  • I love how half these videos have comments disabled.

  • One should start harpooning Japs for research purposes!

  • @Schlabberchen1

That's what I said... let's figure out just what species they are, how many there are left, and sell their meat in the open markets. We could make billions. Hell, that's my kinda research!

  • the idiots have never accomplished anything, let alone a success.

  • I still don't see why, if they really believe they are there to save whales at any cost, they don't just approach the whaling ships and inform them via radio their vessel is about to be sunk and that they should enact evacuation proceedures immediately. Give the crew a limited amount of time to evac the ship, and have Sea Shep. boats pick u the survivors (hopefully in life rafts). Then destroy the ship - RPGs, thrown grenades, or just board the ship and use thermite/c4.... This whole show is BS.

  • they should give the earthrace boat 4 time the gas/diesel holding capisity they we would see some action and the really need to put a bigger motor in the steve irwin so the can all run with the big dogs

  • So where exactly do you get all your "facts" from?

  • so im guessing you guys are all vegetarians or do the mammals you want protected need to be of certain size to deserve protection? So cattle and pigs are ok to eat but whales is just murder?

  • @Gunnarsveinn2 I think Paul Watson is a vegetarian. But the point of Sea Shepherd campaigns in the Southern Ocean is to protect endangered species. It doesn't have anything to do with vegetarianism.

  • @mxhm: Paul Watson is a manipulative pussy. You want to save the whales? REALLY? Destroy the whaling ships - the people on board dont need to be harmed, and they dont deserve to be. But you destroy one of those hundred million $ ships, its going to take time to build a replacement; not to mention the massive losses from even a single ship going down. Do it enough times, the whaling companies will simply go backrupt. The danger? WHO CARES!? You're there to save whales, so stfu and take action.

  • @nilesrock024 that would be COMPLETELY ILLEGAL, while what Sea Shepherd Does now is within legal limits. ramming and/or sinking a japanese whaling vessel would involve dozens, if not HUNDREDS of deaths, and a LONG stay in prison.

  • @theairplanedude: But thats what I'm saying - these people say they are doing things at all costs, yet they take international law (which itself is broken by the Japanese in whaling) into account and refuse to break it for their own sake. And what they do now, legally, DOES NOTHING to stop whaling. Thats total BS. The inflatables could easily be used to recover crew, and the crew would have to be insane not to leave a vessel about to be sunk - their fault if they refuse aid.

  • @theairplanedude: Which doesnt even take into account the fact that, assuming each whaling vessel is EXTREMELY expensive, destroying even 2-3 would be a serious drain on the whaling companies - destroying a whole fleet would be devastating. If you could do it, without losing ANY human lives (consider boarding parties armed with tranq darts, and perhaps even sleep-gas-bombing the ship before hand; instead of throwing stinky butter), it would b a HUGE boost to the cause, and hinderance to the foe.

  • @theairplanedude: There is a firm line in the sand between being a protester, waving a sign and shouting at someone doing something you believe is wrong, and being a fucking activist, going out and STOPPING the people doing the wrong - whatever it takes, no matter how bad things get for you personally.

This whaling shit - its evil. EVIL.

In a murdering babies, torturing small animals and raping women kind of way - pure, unquestionable, its-just-wrong EVIL.

    It has to be stopped.

  • @nilesrock024 While I agree that killing whales is evil, I don't think that getting the entire SSCS organization arrested and thrown in prison is the solution. Then the whalers would just get a new ship, and a new crew, and start whaling again, without interference from anybody.

If you feel so strongly about it, then go and do it yourself...

  • @Chris153758 Do you know how much a ships costs? I'm pretty sure it's pretty much.

  • @nilesrock024

Exactly. That's what separates those who "feel it's wrong and say something"...from those who "know it's wrong, and do something". Democracy (when it is in it's true form, not the distorted capitalist owned democracy), was brought about by doers. Rights for the poor, women, and minorities to vote, was brought about by doers. Slavery was ended, by doers. These cold-blooded whaling operations, will one day be shut down by doers. You can count on it my friend :)

  • @JurisArcane stoping slavery took several wars , and more lifes then you could imagen , don't compare whale wars with that.....Ever.

  • @nilesrock024 What color are the skies in the world that you live in?

I think that Hollywood has rotted your brain....

  • @Gunnarsveinn2: No, they are not okay to murder. However, whales have no verifiable use to humans at this stage - their meat/blubber can be replaced with that of less intelligent, less rare species. However, our current means of beef/pork/poultry production is not only cruel to the animals, it is downright disrespectful. LIFE is valuable on the very basis that it is LIFE, no matter the container. If you must farm/kill animals, do it with respect... At the moment, we dont. And thats wrong.

  • its time to stop japanese

  • Its time for the sea shepard to buy a use battle ship and a used submarine too

  • whats Jea mean?

