@fat8622 I think Decals differs from TMR in that it is more sort of fragmented, each song here feels like a little miniature, whereas TMR was more like a unified work (Decals still has some unity though, e.g. One Red Rose is very similar to Peon).
Also, I'd say Beefheart makes this album technically a bit more intricate that TMR, I mean the melodies and basslines in Decals feel like they were carefully crafted, for the sole purpose of sounding weird. TMR was arguably a bit more spontaneous.
This album reminds me ALOT of TMR, but shorter and less weird. No as good either, but still pretty good
