimmy Page is stoned out of his mind and still plays better than 99.9999% of today's guitarists could ever dream of playing.

  • curse this recording, i wish i were there in person. woulda been amazing

  • 1:23, ONE OF THE COOLEST GUITARS EVER!

  • awesome... now i remember why i started with a telecaster at 14.. thanks for a choice tune by legends...

  • AHH. He's got a 'B' Bender tele!!!

  • sometimes, this song makes me cry :S

  • The 23 people that didn't like this song forgot to turn on their speakers!!!

  • Led Zeppelin literally wrote their music to peform it live

  • The original pompador...

  • ~~ thank you so much for posting - this was always one of my favorites ~

~~ and, ~ to the next stupid asshole who tries to tell me, 'they were just

studio musicians' ~ or 'they sucked live' ~ i'll just tell them to view this, and, ~

    ~ STFD, and - STFU.

  • @bluelibra65 Someone said they sucked live? Obviously, they have no idea of what Zeppelin really was. Live WAS Led Zeppelin. Where the music evolved, stretched, took on new shades and occasionally, yes, crashed and burned. They were a band that on stage, anything musically could happen. You are obviously dealing with neophytes who don't know better. Don't harsh on 'em. They are probably listening to Lady Gaga. Politely point them to a multitude of videos here. Perhaps they'll get it.

  • @zoso8t0 i don't think they listen to gaga...more like bieber or britney spears... even if you don't like her music, gaga is pretty decent live...

  • @zoso8t0 - thank you for good advice, - but in the scheme of things, - all that matters is that their music touched my soul, - and helped me through some rough times, - long live the mighty Zep !!!!!!

  • @zoso8t0 Zep did suck in some shows, it would be foolish to assume otherwise. Some of their concerts are downright embarrassing.

  • @Matthew9444 Wow really?Are you really that stupid?They didn't suck.

  • @lionellogan LOLOLOL Listen to Tempe 77, Zep insulted that crowd by being so bad.

  • @zoso8t0 The reason why people say Zeppelin suck live is cuz of what Page did to a lot of the songs in the studio. You'd need 3 Guitar players to make the music sound the same live as it is on the album. I noticed a big difference after years of listening to the studio stuff.. I remember Robert Plant talking about the same thing. He was talking about how good some of the Zeppelin songs sounded live with the added guitar parts when Page played them with the Black Crows.

  • @bluelibra65 they where just studio musicians. this guy must be retarded. studio musicians are the pinnacle of any musicians career short of actually being famous

  • @bluelibra65 You're right. I've seen that idiotic comment before. They do need to STFU. Zep is consistently known as the best live band of all time.

  • @bluelibra65 they had their ups and downs after 1975, because of heroin and lsd.. and stuff. but i like this performance ;)

  • @bluelibra65 im with you led zeppelin is one of the few bands that i like better live

  • @bluelibra65 - whut the hell...every idiot knows Led Zeppelin loved to play live much much more than the studio workings...how many bands are there at the moment that play a minimum of 2 or better to say 2 and half hours or even as it happened lots of times more than 3 hours on a concerts ???

nobody can step up to their studio and much better to their stage performance ever since then

    Led Zeppelin was THE band

  • @bluelibra6 PLEASE PEOPLE! THIS IS CLASSIC AT IT'S VERY VERY BEST BEST!!!!!!!!

  • @bluelibra65 IKR! I hate it when peeps tell me Jimmy was sloppy live. I say eff you! It's called rawness. Led Zep was one of teh tightest live bands ever. Their communication onstage was uncanny.

  • @xrobwx Plus when you go to a concert, who wants to hear a note-for-note replication of a recording? I know I don't, I don't pay that kind of money to go to a show to hear the purely the record. I go for the experience, to bond with other fans, to FEEL the music, be one with the band. To get in tune with the RAW talent of those who are so passionate about what they do as I am about listening to it and creating it myself. Ah, Zeppelin, you are pure ecstasy.

  • @xrobwx Agreed they don't wana play it the exact same everytime. Jimmy mixes up the solos and plays what he wants.

  • @xrobwx yeah i 100% agree with you. also, i can also see what people do say about him being sloppy but i wouldnt call it sloppy. id call it making the guitar literally a part of your soul...i think zeppelin are amazing on stage. you can tell how much better bands put on a show back then.

  • Somehow over the many years as a avid Zeppelin fan/follower/worshipper I have missed this song?! Rarely played on the radio, but OMG it is so freakin Awesome...Give me the Goosebumps, chills down my spine and a damp eye when I can close my eyes and focus on its Magnificence! It has it all,the lyrics and the sounds that come from these Gods of Music. So Unbelievable! They have 48 songs that I made into a favorites CD,now what band can do that?..and yes, this is my favorite, but many more too! : )

  • REAL music will rise again! But the few good up and coming rock bands need your support to reach the top and restore music to its previous heights. Check out on facebook and such SAD CYPRESS, SATELLITE HEARTS AND DIRTY BIRD. Three young and talented new bands that could use all the support in the world!