  • @BeatItUpRealGood like jes^^

  • @BeatItUpRealGood

Thye haven't made a "Battleship" since the end of WWII but I get where you coming from, if they invested in a cruiser of some sort, something capable of 20 knots and isn't 30 years old.

  • I hope the sea shepherd terrorists will sink and other people will resolve whaling issues in a normal civil manner.

  • and while talking, the whalers will be killing whales. while they talk, lives are being taken away illegally. I wish there was a peaceful way, but men like them are immoral and violent. and SSCS is not a terrorist. Terrorist try to force VIEWS by violent force. SSCS does not care if the whalers like animals or not. SSCS is just enforcing laws. they arent trying to make the whalers love whales and hate whaling, they just want to expose the illegality of their slaughter.

  • @samipso i agree with you samipso

  • Isn't this just a big pretend game of cat and mouse.

For example, Sea Shepherd always try to throw stink bombs at the Whalers with little success. Why not just drop a load from the helicopter???? It's beacuse they have an 'understanding' with the whalers.

Bit of a con, from a load of attention seekers, really.

  • ya what you just said is right

  • no. i asked Paul and other members this. they said it was one of the FIRST ideas, BUT, if a person tosses an object from a chopper, they wil have their pilot license taken away. and we dont seek attention. we dont give a shit. all we want is to stop this illegal atrocity. we use the cameras to film and get evidence, show what is going on. we cant understand these insane bastards. and we have MANY successes with the BA, just not on the MASSIVE Nisshin Maru. it makes Titanic look small

  • ah ok,I under stand....bu i recall in the interviews that the man was apart of the army,,if he goes back....to his home...wouldn't he get in trouble?

  • i dont know. i do hope he ends up ok, but for now, let's focus on stopping the whalers. "always make use of the time that is given to you because time is as priceless and knowledge"

Plus havent you noticed that SSCS is feared by the whalers WAY more than GP? But that LRAD is a monster! on the vid of the Ady Gil when the whalers hit it, if you watch the vid that a cameraman on the Ady gil itself filmed, the sound of the LRAD gets s loud it mutes out ALL other sounds.

  • ok thanks for replying in smart, calm replys!

I just hope neither side gets hurt,as the workers on whalers are like joe shmo...who needs a job ..and maybe feeding his family....and they were minding their own business..while doing their job.

and I hope none of the sea Shepard crew members get hurt..as they are so young

  • Sea Shepherd's primary mandate is to assume a law enforcement role as provided by the United Nations World Charter for Nature. This charter was adopted by the United Nation's General Assembly on November 9, 1982. Sea Shepherd is guided by the UN Charter World Charter for Nature and cites Section 21 under the heading of Implementations as the Society's authority to act on behalf of international conservation law

  • ahh i agree with you,but is it right to act like children...and fight the whalers like they are?

    Or

should they try a more civilized aproach?

stop the whalers in port, rather risk lives greatly in open seas?

  • i wish that were so. but for men like these, there is no peaceful way unless they get a lot of money which cannot be given. while we simply talk, whales are dying. they are dying while we talk. in port, they are in their Japanese waters, we cannot attack or it will be like an invasion. only when they are in the aussie waters or in the international waters which is least common than in the aussie waters can we attack. Protesting is begging which can be ignored. we use non lethal force

  • thank you for being sensible with your reply,If they want to use non lethal fore, why not use a helicopter with spray nosels to drench the entire ship with spray..wouldn't it be more efficient..and wouldn't it work more then a few bottles?

Wouldn't gas work well if it got sucked down thru the ventilation shafts so that every room gets hit?

I'm just saying they suck at what they are doing, they must be 100 percent efficient,or it's completely useless..and they might as well not bother to help.

  • No. I read that things like that can only be done by choppers from fire departments. if we use fire hoses like they use on SSCS then the whalers may get badly injured just like the camera guy last year did when he was hit. plus the pilot may lose his license. and my buddies DONT suck at all. if they did, the japanese wouldnt have been fleeing, acting insane, and wouldnt put up all those nets and LRADs now would they. the fact that they panic shows SSCS has gotten their FULL attention

  • .Donna Petrachenko from the Environment Department told the hearing that the Japanese had not said how many whales they would kill this summer. Ms Petrachenko said Australia hoped Japan would kill fewer this year and would not kill any humpback whales. The hearing heard Paul Watson, skipper of the protest vessel Steve Irwin, was on Monday granted a visa to come to Australia.

  • CATHY ALEXANDER

    October 20, 2009 - 5:44PM

Japanese whaling vessels are expected to target Australian waters in their upcoming summer hunt. But they won't do this without a fight, as protesters plan to disrupt the kill.

