  • uh I grow small tomato plants and they are 10 feet tall. I have heard of them being 25 +

  • @TheProgressiveguy ... sounds like you're doing everything right, I wouldn't change a thing.........Donald

  • webcajun, it looks like your tomato cages are constructed out of rerod. can you send me a diagram or picture of your cages?

  • They're made of concrete wire cut in 6 ft. sections. Look for the video on making them "big tomato cages"............ Donald

  • You and your garden are such an inspiration to all who watch your video's. Thanks for teaching us the Cajun way.

  • I call the method "keep it simple, less is more". Why make something that's so simple..... difficult? More people need to learn how to feed themselves, just in case......... Donald

  • Opps..... wrong account........ Donald

  • yea hi Don, i just wanted to know how you mange to maintain such a large garden, do have anyone helping you i have a very small garden and if find that theres too much to do, well done Don, Donnie Brasco.

  • Hey Donnie ... I do 99.9% of the work by myself. A couple of times a year I'll get help from the family when breaking corn or digging potatoes / onions. It's a one man operation. I do a little at a time until it's done......... Donald

  • Hi Donald...i just wanted to say that me and my 3 boys love watching your video's...keep up the good work :-)

    Naomi x

  • Hey Naomi ... Thanks for the kind words and glad you enjoy the vids........ Donald

  • Ca va, merci, et vou? No, no we all love you and come to see what you have going on! Lucy is a darling though! I've been having some interesting "problems" in the garden this year (weird unpredictable weather). It's NICE TO SEE your garden!

  • Nice to have you visit. We had some "not so good" weather this year too. In fact it's been raining just about every day for the last two weeks. Grass and bugs are having a great time out there. LOL ....... Donald

  • love the dog : )

  • The older one is Molly and the "Knot Head" puppy is Lucy......... Donald

  • nope i was wrong!!! oh well...

  • I actually planted the one in the video, it wasn't an accident. LOL .......... Donald

  • I just hit pause...Is it that little special place that just happened to have the fert..One seed feel out some how and bam..you had a huge plant in the middle of the driveway to your shop...I remember that video....ok now I get to see....if i am right....go web cajun...

  • Great update Donald! I thought about planting a few things for this fall but I was pretty much worn out from my summer garden so I figured enough was enough, LOL.

  • I like most of the fall garden vegetables so I plant a good bit. Lots of it is put up for the winter while still eating fresh out the garden. Being retired I have plenty time to play. LOL ........ Donald

  • Just curious, but do you grow any fruit trees? I want to start some this coming year so very interested in whats out there to learn =] Love all your videos there inspiring.

  • No not really just a few pecan trees......... Donald

  • Thanks for the vid :)

  • You're welcome...... Donald

  • Super useful vid as always. Beautiful tomatoes, eggplant etc Donald. By golly...a little tank on wheels is just what I need. Too old for all this lifting. Got to give some thought to that. Great banana. Hope I get to visit one day.

  • The older you get the more you figure out how to do things the easy way. Always welcome to come and visit. We'll have a good old time "Cajun Style". LOL ....... Donald

  • Either I got lucky or they are real easy to grow. Get you one........ Donald

  • Thanks for another great video Danald! I have been looking forward to another field trip for a month or so now. I really like the extended version on the website you have. Can you recommend a good site that has info about climate zones and vegetable gardening? I know I'm in zone 5b, but I don't know what that spells out for my gardening. Most of those planting zone sites talk about flower gardening, not vegetable gardening.

    -Jonathan

  • Hey Jonathan ... vegetable planting guides can usually be found at your local county agents office. They can also give the varieties that are best for your area. Check em out........ Donald

  • other inspiring video... thanks......

  • You're welcome...... Donald

  • Quick question: What do you do for bugs? So I know for next year, is there anything that can be done about the pickle worm? I got no cukes this year at all, every one ruined. I finally went ahead and dusted with Sevin Powder, I hope it works for my fall planting. Thanks for videos, the keep me going! Noreen

  • Hey Noreen ... the only stuff I use and only when I have to is Sevin........ Donald

  • your soil looks very cracked. is it fertile clay?

  • The soil is a mix of sand and clay. Very fertile and will crust up after watering........ Donald

  • your so sweet. I hope your little buddies know how lucky they are. :) I am also happy to see that you didnt have the terrible weather you had last year. Thank you for your video's this year they have been a blast.

  • I'm hoping the "Big Creole" wins for em. Glad you enjoyed the vids....... Donald

  • Great video Donald. I envy the fact that your able to have a fall garden. Right now is the time of year my area starts seeing frosts and and then a hard freeze to end all growth. I had a close call last week with a Frost Advisory, ended up not frosting. I have been picking tons of cucumbers, zuchinni, corn and green beans. Soon will be picking the taters. Its been a great year for gardening. Couldnt be happier. Keep up the great videos and may your garden provide tons of produce. Cya Donald

  • Living in Louisiana I can't imagine having such a short growing season. Unless it's a really wet winter I'll be planting something all year. Glad you had a good harvest. We had some problems but all in all it wasn't that bad of a year........ Donald

  • yeah whats up with the worms

  • See above response. LOL ....... Donald

  • what about the worms? any new videos on how those are doing?

  • The worms are doing great. Those things can eat a lot more than you would think. I need to harvest some more castings so I may do an update soon........ Donald

  • never can get enough, God Bless.

  • Thanks ..... Donald

  • Amazing! I love the music at the begining too! You inspire me so much Donald! Your banana tree looks alot better tha some down here in Miami, lol! Keep up the good work! And may god bless you and the garden!

    ~Orly

  • Well it looked like it was going to die then it came back to life. Looking pretty good now. Thanks Orly....... Donald
