I think if Jim Henson and Joe Raposo were still alive they would have either taken a major stake in CTW to keep the content educational, or they would have created their OWN children's network that would be giving Noggin, Disney and others a run for their money.
*Sniff* *Sniff* Takes me back 25 years when it was a great time to be a kid. I truly feel sorry for the ankle biters nowadays. They really are missing out on being a kid.
So now all three "water" clips starring this same family have been posted---"Water Baby" "Paddle Like a Doggy", and "Froggy Goes-a-Swimming." As a kid I never noticed it was the same family throughout, since you never saw all the clips together.
I think this is one of the loveliest little films ever put into this 39-year-old program.
Yeah, its the father and son from "Paddle like a doggy" and the daughter from "Froggy Goes-a-Swimming" plus another son. Where's the mother. The family that swims together stays together.
To be perfectly honest, I don't think I remember this one! It may have been from the late 70's right after I quit watching Sesame Street on a regular basis!
This was on a lot in the 80's, during my childhood. I used to really envy these kids because I never learned to swim, and it looked so fun. It's probably been 15 years since this was last on.

Is there anyone else who used to think the kids and the seals were actually swimming together in the same pool?
I used to when I was little.

This song gives me chills, it's so good. I love the jazzy musicianship in the fadeout.

Great "nature-film" song; Joe Raposo had a gift for making his songs thoughtful, but still understandable to the children who watched Sesame Street.

I know this is from a 1991 episode. It probably showed up a few more times after this, but this was proabably toward the end of its life.