Federal government officials have told a Senate budget estimates hearing that if the Japanese follow their usual pattern, they would this year focus on Antarctic waters claimed by Australia. Last year they hunted in New Zealand waters

  • why don't you join Sea shepherd instead of commenting to their stories!

  • say that japan has no right to hunt whales.Whales are not fish, whales are mammals they breathe oxygen not water.

  • INCOMPETENT VEGAN PUSSYS

  • Can you come up with your own insults instead of parroting South Park?

  • pathetic murderers

  • i am no vegan yet i am a SSCS member. you dont have to be a vegan to love animals. the meat the whalers give out to the public is toxic

  • @MTftr You have a very low intelligence level

  • Japan's Fisheries Agency said it had lodged a strong protest over "vicious and reckless" attempts by anti-whalers to sabotage the hunt, which killed 508 whales out of a targeted 860

  • "The Australian government will continue to fight with many nations around the world to ensure that whaling halts," Turnbull said.

Carter said the whaling season had been a major embarrassment of Japan.

"We could have had an ecological disaster. I hope the Japanese draw a lesson from this. Antarctica & the southern whale sanctuary is a pristine place and should be left that way," he said

  • Anyone notice how Croc completely ignores my posting about how the S.S. was just bent over by the Australian government and had their visas yanked? Paul and Peter aren't even wanted in the country any more.

  • wow, you dumbfuck. they GRANTED the visas AND now the whalers FEAR GETTING ARRESTED! the Aussies now will arrest any haling ship they see in their waters, whaling in a whale sanctuary. the Aussies support us now and always will. unlike you, we have something worth fighting for. fights liek this led to the ban on whaling, now this will help expose the BS research.

  • SSCS will shut down whaling, and I support SSCS in any way possible

  • thank you. we need all the help we can get. and operation musashi was a PERFECT success. we captured on film the ENTIRE process on how a whale is killed, showing just how brutal the japanese are. especially on the fact that they tossed metal, shot an LRAD AT A CHOPPER, and that they carry guns as we filmed them shooting a whale in the face with a rifle, which also shows that they probably did shoot paul last time.

  • Did you hear that Australia cancelled Paul and Peter's visas and denied their new applications? I guess all Paul's talk about how much the Aussie's were behind him was just another in a long string of his lies.

  • Sea Shepherd Awarded Coveted 4-Star Charity Rating by Leading Charity Evaluator

Sea Shepherd Awarded Coveted 4-Star Charity Rating by Leading Charity Evaluator

Charity Navigator Sea Shepherd Outperforms many U.S. Charities and Achieves Charity Navigator 4-Star Rating for Sound Fiscal Management

  • Sea Shepherd, the most committed direct action marine conservation organization in the world, has been awarded 4-stars by Charity Navigator, a leading charity evaluator based in the United States. Less than one quarter of the charities evaluated by Charity Navigator have received 4-stars, their highest rating. Sea Shepherd's rating clearly indicates that it has outperformed most other charities in the United States and that it is amongst the best when it comes to responsible fiscal management.

  • "We are proud to announce Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has earned our 4-star rating for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances. This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Sea Shepherd from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust," said Ken Berger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Charity Navigator.

  • JAPANESE WHALERS FOUND VIOLATING THE LAW IN FEDERAL COURT

Australian Court Orders Illegal Japanese Whale Hunt Stopped

SYDNEY, Australia, 1/15/08 - The Humane Society International today won a historic decision from the Australian Federal Court which the environmental group says could save whales from Japanese harpoons. The court ruled that a Japanese whaling company is in breach of Australian law when it kills whales in the Australian Whale Sanctuary and has ordered that the hunt be stopped

  • Japanese whalers have been taken to court and the ruling confirms that the hunt is illegal.

Justice James Alsop ruled that the Japanese company, which did not appear in court at any time during the proceedings, has violated the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, or the EPBC Act

  • AUSTRALIA IS AGAINST JAPANESE WHALERS:

Even written in the Australian Ruling Party's Constitution:

Incumbent GOVERNMENT ruling party of AUSTRALIA Constitution:

"will pursue a permanent end to all commercial and scientific whaling and the establishment of a global whale sanctuary."

"will pursue legal action against whaling nations before international courts and tribunals to end the slaughter of whales for all time."

  • ok fatass wasnt shot it was staged. You fucking terrorists are lucky that throwing bolts and nuts were all they did pointing and LRAD at the helicopter while under attack by captain fatass was justified i think a stinger would have been called for.

yeah right how did the bullet penetrate the vest and his keystone cop badge stop it if they were able to get the round form the vest dummy

  • which is a terrorist weapon? GRENADE TIPPED HARPOON or a fucking camera? clearly we are no terrorists. and no matter what you call me, i will continue fighting to end these atrocities and you cant do shit about it.

