  • Talk about the impact that might have... My lord this video is brutal to watch! What is wrong with your goofy ass????

  • I seriously spit up in my mout seriously! This video is fkn gay! When I say something is gay that mean the accused thing is fucked up in the head completely opposite of right! Whats with the long pauses? You are truly gay with you fake gay tears! Your scared of words? wow what a pussy gay! Give this bitch an oscar for the gayest performance of the decade! Im am waiting for another pause....oh there it is lol! GAY AS HELL! Im Sorry your gay!

  • @MontySouth1 Stop, just STOP

  • Still GAY!

  • very sweet vid - fav'd.

It's nice to see you again.

Hope you're winter is going well ... spring is right around the corner, altho it's snowing right now. blech

    Cheers,

    Seb

  • videos like this are the reason I'm still on youtube...

  • {{{Heidi}}} About a squillion years ago, before I was 10 or so, "gay" didn't mean "homosexual" or "stupid"; it meant "happy". It's time to drop the "stupid", keep the "homosexual" and reestablish the "happy". :)

    Stay sweet!

    Henrik

  • this video is gay... just kidding

  • Seems as if whoever was about to issue compassion left an enormous bag at your place. Maybe thats why this gift had not been evenly distributed among people...

  • It's so good to hear from you... :)

  • Powerful!

  • So was their video... thanks Victor.

  • Very true.

  • We would never had gotten such a heartfelt vlog had the Heidi hiatus continued. Your clothes make me feel cold.

    *impatiently waits for spring*

  • Lea refers to it at 'the homeless look'. lol

It's 62 today! I even have the doors and windows open.

(yes... you have no excuse for a vlog now dear... ;)

  • I loved this....my kids grew up in a gay household (their mom) and knew all too well the implications of "words", whether they carried a specific meaning or secondary. What we say, and how we say it carries so much responsibility...as it should. I applaude you for your conviction.

  • Thank you for your supportive comment. ~Heidi

  • However another word I don't liike is 'homophobe'. The attitudes of people described by this word ahve nothing to do with a phobia. To me it seems like a word inventd to mock a person who doesn't agree with you. It's a bit childish to me.

We don't call anti-semites 'jewphobes' right? It's basically the same thing.

  • Interesting concept.... I never even considered!

Thanks for the thoughts. It makes me think - I like that!

  • I never got the 'that's gay' thing. I guessI'm too old. I tpopped up among kids when I was an adult. I took it to mean 'lame' which is a word from my generation meaning essensially the same thing. I took someone to task for replacing ;lame' with 'that's gay'. They pointed out that it's jsut as bad to insult lame people like that.

    Good point. lol :)

    Peace.

  • Honestly... it has always been thoughtlessly thrown around in my generation, without any consideration...

  • Not only were those kids brave and couragous in speaking out I think you sharing this a wonderful sentiment. As a person who knows what it is like to be treated as though they are less of a person because of who they love I thank you all.---------GW

  • I am sure you were as moved by their testimony as I was and I'm so glad that we were able to share in this! ~Heidi

  • This video is gay!

  • Sooo beautiful... had to watch again,. ((hugs))

  • Huge hug back. It was an honor to share my truth.

    Much love, Heidi

  • Words are very powerful, they can hurt or heal a person more then most of us are thinking.

There is so much meaning between the lines, in the way of choosing the words.

I try to change things a little better if I treat people around me in a positive way.

And this way not only helped me but a lot of people around me.

You're words showed me that I'am on the right way. Thank you for posting this!

  • I love how things trickle down as the words of her children

validated my innate feelings. Thank you for your kind words and thoughts! ~Heidi

  • well said Heidi!

  • Well Said!

  • Thanks Skibby...

  • featuring this on my channel, the word needs to be spread...

  • You're such a great person! I've had problems breaking that habbit too, and am still trying. But the fact that you even make a video about this, and we can tell you care simply from the emotions you display. DOn't ever let anyone tell you you don't care about others!

  • Thanks Tetheas and I'm glad you are trying.

And no. No one can ever take that

away from me. It's the way I'm wired! ~Heidi

  • Good, glad to hear it!

    *hugs you*

Hope you have a great day!

  • Very eloquent, thank you!

  • Thank you Tobie...

  • Hey Heidi, I totally understand what you are saying, but the key word it is all in how it is presented like you said. We all use words in unprovoked manners and I know you didn't lash out at anyone. I am not gay bit if I was it wouldn't offend me in the way you are presenting it. So don't be so hard on yourself. Take care...Tony

  • I don't think I'm being hard on myself.

More than anything, the thought that my carelessness could cause harm to anyone... an apology was owed.

Any so you learn and teach and move on.

Their video touched me and I am grateful. :)

  • proud to be a friend of yours. ttys.

  • Thanks Lea. That mean a lot to me.

  • A lot of folks use that slip up, don't know where that phrase got started, well spoen Heidi btw getting sick of winter here dumped a foot of snow from the storm

  • Thank you Poco.

I was spared the snow and can still see the ground!

    But it is frigid...

  • I took me a long time to not get mad at friends who would say "that's so gay". because my brother is gay, i didn't like the idea that lame thinks were being asociated with the term.

i eventually conceded that 'gay' had it's own meaning before it was strapped to homosexuals. based on that i can conclude that some things are indeed gay, but that just isn't how the term was being used.

great honesty and openess on your part for making this. love you my friend.

  • I love you too...

I started self-censoring years ago but I still tolerated it from others where if other racial slang was used (even without intent or hatred) I would always ask, "please don't use that word around me".

I don't know why this would be any less important.

Thanks for your support and kindness. ~Heidi

  • Well spoken, Heidi.

You're looking lovely--hibernation must agree with you!

    Hugs.

  • Soon it will be spring...

I'm looking forward to it. :)

  • I never used 'gay" or "fag" or "faggot" in speaking to others. For me,the words made no impact to whatever situation I was observing or being impacted by.

People call me "Grey" but,I am. So it is merely being redundant on their part. Nice video.,good to see you again,

    pieces of 8

  • Thanks.

  • GAY!

  • I'm speechless.

I cannot thank you enough for making this video Heidi. I'll showthe kids when they get home from school.

    xxoo, gina

  • All that snow and they still had school?

Thank you and your children for making me think and let them know that they have already made a difference. ~Heidi

  • great video

  • Thank you.

  • Words are the daggers of the day...

  • Well stated.

  • I was having trouble letting go of the word faggot.

    Until a gay friend of mine put it this way;

Faggot doesn't mean gay it means lame

which doesn't mean crippled it means gay.

That got to me! I am a slow learner:)

  • Yeah... sometimes it takes a good smack in the face,

and that video was sobering for me. :)

    Thanks for relating...

  • I'm cold, are you cold?

  • This morning is much better

as the wind has seemed to cease!

  • we all learn by our mistakes and grow by admitting of them. Powerful

    Keep warm Heidi =)

    Peace for Humanity sake

  • Thank you Mark.

Their video meant a lot to me and I'm glad I had the opportunity to say that I was sorry. ~peace

  • Very true! Great point!

Thank you for this video and its meaning.

Being gay it means a lot to me to hear you say this. I wish more people realized the power of words.

Dakota and Noel are the best!

  • Thank you...

They seem lovely and already so accomplished. :)

  • your a lovely lovely person ...

  • Thank you.

  • A moving video

  • Not as moving as theirs... :)