  • goddaam i love jimmys b string bender

  • God, if you're there, please let us see a band of the caliber again. It won't make up for all the wars and malice down here, but it'll certainly take the edge off.

  • I agree best led zep song

  • Triple neck and Bass pedals!! Jonesy is the man!!

  • Gretest! Zepplin song ever. (sweet and simple).

  • Thanks.

  • the best singer ever

    Robert Plant is genius

  • I love how Page can make his guitar sound like it's crying. Gives me chills!

  • quE pINCHE vERGA! dE mONO!

  • According to Plant, this song was written about a girl he was dating just in the begining as Zeppelin started gaining notoriety. He was touring, and was starting to tour relentlessly, taking away time from her. Basically, she said "look it is either me or your little band" more or less. Plant's feeling was, I must continue, I am on to something wonderful....and he was right. Sadly she is ten years gone plus now, but what a wonderful song! And a simply beautiful band! Zep 4 ever!

  • @Boski391 Yes, the song is about Plant's first love and the fact she made him choose music or her. Maureen (Plant's ex-wife) was already well in the picture when he joined Zep. The woman whom these lyrics are written for came at an earlier time in Plant's life before Zeppelin. As the story goes, it was when he decided he wanted to give music a real go and try to make a living at it. Plant might be getting senile in his explanation.

  • @zoso8t0 can you tell me what happened to Plants daughter??

  • @TheZOSO1 She's married to Charlie Jones. Jones had been a regular part of Plant's bands in the 1990's. Most famously, playing bass with Page/Plant during their "reunion." Carmen doesn't maintain a high public profile. There are modern pictures of her online. Just google 'em.

  • @zoso8t0 can you tell me what ever happened to Plants daughter??

  • @zoso8t0 From what I understand the woman this song is about, as well as other Led Zep songs, is named Shirley and she is the sister of Maureen (his ex-wife).

  • @zoso8t0 NOOOO BONZO WROTE IT

  • @Boski391 Nope, you are right, I was wrong about the timing, referring back to my Zep literature. This was before Zep, when he was just starting out. I feel bad her, but happy for the world to have Robert!

  • @Boski391 i think there were some songs where the sound was kinda fucked.. but really the performance always was flawless! =)

  • Page sounds like shit. Plant, as always saves the show.

  • @MrMooncrazy1970 i likes the way Pagey sounds here . what thell are the wings of maybe i wonder

  • @Cincinnatus1869 I think its hope. . .

  • @toof I think you are full of ...wait , I think you are right . I am a little thick you see

  • @Cincinnatus1869 Its alright . . .it is poetry after all and I had to think about it a bit too.

  • Did Jimmy use a tele to record Ten Years Gone?

  • oh man i love the twang of the fender telecaster...nothin like it

  • sick B bender tele

  • "I'm never gonna leave you. I never gonna leave

    Holdin' on, ten years gone

Ten years gone, holdin' on, ten years gone"

One year later Led Zeppelin separated.

  • did Robert say "Zen as it was?"

  • @LedZeppQueenBeatles Then i believe

  • Poetry, pure poetry.

  • can't believe 23 people didn't like this. theyre probably taliban

  • miley and bieber should watch this so they see what real music is

  • @Tweekki in fairness miley cyrus is a pretty big fan of a few eighties rock bands. she just dosent compose that good of quality music

  • holy guitar

  • back to the tele!!! ya! go jimmy!!!!! just like the old days...

  • Drugs shmugs. Always good. And always good for a reunion..

  • page is as fucked up as me ahaha

  • three neck and bass pedals...

  • Note to all - cleaned up some of the more recent less than quality exchanges. Comments are great, swearing and insulting each other. C'mon. Save that for the KISS videos. ;)

  • @zoso8t0 Good Job!

  • @zoso8t0 LOL! Right on my friend. Sometimes it's best for some not to reveal their maturity level!

  • John Paul Jones is playing a foot pedal bass at the same time he's accompanying Jimmy on guitar...what??

  • @mjw9363 I was wondering if he was playing one. I'll have to watch this again.

  • @lakefloor Dude..I knew he was..it was hard to find on line but I find more about it ..he is known for using them as he played the triple neck on Ten Years Gone...I'm gonna send you a link to read about it

  • @mjw9363 Awesome! I appreciate it!

  • Nice to see Jimmy playing a Tele!

  • @HemiHead66 still a dumb-ma-fucker

  • @0adireita Why don't you take a survey right here and see who winds up being the dumb-ma-fucker. You just watch how many people slam yur punk ass.

  • @0adireita Oh, now I get it, you're one of those Bieber shitheads that run around voting down great Rock bands because you don't like the way people have been giving him shit. Well I didn't give him shit, ya shit! So go cry somewhere else..

  • NOTHING LIKE THIS.....

  • Hands down Led Zeppelin is the best band in the universe nothing compared and nothing ever will.

  • This song is about 36 yrs out of date since I heard my sister play it & it never gets old & it never willlllll !

  • @LordGandor3 your sister is cool. :D

  • YEAH three F**KING NECK guitar BEEYATCH!!!!! People can't do that now can THEY????