  • I'd love to see a link to an Aussie site where the government official supports the S.S. actions against the whalers. The ONLY country I've been able to find that supports the S.S. in this case is Ecuador and that's probably because the don't want to lose the S.S. ship they're using over there. And I'm still waiting to hear the S.S. got those Canadian convictions overturned....

  • NEWS:Whalers scared of arrest in Australia

Whalers will face Federal charges if they enter Australia.

Whalers damaged one of their own ships, while trying to sail in the Antarctic to whale.

They avoided docking at close ports in Australia & went to Surabaya

"Theyll be served with a warrant if they go into Australia" "There's a Federal Court order banning them from whaling in Australian waters and they are in contempt of it" "Theyll be detained and wont go into an Australian or New Zealand port"

  • No i think trying to ram and sink a ship in 34 degree water with the intent of killing the whalers is a terrorist act.

  • ROFL! WOW! You actually think we rammed them in the intent of KILLING! OMFG you are a dumb fuck. Ok, first off, the Steve Irwin wouldnt stand a chance against a harpoon ship. second if Paul wanted to kill someone he would have done it already and the other SS would leave since they would get scared of him. third, the ramming was a stupid accident. i myself emailed them and said "What the fuck was that?!" and it explained that there was no intention of murder. we arent Kamikazes or Al Queda men

  • no you dumb ass if you ram and open bulkheads water gets in the and sink you have kkilled the crew say they cant make to life boats. Nobody is scared of watson he is joke all he does is suck media dick.

  • our ship wont make a hole in a harpoon ship that has the ability to push through ice while our ship cant. "say they cant make to the lifeboats" is what you said. well that is a rare possibility since they have alot of them and they could get away easily. Paul is no joke and he laughs at all the insults. to him, he says that he is happy to have people trying to kill him. that means he is hurting their wallets and they are getting desperate and that means he is winning. the whalers are losing

  • He isnt all he is doing is playing captain crunch and wasting fuel. So when his ego gets a crew killed i cant wait to see how you try and justify it. How do you sleep at night when he just blatanly lies and is always caught

  • if he does end up killing a japanese whaler either by murder or an accident that was entirely his fault and wasnt the whalers' at all(Though i wont pity the dead guy) i will quit being a Sea Shepherd and go to Greenpeace instead. i wont help anyone who ends up taking a life. but SS has been around for 30 yrs and not a single human has been injured. i dont think any whalers are going to be killed by paul since they kill themselves. Paul is an honorable man, you are just a pathetic shit head

  • I am pathetic shit head huh. Watson cant even spell honorable. I really dont give a damn if you leave the SS or not. I would hope captain crunch leads by example havent seen that yet. How many japanese have died dosent sound like an epidemic if you eat contaminated food and it kills you your bad.

  • and the whalers cant spell moral. and you can hope and pray all you want for Watson's suffering or evil. he has a good soul and knows right from wrong. i admit that he is no perfect human but nobody is, not even myself. i already regret things, but when i went to high school i decided made sure i was aware of the way the world is. now i am doing whatever it takes to do what is right. IT ISNT BAD IF THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THE FUCKING HELL THEY ARE EATING! THEY GIVE IT TO SCHOOL KIDS WHO DONT KNOW!

  • Can you post something to substantiate your claim that Japanese school children are unknowingly given whale meat? I have lived in Japan for many years and have never heard of this or even seen whale meat in a market. All the people I know here have never even eating it.

  • They had been given Dolphin meat, not sure if they were told it was whale but either way...watch "The Cove" and then watch "Mercury Rising" If you are actually in Japan you you may not be able to bcs of the Media Blackout that was placed on the movie in Japan when if first came out.

  • @ford762 first of all anybody can be smart. like enstein fluked math a couple times. but he is still one of the smartest men in the world!. god you dibshit. i can't spell some words either. we are suppose to have flaws, thats what makes us humen.!

  • @ford762 first of all. wattson just added a new ship to his inventory. and it is called the earthrace. it is one of the fastest boats in the world. and its the first boat to run off of organic fuels from vegetables.!

  • yeah, one of my SSCS comrades sent me a pic of it through the email with him beside it and showed me some pics of the engine and the interior. now that is amazing technology. now that is what people should invent, tech that helps humans and does not harm nature in anyway.

  • actually the earthrace is fast but it cant handle ice or rough seas how is it gonna operate in the roaring 60's.

  • @ford762 thats true. but if it is in open water they would have a chance to use it.

  • @croc560 true and the last reason is that the steve irwin can only go at 14.5 knots. the harpoon ship can go at 20 knots.

the harpoon ship can prevent a ramming if they wantted to. the only ship the steve irwin can out run is the factory ship.

  • correct. finally someone who reads. the harpoon ship shouldnt even be out there killing these sentient animals. but to them, money is everything and worth doing anything to get it.

