The only weapon in this game is the multipurpose variable assault rifle. It can do full-auto, sniper mode, and fire 3 kinds of grenade (kinetic, ice/smoke and EMP). It can also be used as a melee weapon. Hope that answers your question.
Don't worry, the game doesn't suffer from this lack of diversity in weapons; I think you'll find it's suitable in every situation, and forces you to think about how to attack, not just what to attack with.
I bought this game just this evening. :D It was half-off on Steam, but I'm not able to buy it yet. My GeForce 7900 GS only has support for DirectX 9.0c. T_T
HAH, that's what I get for writing comments at 4 in the morning. "I bought this game this evening, but I wasn't able to buy it yet"? I meant PLAY it yet. :)
While there is a story, explaining why the ISA and MMC are warring, what happened to the Moon and the ISS, and why people don't just pack up and go home, it's not really a part of the gameplay. It's a fairly abstract multiplayer FPS. There's no singleplayer story-driven campaign, or multiplayer coop segments.
Hope that answers your question. Check the official Shattered Horizon website for more details!
@hcig You can buy the game on Steam it costs $20 US, I hope you're not that poor :/ oh also forget about it if you still have XP it only works with DirectX 10 so Vista and 7 unless you have XP DirectX 10 cracked :P
Not right now, but don't let that put you off. Shattered Horizon has far more depth than most games you've played, and it comes from the movement, the controls, and the grenades. 3 kinds of grenade - stun, smoke, and knockback, and you do have a melee attack.
That one gun, too, has multiple firing modes. It can be used full auto for close-combat attacks, burst-fire for mid- to long-range, and has a scope for sniping.
You'll probably want less options, not more. Seriously.
Vista will do! I'm on Vista, and as you can see, it runs wonderfully. I very rarely drop below 30FPS on fairly high settings with a moderately powered computer.
That said, XP -will- not run it, so if you're on that, then don't bother with Vista.
That, you'd have to go and ask the guys on the shattered horizon forums. I'm not really sure. All I know is that I wouldn't like to try running this on my old 8800GT.
Happy to! I figured this sort of thing was going to be quite different than what the trailers show, although there's now a Silent Running trailer which shows off the low-power mode effectively.
You should get it, Darkr. I'm actually just hovering around in a no-damage server. There's no tutorial, so they threw these up for people to experiment.
I'm glad you found it to be helpful! That was the idea - the trailers show an action-packed, orchestral-backed, intense FPS experience. It's really a lot more relaxed, and cerebral, and I wanted to show that.
Hai mate GG on this. my type of game sci-fi and original. hope i can run it full settings when i get it got a 260 gtx windows 7 e8400 duo core processor 4 gig of ram thought i would mention this to see if you think i can or not. Cheers.
I don't think you'll be able to run it -full- full settings. What I'm running it on is near-to-full. Shadows are medium, resolution is 1280*800, and the rest is max'd. I'm on a Q6600 (2.4Ghz quad) processor, GTX 275, and 4GB RAM, Win Vista. You'll definitely be able to enjoy the game, and have it look pretty, too! I run in windowed mode, by the way. My desktop resolution is 1680*1050, so I think I've found a good compromise.
Is that a Pepsi logo I saw on a cargo container?

Is there like a skirmish mode or like Can you create your own server and Make bots?
Zeta368peep 2 years ago
Not... really. There is a dedicated server program available for download, but there's no such thing as a listen server, and there are no bots.
There are stacks of servers up for the game, though!

Can my laptop run this on at least low settings?
windows vista home premium 64-bit
2.26 GHz intel core 2 duo
4 GB ram
Nvidia GeForce GT 130M with 1 GB dedicated
I also have dx10
and it runs l4d2 on max settings no problem if that would help.
