  • WHERE IS THIS?!?!1

  • at 0:17 i have a model just like that except its german

  • and btw did it hurt your ears when the train at 1:37?

  • great video

  • WOW! First view of the doubledeckers. Also, that is amazing: 12 doubledeckers bracketed by 2 electrics. Did not know NJ Transit did that.

  • Nice Video. I just came from a trip to Provedence RH. I took Acela There and a regional back. On the way, I saw 3-5 Bi-level trains. Maybe the one in the video was one of the ones I saw. anyway, Great Video

  • how did you manage to tape that many trains? when I did the same in Penn st. in NY, there was a security nerd there after 3 minutes. Crazy!

  • I show the security my NJT ID because I work for them. I still watch my self too. The best thing to do is go to a non NY & Newark station to film and take picture. It's less of a headache. I enjoy watching your train videos from DB Railroad in Germany. Germany was one of the places I wanted to go and visit this October 2008 when I go on vacation. I don't think if I'll be able to go this year because of the passport issue I'm trying to take care of.

  • I have explored much of penn station's platforms as well as those at GCT in new york. The security people usually don't bother me. Maybe it's because my girlfriend works for TSA? Also i've been there coming or going 2-3 times a week for 10 years (11 this june!) and i'm sure some of the people recognize me by now.

  • Keep up the good work.

  • Cool video.

  • Thank You

  • A AEM-7 or Alp-46 is not that loud bell on or not. People see lights and gates at a road crossing and still go around it so you can't predict peoples ignorance. The fact is i have a right as a engineer to protect myself from peoples stupidity

  • You Tell'em HHP664 !!! I work for Amtrak here in Chicago & I see people here at Union Station cross the tracks despite the train blowin the horn & turning on their ditchlights !!! They need to show "Before & After" Picture's of what happen's when you decide to "BEAT THE TRAIN" !!!

  • lolz exactly

  • Love the BiLevel Train!!! Great Video 5Star

  • I once rode on a 15 car multilevel peak express train from nyp to tre. I see most or all of this is at sec. I should look into that some time. The acela goes 120 through there southbound cuz its right after the 2 track curve out of the tunnel.

  • The Acela doesn't go through Secaucus at 120. The track speed is only 90mph on the high line

  • Weird, not what an amtrak guy at newark penn told me. Maybe misinformed?

  • Well being that i am a Amtrak corridor engineer out of WASH DC and work 2225 sunday nights 6:00pm departure out of NYC i think i know what i am talking bout when i discuss corridor speeds.

  • I meant the guy at newark.

  • oh i know this station it opened a couple of years ago its the next to last stop of penn station

  • Great video! Pardon the ignorance, what station is this?

As for a blast before a station, great idea. Its the loudest thing on these trains when doing 90mph. There maybe station announcements about an express train coming through in 1 minute, but as others have said, people with ipods and what not dont listen to that. They will listen to a blast of a K5LA horn though!

  • Secaucus Junction Rail Station in NJ.

  • The noise of you engine at the station is much louder than someone's headphones or any electronic device, plus you do turn your bells on, right?

  • Awesome,in Germany build electric locomotives in USA.

  • I'm sorry i blow WHENEVER i feel someone is doing something stupid or careless. I have had a fatality personally and have been on the scene of others. Norac rules and NJ rules state you blow before the station and whenever is necessary to prevent accidents. People have headphones in their from computers, portable DVD, player and Ipods. They don't always know we are coming. Happens every day here and throughout the jersey section of the corridor.

  • Tell me about it people are crazy.

  • As a Amtrak engineer who goes through this station every day, Just why shouldn't i blow at this station when it is a new jersey state law. And also there are many railbuffs and stupid passengers who don't realize it is 90moh through that station and stand past the yellow line.

  • First of all, you should blow your horn, BEFORE your train reaches the station, people at the station will hear the sound of your engine, second of all, it scares people when you just blow your horn right in front of them.

  • That's what some of them need !!! "BLOW THE SHIT OUTTA THAT HORN" !!!

  • That was kind of crazy what he did at the last minute.

  • Great video, but the engineer of the 2nd amtrak needs to know you shouldn't blow at a station!!!!!!!!!

  • He was being nice and giving him a toot!