  • In the entire history over 3 decades SSCS has never caused a serious injury or a death to anyone. The acts carried out by the Whalers have killed 3 people. It is the actions of the Whalers that have caused human death and taken 3 lives and are mass-poisoning thousands of Japanese families & children and the whalers are also smuggling whalemeat in violation of Federal Law into the USA because it won't sell and they can't get rid of it in Japan, resulting in damage to untold numbers of Americans.

  • If whales were breed in farms like cows than would it be ok to eat them?

  • Its not ok to eat cows

  • stupid question, it wold not work in the first place, and second, how do you execute a multi-tonn whale in a fast and easy way?

    with a captive bolt pistol?

  • there are no stupid questions.. only stupid answers. Btw have you heard of Shamu?

    captive bolt pistol..psssh

    one inch punch ftw

jeez..what's next.. are you going to humanely execute animals in the wild to feed wild lions?

some people need to get a grip on life.

  • well....no not really. becuz its impossible. you would need a GIANT farm for that and also, whales are sentient intelligent animals while cows and pigs are not that smart. but it does sound better than killing them in the wild to extinction.

  • whales are a wild animal but bovines are domesticated. end of story

  • duh.. bovines were once wild too

    think outside the box

  • duh are whales domesticated?? i think not

try thinking before you type anything ever again

  • let me give you some advice..

if you grow up and plan to be a lawyer...based on your logic...forget it!

    hahaha.

Attention! Dummies Please do not reply to my comments ok???

  • Please list 1 species of domesticated whale.....

if you cant stop talking out of your gaping anus

  • Yo dum dum

My initial comment was "If whales were bred like cows would it be ok to eat them?" You don't understand what "If" means?

did you know that pigs.. horses.. dogs were once wild too.

If there was enough money I can bet you humans with a full brain unlike you can domesticate whales too

  • whales are wild stock... never domesticated you clearly state that... keep at it einstein lol

  • you clearly BELONG in the stone age..

    cased closed

  • I know whaling is bad and all, but that doent meen hate all japenese people, cause thats not right. some inocent japenese who support sea shephard are still being made fun of you anoyingamericans who think they have a bigger ===D.... God just hate on the people who do bad, not the entire nation.....

  • true! i hate whalers, not the japanese. why blame all for the actions of few. only 4% of all japanese civilians like whale meat and in a country with BILLIONS 4% is like 4 million or 400 million sadly. and the ones who are against it are scared to speak up against it cuz japan is know to be VERY patriotic so they think by hating whalers, they may be seen as hating japan.

  • The current population of Japan is about 128 million, not billion. You may be thinking of China. Also your views concerning the mindset of Japanese people regarding patriotism seems unfounded based on my own experience of living here. What is the source of your information?

  • that makes at least 320 thousand that eat the meat. and it is true on the patriotism. and r u japanese? only they know. on the SSCS ship is a Japanese woman from Japan. she hides her face though for her families protection. she stated clearly that even though her family hates her, she knows how patriotic people in her country are and fears that their ignorance will bring harm to her family. what's sad is that whaling is NOT Japanese culture. it was brought to them under western influence

  • I am an American living in Japan for 7 years and speak the language and understand the culture as well as a westerner can and your perspective on Japanese does not match my own observations. Besides what you mention above, what is the source of your information beyond what you mention above?

  • thats not long enough. i would rather hear how japanese people are like from a japanese person, not some american who thinks he knows everything about japan. what i mention? you mean the data and articles i post. those are from simple news. but i make sure where i get them. i NEVER use articles from FOX. I do a lot of research and as an SSCS member, i should have many things for our defense. some of my data was even from Japan itself

  • How long would suit you then? I never claimed to know everything about Japan, only that I know as much as a westerner who has immersed himself in the culture and has been married to a Japanese woman for over 7 years. What is the source of your expertise then and is it unbiased? I asked you if you could corroborate your claims but so far you have only stated where you do not get your information so do not dismiss me merely as "some American who thinks he knows everything about Japan" Wakaru?

  • but i already said where I get my information. news articles posted online, from other SSCS supporters/members, from simply reading and looking it up online. i read a lot since i like learning. a good source is CNN. also some from Australian and Japanese news articles a good friend of mine gives me.

  • Perhaps I should be more specific. Which articles exactly? If I am to understand your point of view then I need to know the exact source of your information. You stated that Japan's population was in the billions when it is in nowhere near that and your observations on Japanese culture do not jell with my experience so I'm finding hard to know how much of what you write is factual and how much is based on emotional attachment to the issue. I mean no disrespect, I just wish to understand.

  • dont take it too literally ok. and it was a simple typo. big deal, i used a wrong word. this isnt language class. and i stated my exact sources. what more do you wish. my emotional attachment to the issue got me into it, but i knew that i must first FULLY get the issue and understand who is truly at fault. i have given you plenty of sources. would you like me to post another article like on how whale meat is toxic.

