This has got to be my favourite Ani song. One of the first I ever head. Your version is wonderful! I love your take on the song, it sounds really good. Beautiful guitar, too. I hope I'm able to play like that one day. At the moment I'm just mucking around with a few of her simpler songs.
you have the wrong chords, and it sounds like you're just making up the lyrics as you go!
If you really want to pull off a Megadeth cover, I suggest listening to Peace sells...but no ones buying. its classic Dave Mustaine. Good luck and keep practicing!
filksngr81, why r u so unkind, ani is hard to play, much less play and sing, she will work it out with encouragement. i'm sure she knows it isn't perfect. ask her how long she has been playing....it matters
Some of these chords are horrible wrong and it's making your voice sounds horrible flat.. You need to fix the fifth chord in your intro, You're playing it as a diminished chord and it's not! Your chorus is almost entirely wrong except for the G chord you're playing initially. A good tip is that when your voice is fighting what you're playing tooth and nail one or the other is wrong, and you're singing the correct melody. Fix your chords and repost, this version is frightening.
I'm stealing some of your verse fingerings though :) If you haven't already conquered it, I recommend giving manhole a shot. That song is a blast to play.
hahah yeah since ive recorded this video ive changed my strumming a bit, although not the chords. if you figure out what the chorus chords are let me know (i agree they sound too simple...but i did figure this whole thing out by ear.) thanks for your comments :)
The song's chorus isn't meant to be a slightly modded major I-IV-V progression; we both know Ani's not that easy to figure out. Transitioning from verse to chorus sounds like going from Ani to Top 40.
I also feel like you shouldn't resort to just strumming the chorus. Use more rh fingers and have more fun with the chords- you don't need to play it like ani of course, but you could spice it up a little and enjoy yourself.
Hi-- I was looking for some help on some chord shapes to this song and found your video. I think you're in C, the same key Ani plays it in. You've got a great voice, btw. I'm playing on a yairi acoustic baritone tuned to B, capoed 1st fret.
The verse parts sound good, but some of your chorus chords are off. You can't get away with the open G (what is it down here, a D#?) and the F (C#?) together. Something close to that G might work, but definitely not the F major.
Absolutely amazing, another wonderful cover. I love your interpretation of this song, after "Talk to Me Now" it is my favorite Ani song. A couple questions since I play a little guitar myself: Do you play by ear? and what type of guitar is that?
ive never heard of 'talk to me now' ill have to check that out. i played this song by ear but usually i get tabs and then rework them by ear cause theyre hardly ever 100%. the guitar is a hamer jazzbox, only manufactured by hamer from 2000-2001 then it stopped production. i love it so much. thanks for commenting on the videos, check out the other ones.
this is so great! keep it up!! <3

You should play and sing with more confidence. Your left and right hands need a bit more work. Relax your wrists.
