@bailey12444 - yes. totally...it's a completely different amp. Suhr is developing a new PT100 that is not based on the OD100 platform...it'll probably be even better. Hoping to get at least one new clip up this weekend. Peace.
Good question. I feel that this is not a practice amp. LOL. It needs volume for it to deliver the true tone hidden inside. The clean channel is amazing at any volume. You do not need a distortion medal when playing at band volume. It has all the gain you will need for hard rock. This is not a death metal amp. I don't see myself ever wanting another 100 watt amp to replace it.
Other cool amps I would consider...thnew Nuno Randall Signature amp ( not out yet ), the EVH 5150 III, and for much less money the Peavey 6505+. Good luck!
that new nuno looks wild. i had the original 5150...1 trick pony i hear the newer ones are better. I have a mesa roadster (great chunk but not the best lead tone) and a hughes & kettner switchblade. i fall in and out of love with the h&k...certain guitars sound thin on it but it is incredibly versatile with it's midi switching. like everyone, i'm looking for the end all monster tone i guess.
I was so close to getting the Switchblade but it was pretty expensive for the combo and I read all these reviews that they are unstable. There was on the floor at Sam Ash and it was just DEAD. I thought that was a bad sign.
I'll have to read up on it...so far no probs (knock on wood.) it's SO nice to just be able to grab the combo and have the effects built into a great sounding amp. just a guitar cable and a midi cable and you are playing. i usually have a little delay and reverb on so having those onboard makes it nice.
That's cool. from the clips I've heard it sounds like a cross between my Elmwood Modena and Diezel Einstein. I like the brightness of the amp alot. I have to check one out in person.
Thanks...actually that's just the sound of the amp on channel 2 with the built-in boost...its awesome. There is also a Whomp switch that "pushes" air at lower volumes. Sounds huge.
i want to get a pt100. i think i will wait for the new model. thanks

I don't remember bc this was the 1st week I had the amp. It was most likely Channel 2 Boosted at a gain setting of 7.

what are your thoughts about the amp now that you have had it for a few months? better, worse?