  • Your rhetoric does little to substantiate the claims you make here. You have not listed any sources other than CNN and the internet which are at best general and not specific. You are dismissive of my knowledge of Japan because of I've only lived here for 7 years yet your statements seemed to be based on undefined ,vague sources. Instead of intelligent and rationale debate on an issue I see emotional rhetoric stated as fact not just from you but almost everyone here on both sides of the issue.

  • i cant post links in comment boxes! your "knowledge" seems to be not working. I am an SSCS member and i have said myself that i get info from them as well but i also do my own research. i dont really see why EXACT sources are needed. i find the info i want, if the source is good i keep it and go. i dont see why i should save the exact location. i have some more articles with data from scientists and others as well if you desire me to post them. but i cant post links in comment boxes

  • I did not ask you to post links, only sources so I'm unclear what my "knowledge" has to with that. As SCSS is not an unbiased source I have to question its validity and seek unbiased answers elsewhere. You do not seem capable of responding to any of my questions without being insulting or dismissive and providing no answers so any further discourse with you seems pointless. It seems I came to the wrong place for an intelligent and rational debate. I wish you well...

  • wrong. you assume it is biased and have been folled by the japanese who fear going against whaling. is it beter to be feared or respected. it is feared. fear makes anyone do anything. i do my own research and keep my ears open for more. amd if u were smart u would go to other sites to debate. i use youtube to help spread the word which is working, but i debate through PMs or other sites made for debating. i inform the uninformed people & the misinformed ones of the truth which i wish was a lie

  • and havent you noticed that the Japanese did a media blackout on both The Cove and Mercury Rising as Lorraine56838 said. i heard of that. it is because if it involves Japan and the Japanese govt, they will remove it to hide the truth from the Japanese civilians who would no longer side with the govt and the killers. SSCS and other societies are not the only people who care, my comrades and i are the few who KNOW

  • To conclude the reply above. as an advocate of Sea Shepard's cause, does it not behoove you to persuade others to join the cause not by being dismissive of others and making unsubstantiated statements? Rather, should you not state the precise source of your claims so others can make an informed decision as to why they should back Sea Shepard and their mission? This so far you have failed to do.

  • Just because i am a member doesnt mean i close my mind to others. i keep my ears open to see if there is anything else that i may not know. and i havent failed. this year i helped get 20 people to donate. 5 online, 10 from my classes, and 10 from friends of my parents and their families. They should back up SSCS because the japanese are illegally poaching in foreign waters and targeting endangered species of whale and the meat that is sold is toxic to the human body.

  • Japanese have been whaling for thousands of years so statements like the one you made above to the contrary make it hard for me to take much of what you say seriously. I do not condone or advocate it myself, especially in a modern context. I'd rather watch them, but please at least get your facts straight if you hope to be taken with any degree of seriousness.

  • you're misinofrmed. i understand why u must support this atrocity. becuz ur wife is japanese and she must hate my comrades and claim it to be BS culture. but it isnt. they didnt begin whaling until the 1940's. even if it was culture i would still fight against it. Slavery was American Culture and it was abolished since it was cruel and immoral. whaling will suffer the same fate. i dont care if i am hated, becuz i wil stop this illegal act

  • Croc560, I really wish you would take time to read my posts before responding. Nowhere did I write that I support whaling. (Please re-read my previous post.) or that my wife hates your comrades (How did you come by that conclusion? Don't answer, it's a rhetorical question) I only came here in the hope of finding objective and unbiased information and perhaps a clear headed and rational discussion but clearly this was the wrong place. I will seek answers elsewhere.

  • biased? My view on whaling itself is biased since i believe it is wrong. but the whaling issue with the Japanese whaling, is not biased, but fact. I have posted unbiased info, including proof that whaling is NOT japanese culture and how the meat is toxic. plus i also included that only 4% of Japan eats the toxic meat. plus the media blackouts on The Cove and on Mercury Rising, plus info of the edited videos of the fights with SSCS that are shown to Japanese civilians thus misinforming them

  • I have to say that your knowledge of Japanese culture and history is remarkably apocryphal. But please don't bother to respond to my posts. You don't seem to be reading them anyway. Take care and good luck with endeavor, (so long as it can be accomplished peacefully)

  • no i read every word and i know for sure that whaling is NOT Japanese culture. i have a Japanese friend who was born and lived in Japan for 20 years before moving to the USA for college. He told me that Whaling is NOT their culture at all, and he doesnt even care about the whaling issue. he just told me the truth. I will keep supporting SSCS and when i finish college i will join them on the SI and help save lives. I am sick of seeing these bastards get away with illegal acts.

  • You write "no i read every word " and yet in an other post you wrote that "i understand why u must support this atrocity." when I had clearly written "I do not condone or advocate it myself, especially in a modern context. I'd rather watch them" I have to conclude then you are either not reading my posts, completely ignoring them or both. In ether case please don't respond as I can't be bothered to read what you write anymore. It is an exercise in futility...

  • well since you haven't said anything positive about SSCS and continue to claim it is Japanese culture, i can only assume you support them more than SSCS. The whalers trying to get away with this will soon be futile. One thing for sure is that you have been terribly misinformed on the history of whaling since whaling is not Japanese culture. Even if it was i would still fight it. Slavery was once American Culture and was abolished. whaling will suffer the same fate

  • it is NOT Japanese culture! Japan is buddhist & SHINTO. Asians have the highest proportion of vegetarians in the world. Buddhists are often vegetarian. Japanese tradition and culture was to NOT eat meat, and this was tradition in Japan for over a millennium! Even the emperor of Japan banned eating meat. Eating meat was introduced by FOREIGNERS! It is a western practice, scorned by the Japanese people, and forced on them after WW2 by white people.

  • the japanese HAVE been whaling long before they ever came into contact with other nations, but not even close to the level they were untill after WW2 when they became desperately short on meats, so started hunting whales, at first nearly 60% of the meat was used in SCHOOLS for kids, but then became more popular with the public, though now its not all the popular anymore

  • wrong. read more history books. i did tons of research on the history of whaling and japanese didnt become an official whaling nation until after WWII. they first started in the late or early 1930's. even if it was culture i would still fight against it. slavery was american culture and was abolished. whaling shall suffer the same fate

  • @croc560 slavery in north America and Europe wasn't a cultural thing, its was an economical thing, a very lucrative one. but i never said japan was always a whaling 'nation', but some coastal villages DID hunt whales that came close enough to shores. its not really the point though, right or wrong, japan can't just shut down its whaling operations for various financial reasons, it may not be a multi billion dollar industry, but it would be a hard hit their economy would feel

  • actually it was considered culture at the time and very popular. in fact it was once western culture to kill whales. now the USA is against whaling and so are the Aussies and the French. They didnt kill any whales. they ate the ones that washed up on shore already dead is probably what you mean. Not really, only 4% of the japanese people buy this shit. in fact they are so desperate to make money that they try to legally smuggle it into the USA or just sell it to Norway and others.

  • Alaskan native Americans hunt about 50 out of ten thousand yearly, and use small craft with very few men with harpoons....then they eat the meat..but store it under the ice.........

tradition is needed for their dwindling people......

support these native Americans, and all people like them

    not whalers

  • i still hate the fact they eat whale meat which isnt even healthy AT ALL and can harm the human body. though i respect them way more than whalers. those natives just kill 50 and instead of wasting the meat, they store it which lessens their kills. plus they are allowed to hunt whale, the japanese are violating laws in the process and are doing it for commercial purposes under the disguise of research.

  • Comment removed

  • "Eating of meat banned in Japanese culture for more than a thousand years:"

"In 676 AD Japanese emperor Tenmu proclaimed a ban prohibiting the eating of Fish & Shellfish as well as animal flesh & fowl. In the Kamakura Period, an order from ISE Shrine demanded penalties of a fast of one 100 days for eating the meat of domestic or wild animals. Further, anyone who ate with someone who consumed meat was punished and ordered to fast for 21 days. The eating of beef or horse meat was unthinkable."

  • Japanese true tradition is NOT to eat meat! This is a lie concocted by whalers to fool westerners who do not understand Japanese history and culture. Meat eating was introduced by westerners. Anyone cheering for Japanese to eat more meat is not sticking up for THEIR tradition, that person is helping to force a western edict onto Japanese people and destroy a japanese tradition that was in place for over a thousand years. Whaling was NEVER culture.

  • i meant basterd

  • Go Sea Shepherd!!!! We support you!

These haters are Japanese. Or otherwise have small dicks. Hard to say, but in the end, they are all the same. Small dicked haters.

  • you guys are a bunch of fucking idiots you let that fat ass Paul Watson tell you to do stupid ass shit does he ever risk his own lard? the answer is no notice how he's the only one on the whole hippie boat with a bullet proof vest. the only reason I watch this show is to see the dumb ass hippies get hurt. I laugh so hard when the harpooned a whale right in front of you retards.

  • the only reason he wears a bullet proof vest is so he can plant bullets inside them and claim he was shot. Ask a cop or a soldier who was been shot in a vest, ask them how it felt? You think they were able to do an interview after they were shot. The guy said he "felt a little pressure", bull shit. These anti gun/anti hunting tree huggers think they know enough about guns to fool people. LMAO, thats a joke!

  • can't wait for season 3 of WHALE WARS!

  • i support the sea shepherd 100% no matter how many people say your stupid hippies. and yes there were comments like that and worse. ;3

  • If the the ratings were enabled. I would give this video 5 stars. Just for the song. Awesome. Sea Shepherd rules. YEAH!

  • Too bad the Farley Mowat wasn´t able to join the fight (thanks to corrupt canadian government). The victory would have been even bigger.

But nethertheless this success is very good. Sea Shepherd will be back next year to stop them again, and hopefully the japanese government will stop wasting money on an unprofitable campaign.

And, by the way, cool music. Makes it even better.

  • I heard they're getting a new ship to help the steve irwin in the next campain. I love forshadowing :)

  • Really? This are wonderful news! Hopefully it is fast enough to hunt down the whaling fleet. We will see... :)

  • cool video, but pretty annoying having to read all that instead of listening to you read it haha. hail sea shepherd!

  • *1:Australia claims on its sovereignty over the Antarctica, however the Antarctica has NOT recognized its sovereignty by any nations by the Antarctic Treaty which was signed in 1959 by 46nations.

Article 4 - does not recognize, dispute, or establish territorial sovereignty claims and no new claims shall be asserted while the treaty is in force

Australia, please do not claim the sovereignty over Antarctica.

  • The Birth of a New Manchuria by Captain Paul Watson

    /watch?v=aCyEgaoaQS0

  • that was a good one

  • The best hing that came out of this now Japan's whaling will be taken to the courts by SEA SHEPHERDs.... Oh yeah.

  • If you really want to save the whales,

    Boycott Japan!!

    .

  • the attack was on the Japanes.

So with your reckoning the trial will be held in Japan.

Bet the Sea TERRORISTS dont show up to that one.

You can see it now Wanker Watson and his band of cowards will be running away at full speed.

But the Australian Federal Police now have the evidence so the truth will now be made public. Get used to a jail cell Watson you will be there for a while.

  • as usual your dreaming wanker liar

  • Good to see the Australian Federal Police have finally got sick of these sea terrorists and now have the evidence of their terrorists acts and hopefully arrest the crew and charge them.

Then take the Shithole Ship to India and scrap it.

  • Whalers violently attacked Sea Shepherd's ship and its crew in the Southern Ocean, and they will be invited to defend their violent actions at the ships flag country.

  • excellent work, fuck the whalers.

I can't believe the hostile response to Sea Shephard, all the smears out there etc saying this and that.

  • The United Nations World Charter for Nature states in Section 21:

    States and, to the extent they are able, other public authorities, international organizations, individuals, groups and corporations shall c) Implement the applicable international legal provisions for the conservation of nature, and the protection of the environment;

  • (d) Ensure that activities within their jurisdiction , or control do not cause damage to the natural systems located within other States or in the areas beyond the limits of national jurisdiction;

    (e) safeguard and conserver nature in areas beyond national jurisdiction

  • And finally, Section 24 states:

Each person has a duty to act in accordance with the provisions of the present Charter; acting individually, in association with others or through participation in the political process, each person shall strive to ensure that the objectives and requirements of the present charter are met.

  • European Parliament called for the establishment of regions of oceans and seas as sanctuaries where whaling for scientific purposes would be banned indefinitely and the current International Whaling Commission (IWC) moratorium on commercial whaling should be strengthened, and special fishing gear to avoid by-catches should be used in these areas and sonar activities should be restricted.

    19 February 2009

  • only in your head it has been succeed

  • Looking at your channel I don't understand why you would support a barbaric, mid evil practice that is illegal. Do you not believe in karma? I have a best friend who is japanese and is a vegan and has a great vegan resturaunt and thinks the whalers give the japanese a bad name. And I have other friends who are actually from Japan and can't believe that any country should not enslave the ocean mammals and fish for profit. Sonar will also ruin the eco balance of the ocean.

  • first off, I dont hate you westerners at all except those terrorist morons boarding SS ships

And I dont think Japanese whaling ruins the eco balance of ocean. whalers dont always hunt without any restriction. They follow the regulations which were agreed on ICRW

  • The Japanese are in violation of IWC regulation 19. (a) The IWC regulations in the Schedule to the Convention forbid the use of factory ships to process any protected stock: 19. (a) It is forbidden to use a factory ship or a land station for the purpose of treating any whales which are classified as Protection Stocks in paragraph 10. Paragraph (c) provides a definition of Protection Stocks and states that Protection Stocks are listed in the Tables of the Schedule.

  • Table 1 lists all the baleen whales, including minke, fin and humpback whales and states that all of them are Protection Stocks so as the IUCN list.

Japan has ignored these as well as the prior 30+ Resolutions while continuing the JARPA programs, significantly weakening the ICRW and undermining the IWC's indefinite moratorium on commercial whaling.

Japan targets fin whales and threatens to target humpback whales.

These are endangered species and thus this is a violation of the CITES.

  • WELL DONE!!!
